Thanks Brett! Yeah, funnily enough I went through several room redesigns before I ended up back pretty much where I started, just with the addition of the kicker (well noticed btw!) and using my Fuji to record rather than my Nikon. Glad you like the colour grade!
Hi again Anthony! Great video, but you could have you tried the "Golden Hour" slider instead to achieve that warm summer evening look! 😺 What I was trying to ask in my previous post was the make of your new drone; I'm considering buying one. 😺 Regards from, Felix the Cat. 😺
It's DJI amzn.to/3y6wwe5 I'm really enjoying the lightness and small size of this one compared to my previous Phantom 4. For such a small drone and the price point it's got great quality and packed with features. Yes the golden hour slider would have been another option in the edit for sure. That's one of the things I love about Neo is there's not just one way to achieve a result. Nice to hear from you. Hope you're dong okay
Hi mate, looking forward to Spring just around the corner down here in Southland. Been trying to capture some Aurora hyperlapse with my Mini 4 Pro, but the clouds and wind haven't been playing the game. Thanks for the informative vid.
Yeah! C'mon Spring. I'm just sat having some lunch and welcoming the sunshine in through the window here in Rangiora. Hope you get some good shots with the drone! Mine is currently in repair after I fumbled my controller straight onto the concrete. D'oh!
@AnthonyTurnham oh no. I fumbled my S23 Ultra onto my concrete step the other day. Landed on a funny angle and chipped my screen making half of it black. Vodafone stopped their phone insure recently, just my luck, so I've now got the S24 Ultra which isn't much of an upgrade. Hope your drone fixed soon. You have DJI Care?
@@banditoo7 Okay, freaky sh*t. I replied to you, opened my email and top of my 50 new emails was... an update saying my drone was now repaired and on its way back. Nice. Secondly... just the other day I managed to drop my s23 Ultra the smallest distance imaginable but it dinked the edge of the screen, chipping it and causing a line through the display. Crazy couple of coincidences!
@AnthonyTurnham no way! That's freaky! Yeah I had a line too. A green one. Luckily I was able to rotate the screen to access my pin to do the data transfer to my new phone.
Great tutorial 👍I actually came to Skylum via their drone specific Air Magic software about 5 years ago. I loved the simplicity of that, but it soon became mothballed in favour of Luminar, then Luminar AI and now Neo, which gives almost too much choice when it comes to editing drone images sometimes. My experience after editing through all of those brought me round to using RAW, after avoiding it for a long time because I thought it was too technically challenging to edit, and eventually to realising that less is more. My drone shoots vary drastically from one to the next, so the process changes each time, but I do love the editing process in Neo now. I was guilty of defaulting to presets in the early days too and have bought all of the drone specific ones in that time, but I'd recommend avoiding those as they're way too over the top. A few tweaks in Camera RAW and then manual edits in Neo give me results that I'm happier with, but I appreciate that comes with time and presets served me well initially. Good that Skylum are highlighting the drone side of things and thanks again for all your Neo videos - I learn something new every time 😉
Thanks ☺️ I enjoyed reading about your journey with the software. And you're right, often a little goes a long way with the editing. I could have stopped after the develop tool 😆
Andrew it was a very detailed informative video for workflow & features of LN. I know you were demonstrating the various features but I think you took the edit just a little too far to be believable. Its a very dramatic example however of the capacity of the program. I will certainly be looking at my drone shots now to see how to use these features to improve them so thank you heaps.
Thank you Anthony, you have helped a lot with Luminar NEO. I recently bought the mini 4 pro, it's truly amazing technology . What would you recommend for basic video editing software? Please keep up the great content! Andrew
Hi Anthony. Very creative. A question for you. After all of the editing, what tool do you use to print? Luminar does not seem to have any soft proofing like lightroom
Hi. I'm using a dji Mini 4 pro. At time of recording I hadn't checked on profile availability. In this I just used the Luminar Default profile which is an "okay" profile starting point for most edits. I'll be copying over some profiles for the drone in due course though, and if I can't get them I'll create my own.
I noticed Luminar Neo automatically colour corrects my raw images before i even have the chance to do anything. Any ideas of how to prevent this? My raw nikon images remain untouched.
It sounds like it could be an issue with Neo not assigning the correct profile to the raw photo. If you search "profile" on my channel I did a vid about fixing this... but tbh I've not come across auto colour correction before. Let me know how you go...
Mate I take that on board. I've done that in some other videos but jeez it can be time consuming. I pulled an all-nighter getting this cut, edited and uploaded and by the time I'd made a thumbnail and written ghe description I was done. Bed was calling 🛌 But, yes I'll bear that in mind and I appreciate the feedback.
Was an extensive exploration of the tools, but I think gone too far from the original mate. Artistic but lost much realism? It has given me a kick to get my drone out again. 👍
Fair enough. I threw a lot at this one. Always difficult making the right aesthetic choices when part of my minds processor is focused on communication and vid recording. It's a balancing act that I often struggle with. I did another edit off camera that looked very different. Tbh, that's something I love with Neo, how I can tackle a photo on different days and it can end up going in a completely different creative direction depending how I'm feeling.
Should have kept the helicopter. Even cloned in more helicopters. Make it look like an invasion. Then use that local contrast to make the photo really high contrast to make it look like a sun-baked western dystopia. I'm joking here. That helicopter in the sky swap was hilarious. How did that make it past quality control? Nice edit, but a bit overdone for my tastes. It all depends on what you're going for in the end product. You ended up with something more fantastic, like The Secret Garden. Personally, I'd take about 20% off the top of what you did there and make it look closer to reality. I'd probably use one of your tricks from your previous videos and layer the original photo on top to reduce the overall effect of the edits. The one thing I didn't like was the shadows after you did the sky swap. The shadows of the grasses in the fore and middle ground lined up with the original sun location, but not with the swapped sun location. That needs to be the next AI tool Luminar releases: Shadow Match AI. When you move the lighting around in your picture, the shadows automatically adjust to match it.
Great thoughts and input about the edit! Thanks. Interesting idea about the shadow matching tech. Maybe a clever egghead at Skylum will read this and get to work on it (and who knows, maybe Add HelicopterAI! 😅)
Editing to some extent is fine but editing to change the entire photo is just so wrong... why take pictures using drone? just using AI tools and you could generate image the way you want.
Really helpful. Please do more drone photography edits.
I’m new to Luminar Neo and really having a lot of success taking my drone photos through the program. Love your channel and learning so much.👍
Great to hear. Thanks for watching 👀🙂🙏
Reading my mind, aren't you. Picked up a Mini 3 recently and welcome this video!🎉
When I got the Mini 4 I went for the "mind reading bundle". Money well spent 😅
Excellent!!! Thanks!
Glad you liked it! :)
Nice seeing you back. Great tutorial with all those tools applied.A real picture transformation.
Thanks 🙏 Good to get out some new content 👌🙌
Brilliant !

I usually send direct to my lab tbh. But I can print locally through LR, or the printers app 🖨
Are you using a DJI drone? If so, if you are using RAW, is there a profile under the develop tool? If not, which profile do you use?

Is the link for the full version of luminar or is it a drone focused version?
