- Introducing Fenn, an Alveus ambassador for American Red Foxes. Learn why foxes do not make good pets, the impact the fur and exotic pet trades have on foxes, and what you can do to help.
@WorldWildlifeFund is working to make the world a safer place for wildlife. Report the sale of illegally traded wildlife and their products to protect our friends like Fenn.

I like this format of featuring one of your animals and talking about said animal and what happened to them and why they are housed at your sanctuary. I follow a farm animal rescue channel and he points out that these animals are "survivors." They have managed to survive horrific, or unacceptable or inappropriate care and he rescues them and gives them their best life and they are not used for human food, pet food, breeding, for their fur or skin, etc. They just get to live and they get the best possible care. Thank you Fenn for being an ambassador for all the foxes being housed as pets or for their fur or for sport hunting. Thank you Alveus for bringing this awareness. You give a voice for those who do not speak our language.
I think this as a series for all of the ambassadors would be wonderful. Also great editing
Agreed!
definitely!
I think that's what they're doing :)
fenn is so incredibly cute, it's tragic to admit bc he shouldn't have been bred to have that color scheme, but his appearance is 10/10. most handsome baby
Fenn, we need a plushie.
this video format is so good 😭
This "meet the ambassadors" idea is excellent, excited to see the whole gang
Very nice to have a concise/dedicated informational video from y'all! I appreciate animals as much as anyone, but always enjoy seeing the activism side of your work too ❤
I can't believe their red fox is black!
I don’t have diarrhea, I’m just a seed disperser
Maya, you're the kind of influencer that our planet needs! Go Fenn and the other animals in Alveus Sanctuary! Thanks to the rest of the staff, too! I hope you get more support from people and content creators from around the world. More collabs and donations! Lovin' the latest updates from Alveus and you're perfecting your craft! Much love from the Philippines! ~Steve Knows 🤘🥷
What a fantastic video! I really loved the style of this. Super educational but still fun to watch because of all the cute fox footage :) Would love to have a series of this for all of the ambassadors (eventually lol). Keep up the great work everyone! 💚
The editing is great. I also love the easy to understand language, fantastic for kids.
Great video, sometimes I forget about the many roles a wild animal has in nature beside the prey/predator roles. I wish the WWF included the problem of people who own exotic animals, some weeks ago I reported a whole RUclips account of a man who posts videos with his animals, I saw a tiger and a chimpanzee. I got to that account bc thousands of people on Twitter were mindlessly enjoying those videos, it's infuriating.
This is a great video!! This format is fantastic, I can’t wait to see other ambassador’s stories told.
Such a handsome gentleman! Love the lil foxy bois
Ahhhh! The woman that made tiny mics ICONIC!
This video is formatted amazingly. Calm, concise, and infomative. Love the style that was put into it as well. Great job to the team, Alveus!
Beautiful video! What a wonderful way to spread this message.
Awesome video! So glad to be a follower of Alveus. I've learned to love bugs from all of Maya's bug stories!
Tell Fenn I said hi!
Awesome video! Tackles the subject so well, while also making us fall in love with Fenn again. Will definitely share this around!
Learned a lot with this, it makes me optimistic that there are people that truly care for creatures that have experienced some of the most cruel and dismal environments such as the fur/exotic animal trade. Thanks for making and sharing this video, would love to see Fenn in person someday🥰💖💖
When Fenn smiles, I smile.
1:28 that face🥰🥰🥰
The Korok seed sound @3:53 lololol
Amazing video! Great job informing, Maya! Thank you!

Super informational and learned a few things I didn’t know about, like the select breeding of coating color. Pretty interesting.
Good luck on your mission Maya and the rest of the Alveus team! 🙏✌️

Do you guys ever collab with Urban Rescue Ranch? They're also in central texas
Ohhhh, can I have one in green?
Dear Maya, I love what you do. Would you be able to help Saveafox now on their huge furfarm rescue project too? A stream? A colab? I adore you, people, you are the salt of the earth.
Because, and I stress this, he is built different.
Just wanted to drop a like and a comment to help boost Alveus in the algorithm, and hopefully help more people see and learn from you. Thank you for all that you do.
Thanks.
Same with blue Pitbulls
Foxes are wild animals not pets. View and respect them from afar.
How did they breed the color black
bros got the same name as my elementary school
So interested in the fox ambassadors. Thanks for the useful and lovely video!
Does anyone know if off-colored Red Foxes exist in the wild? Or is it always a flag that they are/were pets?
Some non-red varieties of red fox do occur in the wild, namely silver foxes (like Fenn) and cross foxes (which look like a mix of the classic red and silver), but neither are as common as reds. Pretty much any other color is a product of selective breeding by humans.
damn! that’s crazy
cuz he gang 🔥🔥🔥
Love my foxes. We got 6 this year 4 died .same every year. They not pets they are neighbors . My neighbor has had to give the kits back to mother fox- got stuck in his window box
And boy is their shit full of seeds. Now I know. Thx
I feed them mice I catch. Not supposed to. But we think they are dying from eating rat poison. So I do. Same den for more than a few years.
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOO
Can you guys breed him?
TOTES agree to the these facts for sure. AS CUTE as they may be. They are not domesticated dogs. They are wild animals. They will ruin your home lol. No matter how much you clean, the smell will linger and stay. The only thing I will say, is showing Finnegan from SAF playing in the snow is not exactly fair. SAF notes all the time how foxes are terrible to have as indoor pets (for the fact they pee, poo, and chew on everything) , and the foxes are in enclosures and specially made yards. The house the primary founder lives in on the main property does allow the animals to have indoor time, BUT the amount of cleaning during and after does not go unspoken about lol.
commenting for the algo
FENNNNNNN
hellio Fenn!
I love to see that the WWF is making reporting so accessible. As a child trafficking victim, I have trouble seeing any good reason for the internet to exist. I really don’t know how much of a role it played in the first 15 years of my life at all, but I have to imagine that’s how my father reached at least some amount of his ‘friends,’ and I think the internet is where a lot of the things he filmed at home on the side between visits and outings ended up.
I don’t use socials but I do use that link all the time now when I see exotic ‘pets’ on RUclips. There’s an alarming amount of them and the unwillingness to learn of people in the comments who want these animals for themselves is nauseating. I hope more people feel empowered to report those videos and doing so actually makes a difference.
I wish I was able to donate or share the WWF link, but being profoundly disabled and unable to work makes it not an option unfortunately, and like I said I don’t have any socials (or any people in my life in general.) Next time I see exotic animal videos on here though, I’ll be sure to mention it in the comments. 👍🏻 Thanks for everything you guys are doing!
am i crazy or does maya sound like an AI maya in this video
i'm on my period and this video is gonna make me cry
Silly guy!
I blame Mick Jagger.
Fennnnn
We need wildlife. Wild life is suffering from our systemic actions of extraction. I want a military defense for wild earth and life.
i thought they were both european :o
One thing worth mentioning, fur on clothes has gotten far less popular, BUT... if you ever attend any kind of geeky convention with "medieval" costumes (like Renaissance Festivals), there are usually multiple vendors who sell walls and walls of furs and specifically FOX TAILS. There's multiple "true histories" these sellers tell as to why you should wear a fox tail, like it's a status symbol, or used to get fleas off your clothes, so people buy them a lot. What's more insulting is they'll sell them dyed ridiculous colors like bright pink or neon green. So you aren't even getting the "real" fur color... it's a disgrace tbh.
Omg that's horrible ;-; I've always wanted to go to a renaissance/medieval fair too, so sad that's even allowed entry
LOVE the YT content we’re getting, I watch all the videos that have to do with Alveus ❤
"Oh ma gurd! I need a Fox of my own to destroy my downtown Toronto highrise condo!!!"
Just kidding obviously! How are some people so selfish?!!
I am really over people and their pettage.
Fenn peege
Red is Sus
I thought they were European foxes?
wait im confused, are they european or american?
not a pet!
You accidentally called them American red foxes when there European red foxes
I think that while Reed is indeed imported European Red Fox, Fenn is bred from native American Red Fox (vulpes vulpes fulva).
