Is this a good idea?

- I took the advise of my viewers and bought a swivel for the air hose to give me better control of the blaster gun.

Thanks for your effort, Dana, your smile, and giggle. You wear that tank-top very well.
I was praying you wouldn't slip with the Stanley knife when you were cutting towards you, a slip can be painful and I speak from experience and stitches! I always cut anything away from me these days. Well done with the further mod to your custom grit blaster, looking forward to any more that may follow.
Cut towards your chum, not your bum!
Never cut toward your thumb, always cut toward your chum :)
Omg I miss those shirts
One thing that really helps with these blasters is an industrial type vacuum unit to draw the rusty dust and paint that is freshly removed from the part. Its draw hose should connect to an upper back corner of the cabinet. It keeps the air in the cabinet much more clear when blasting. The blast media, being heavier, falls to the bottom of the tank for re-use, and is kept much cleaner. Also have plenty of clear mylar sheets to protect the surface of the window from fogging. Hope this helps Love.
Perhaps you should watch the video where I do my modifications to the original tank. However I'm using stainless mesh rather than those awful plastic sheets that came with it.
As mentioned above, was terrified as you used the utility knife. So glad when you finished. Always cut away, it’s so easy to slip and cut yourself. Got to be careful. Other than that, lovely video as always
Hello. Was holding my breath as you were using the knife. Glad no harm done. Great video as usual, can't get enough of your muscle shirts or your your coveralls. Please make more.❤❤❤
I think it worked wonders. Loved your muscle shirt. ❤
Great video Dana nice upgrade to your sandblasting hose with that swivel added to it. Thanks for sharing stay safe Dana and Gary.
Glad to see it's spring keep those outfits coming
Oh, I was on the edge of armchair when you cut that hose, exciting! And yes, that was a good mod, everything that can make those stiff hoses more plyable is a good mod. Big thanks Dana!!
I agree with the comments about your "ability " with the knife, very dangerous.Just a little tip which I've used for many years that is to apply a small amount of washing up liquid on inside of any rubber pipes and goes on much easier.X
You know " we liked it", as always.
Those beautiful side shots get me every time
I was absolutely terrified your tank top wouldn’t billow out! 😆😂 You’re doing a great job with the mods, just need go faster stripes now! 😂
Nice one Dana. Seems like that blaster would be handy when you need to strip old paint off of parts for new paint.
Thanks for brightening this rainy day 👍🏻🙂
I think that is a very good modification, I wonder how well the swivel system will last is the hostile gritty environment, you could/will, get the same swivel facility if you use a conventional air hose connector, I have one fitted on my air blast gun unit. Stay safe! Chris B.
Hi Dana, I don`t want to be critical but I don`t think that swivel fitting you have fitted is the correct type. I suspect its leaking air from the joint with the brass tail pipe. You need a sealed swivel fitting. However i can`t see it making much of a difference as the material pipe hasn`t got a swivel fitting.
Hot air gun to remove hose might have been easier? Hose in hot water for reassembly?
Looks a little easier on the hand. Good video.
I’ve been binge watching all of your videos ❤️
Another nice modification 😀👍 cool video 👏 very well done ❤️
The swivel is a good idea for sure 😊
Dana, back as we all love you ❤
You are so amazing ,,, Beautiful and informative what an awesome combination.
any bloopers this episode?
Perhaps have a look at foot peddle operated gun x
You certainly have a nice gritblaster cabinet. 👍 I was curious if you have ever used glass bead media? Perhaps there better media since I've used a sandblasting cabinet many decades ago.
I have grass bead, but I've not used it yet.
looking good as always
I do love your videos plus you are so clever.
Wonderful video Dana, but never, ever cut towards you with a Stanley knife. Always cut away from you. If you slip, your hands & fingers are in the firing line. Your videos are too good to have your fingers ruined. take care!
Great video Dana as usual. Love ❤
Loved your introduction 😅😅
Yes a great idea
What grit are you using
Aluminium oxide, at the moment
Well, now I gotta get me, one of those swivels...
You're holding the nozzle a little too close... To the piece your blasting... I always try to keep this distance about 4 inches... Try it you'll like it better..
Perfect shirt 😁
Never cut towards your thumb ..always cut towards your chum.
Beautiful shirt!!!😮😮
Always cut away from yourself!
Please be careful with that box cutter, I've seen some awful nasty wounds from them, just saying....
Great informative vlog but always use a sharp blade cutting away from your hands.
👍
That's the same crap gun that comes with the same cabinet from Harbor Freight (US) or Princess Auto (Canada). Ditch it and get the bottom syphon gun from Mike Tacoma... Then you only have one hose, a better gun and much better nozzles.... and a foot control.
That was a “Halloween moment” with the blade! Still the side view of you working made up for it! 😮😅
@5:35 ooof... she's going in dry... lol
I hadn't, I just didn't show me spitting on it on camera
God watch that knife remember that blade is always out to get you
Really enjoyed your videos on xhamster 🤪
Going to the kick back at Malvern?
Sadly, no. Maybe next year. However, if I manage to find the time, I will post an announcement on Instagram or Twitter.
I like the side 8oo8 😜
Yes it will.
Come to Chicago gorgeous! 🥰🥰 I'll take you out all over here and you won't have to pay for anything
I love mature women😍
Very beautiful
Pam Eyres eat yer heart out.
I needed a swivel….. ooo er Mrs
Buenisimo besoss😊😊😊
Not a mod for the blaster... Flop them mamarries out the shirt baby😅
Bikes have nothing to do with me watching this channel, LOL.
Love that muscle shirt….maybe you could go a size bigger and give us more mammary muscle….thank you Dana.
OOhhhh Matron....
it helps to add a link of saliva to the pipe to make it slide in with less effort 🥴
I love you. ❤❤
Always cut away from yourself !!!. No PTFE tape on the new fitting ?. Your standards are slipping.
your style of videos are back! great camera angles and a very informative video. looking forward to the next one.
I'm sure I wasn't the only one yelling at my TV! Please for all of us, cut away from your body! I love watching all of you unmarred. Wonderful content. I am new but trying to catch up to all past links. 😊
Looking good! Always cut toward your chum, and not towards your thumb - that could have been bad.
Yes as mentioned, cut away from you. It made me nervous. Looks to be a good modification. I wonder if there would be any advantage of having a swivel on the grit suction tube as well?
Wow very worried to see you using stanly knife like that, never have your other hand in front of the direction you’re cutting, if that slipped would be very nasty, lay the gun down on a scrap piece of anything ( unless you don’t mind cutting your nice table) hold gun down with left hand & cut from fitting to end of pipe onto your scrap material, much safer.
I wonder wouldn't you need to add some teflon tape to the swindle as well? the video introduction broke me.
had to watch it twice Gday from Australia Thankyou for the content
Nervous moments for the viewers with the knife, good job you were wearing the safety vest 😜
Bags of Fun for everyone....
Had to go to check up on your Only Fans page❤
Dana darling I love watching u in action because you’re so awesome and intelligent.
Never wanted to be a tee shirt more
youtube might punish you again. the only improvement you could make would be not to wear a shirt at all. just watch out with the knife. i liked it
Put the air gun handle in a vise next time, quite dangerous how you did that there. All the best. :)
More side shots with that shirt please😃
👍the best Shirt vor ever
Always known them referred to as sand blasters in the UK; sure it isn't the US term that is 'grit blaster'.
Hello Dana,
Great to find you back on RUclips
I would 100% have slipped and cut myself cutting off that tube, 😂
But of course you a experienced practical person, so you did that with ease
I could do with one of those for the work I’m currently doing on my Sprint GT se
Looking forward to many more videos
Take care,
Marc
I like your Socket Driver Handle , I've never seen one in 3/8 before , I have a few of the 1/4" , I like 1/4" for most things that I work on ; I'm worried about your safety as I watch you cut the hose , because you drawn the razor blade towards your wrist , I think you could have put a wrench on the barbed fitting as soon as you loosened the hose clamp , and if that wouldn't cooperate then cut away from yourself while holding it at arms length , then trim the damaged hose ; Actually I expected to see a Ball type swivel , not just a rotating one . I have a Harbor Freight Sand Blaster still in the box that I need to find room to set up , I plan to foil tape all the seams during set up , and now consider adding the swivel , maybe to both hoses . Well thanks for the Idea , Wish you the Best .
Wow! You are getting too fancy for me . . .
I've never had a swivel on any Sandblaster 😉 cabinet I have used . .
Thanks Dana, excellent as ever
K
Starting out being a bit cheeky, as always enjoy the content, learn something new. Hugs from across the big pond.
Celuloid sheet on inside of glass is easy fix for seeing work and just cut to size thentape round edges like picture frame ....glass lasts forever
Amazing Dana. Love you’re tutorials!
loved the video. the swivel looks like and improvement.
Looks like a good idea ! I need a sand blaster.
oooooooooh yes . love it xxxxxx
Another great video. Love the folding shelf you added to side. Great to see you in shop, any updates on the 400RR or Piglet?
News on the CBR coming soon
We had the same blast gun ,stopped working one day,the grit had worn away the brass air tip,we had one made in stainless never had the problem again (there a funny thread)
Mine are ceramic, but I'm sure they will wear
Do you think you would get even easier movement of the gun if the other pipe also had a swivel connector?
Probably
I have a similar blasting cabinet and have done mods like you have. I have seen others attach a computer fan with one blade removed and attched to the under side close to the media outlet to create vibration thus impoving media flow. Great idea but those computer fans arent designed for that purpose. My solution was to purchase a vibrating motor designed for that purpose. Awesome upgrade. 12volt, under $20 Australian online.
Yes, I have looked into something like that myself, but I don't have anything that vibrates that is suitable to attach.
@@bikerstuff2 😂😂
What did the sandblaster cost you, it’s a real nice one…
£240, I think
@@bikerstuff2 i’m sorry to bother you again, but what was the make and model of that one.? Never mind I found your video on it…have a good day..!
SGS SSB220, as far as I can remember
Quero voce
Love those swingers Dana ❤❤❤
