Which direction does the 2nd piece go on? Concave or convex toward the fabric. Can’t really tell. It looked different on other video.

But how do you get the hole? No vids show that. How does one use the hole punch dies?

There are only 2 pieces to the hole punch dies -- the top piece and the bottom piece. Insert them into the press, place your fabric between the dies, and press down.
