I move to London this Sept (if the situation is conducive) for taking my master, and am so nervous. Looking for references for living in there and just found your channel. Thank you for sharing!
TOP TIP - Do your research, ask the estate agent a question you KNOW the answer to - it's a great way to test "bullshit-ometer". I am a Londoner born and bred and have lived in various neighbourhoods since moving out of my parents hours. Loads of estate agents didn't actually grow up here so I often find myself educating THEM on the neighbourhood they are trying to sell me on. If they sense doubt or someone who doesn't know their stuff, you WILL get rinsed for all you've got. Estate agents make way less commission % that US estate agents, so they really aren't motivated to help you for the sake of their finances.

Hahaha I love that you’re watching when you probably know all of this already - I appreciate it, thank you!! Hope you can move back to the city soon!!!! 💛
About the monthly rent calculation thing: you can simply multiply your weekly rent by 4.33 or 4.3333 if you want it to be more precise. Because something x 52 ÷ 12 = something x 4.333333. It's also true that every month has 4.3333 weeks in average. Just a faster method :-)
@@TheW0rldisMine-b2l why are you struggling I've been to london on holiday And I loved it and it was beautiful What's the difference between living in it
I literally live in london already but I cannot deal with my household any longer, there’s so many things I didn’t know and I’ve been here my entire life lol, thanks!
I'm near enough 2 min into the video and this video is actually VERY helpful. Well done Shu, really enjoy your videos and appreciate your editing SKILLZZZZ!
Great tips. My first two weeks here I stayed in Marleybone which I adored, and then moved way north. At first we were told not to move to a particular area because it gets dodgy at night so I decided to move a little more south and find this neighborhood I'm in now is quiet and peaceful and safe for the most part. I also decided to get some shopping done in the previous neighborhood around 5pm and felt once it got dark it was very dodgy and I'm from LA and have walked around DTLA at night many many times. So yes, people who are moving to London do your research and go to the area you are considering before you move there!
Your research is absolutely fantastic! You've clearly spent so much time putting this together and it gives someone such a good idea of what to look for! Happy New Year also haha
You look absolutely wonderful. Very serene and at peace, through this all. Peace to you and keep on keeping well. Cheers from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada!💖🤗
Such a thoughtful comment!! 💛 Thank you, V C! Grateful for every day that comes ☺️ hope you are keeping safe and well during these times. I loved Vancouver when I had the opportunity to briefly visit a couple years ago!

I don't know why I'm watching this, I already live in London lol. Another thing worth mentioning is if you want to be part of a specific community (maybe for ease of access to religious services, religious schools etc) some areas of London have higher proportions of these communities. For example North/North West London areas like Golders Green up to Edgware ish has a big Jewish community. Other areas might have a big Asian community, or Muslim community etc. I know for some people having a strong support network through religious groups etc is often quite comforting especially when moving to a new city or even a new country. Obviously London is hugely diverse but it's worth knowing!
Hey there! I hope you don't mind me asking something. I wanted to ask you if London is tolerant towards immigrants. Recently I've heard a lot of bad things about UK regarding intolerance and hostility towards immigrants. I am an Indian Hindu. I am fluent in English and I will easily put on a British accent with little practice. I think I can easily integrate in English society and embrace the English culture. How likely is it for me to experience racism if I ever decide to migrate to London? Well, I am just 18 right now and studying software engineering, but I am asking in case I ever decide to move there in future. Thank you.
@@andrewjohnson9014 Hi! While I can't say you will never experience racism, in a hugely multi-cultural city like London it is probably less likely. The things you've seen I would guess are more aimed at the "illegal" immigrants who come here to seek a better life. And tbh the people who are racist against those immigrants or any other type of immigrants are ignorant and don't speak for us as a whole country. I think you'd be fine here, plenty of opportunities and a lot of fellow Indians you could communicate with. I found this which might be useful if you do decide to move to London, you can use it as a guide of where to look for accommodation? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_community_of_London
I’m only 13 and I plan on moving to London/Italy/or France. I know i have to pick one that’s why I’m taking my time. For now my top pick is London. I’m obviously not sure so I want to visit the places first before making sure. London, Italy, and Paris is literally beautiful. But people have said “it’s not as nice as you think, it’s horrible” I know nothing about moving to another country. Like how am I going to get a visa/pr, how to buy a house/apartment, how to do ANYTHING. Because I’m moving to Australia soon, from what I can see it’s very stressful for my parents
