    at 19:55 i think B is proximal convouluted tube yeah?

    • @itsBiologue
      @itsBiologue  2 года назад

      Yes you can write proximal convoluted tubule because that’s where the selective reabsorption of glucose happens but because it’s not specifically mentioned what substance is reabsorbed it might be safer to write in the lower end of the bowmans capsule - but if you do write your answer as well you will still get the marks 👍👍🤩
      Great work!! 👋

    thank you so much 🫶🏻 but i wanted to ask that at 15:25, you have written its via process of diffusion but you have also written this happens from a low to high conc but thats active transport? can u explain pls

    • @itsBiologue
      @itsBiologue  2 года назад

      I meant that diffusion will happen for the urea - from a high concentration in the patients blood to a low concentration in the dialysate (fluid) whereas for some essential salts that need to be selectively reabsorbed - we will use active transport against the concentration gradient back into the patients blood

    Hii, I had a doubt if the dialysis machine filters the components of blood like urea.. by diffusion then how is it from low concentration to high concentration?

    • @itsBiologue
      @itsBiologue  2 года назад +1

      It’s not - it’s from high concentration to Low concentration as the urea is filtered out of the blood and into the dialysis machine- the persons blood will contain urea which needs to be filtered out hence goes into the dialysis fluid - hope this clears your doubt 👍

    • @Lightslog
      @Lightslog 2 года назад

      oh okay i got it thank you so much!! i just asked because at 15:14 you wrote that it was from low conc to high conc

    • @itsBiologue
      @itsBiologue  2 года назад +1

      @@Lightslog ohh okay I meant that urea is from high to low and salts are from Low to high because some salts once the blood is filtered already are reabsorbed back - specially the useful days - thanks for pointing that out! 😊👍

    Heyy, do you know what series mean in igcse for all the subjects , because many past papers have series 1,2 what does this mean ?

    • @itsBiologue
      @itsBiologue  2 года назад +1

      Series 1/2 most probably would mean the paper number like for sciences example- biology there is paper 2, paper 4, paper 6 but I’m not sure about what “series” exactly you’re referring to..sorry about that 🥲

    • @emanahmad7163

    • @itsBiologue

      @@emanahmad7163 ohh yes variants are different based on where you’re going to take the exams from - for example in biology I took variants 22, 42 and 62- these are an example of variants for paper 2,4 and 6. have a doubt,so the question asked to write how dialysis machines filters blood so we should write how does the machine filters it right ?not about diffusion or anything right ?.its just my doubt ,no ofense .would lovve if you reply .btw this video was so so helpful for me make more videos on biology if possible it will help for my o levels this year .

    • @itsBiologue
      @itsBiologue  2 года назад +1

      “How” asks for the process by which filtration happens through the dialysis tubing - so diffusion is “how” the filtration actually happens or how particles pass through the selectively permeable dialysis tubing (through diffusion) - you can write about “What” substances are filtered but how is 100% diffusion

      Hi I’m not too sure - the Cambridge specification (official website) would be the best resource to confirm :)

  • @sahrishishaq9282
    @sahrishishaq9282 2 года назад

    u sound unsure about your own answer. You keep saying "maybe" or "you could" which arent quite the right words to use for an audience that wants to excel in bio. If u are unsure about ur answer, dont teach it to us. And if its out of habit and/or insecurity, please fix it. I am saying this for ur own good

    • @itsBiologue
      @itsBiologue  2 года назад +2

      There’s a difference between being unsure and using a wide range of answers. The marking guide as the name suggests is just a guide to show you possible answers you could’ve written, not all that are applicable - for bio some of the keywords are needed but its not like if you write another correct answer you’ll be penalised or something 😂 Similarly this video is just a guide to improve expression in the igcse biology exam- dont just follow it blindly :)
