Plush should have got his gold for the 2nd movement of his SP, alone. That footwork, rhythm, energy, sheer verve... Ya know... he could have skated Yagudin's programme. Could Yagudin have skated his? Carmen got it over the line for me. He wasn't... incorrect to be down about that silver, despite the fall. Oh, God... any reference to skating and his first marriage... poor bugger, being pulled and tampered with in what were the most important years of his career - to keep skating or not, feeling positive about it, looking after himself physically, and we all now know how that ended up. Silly, destructive woman. Its interesting watching him around this period... his light was diminished. He's more subdued, on and off the ice, his humour dimmed, his emotions tempered. It looks like he was enduring a campaign that he wasn't allowed to feel special about what he did for a living, he wasn't to carry his accomplishments, he had to be all grounded and humble, as though he wasn't one of the most brilliant people on the planet at that time. No one as good as Evgeni was, could be so without humility. It comes with the territory. His work ethic always showed that humility. At the time of this Olympics, I put it down to just hunger for that gold, knowing how easily it could be taken away from you, etc etc… but like I said, you see it in all his skating and press in this period, in this interview.
He has lots of fan in Japen. He is really good with reporters.
So cute. I love him!
I can't believe that it was 8 years ago! No one can do this like him even now.

I love Evgeni, but I have seen him look considerably better.
Why isn't she looking at him.
