Something similar happened to me when crossing a road on a euc. Was planning to wait on the bank in the middle while some oncoming cars passed but one of the cars started violently honking at me as I was slowing down to dismount which startled me and caused me to slip almost causing the euc to roll into traffic by itself. Like dude I was already almost at a full stop and you were nowhere close to hitting me. There was enough distance that I could have easily crossed the street without even needing to wait if I floored it but decided it'd be safer to cross in sections. Like people are so focused on trying to avoid an accident they damn near cause one themselves.

What's the issue about a non-rental scooter? I guess its that companies are more likely to be compliant with the mundane laws, but that really just seems like giving a pass to corporations over individuals. Presumably since this means that rented scooters are fine, this means that they aren't as dangerous as being worth a 20 minute talk of which by owning a scooter you'd probably be more aware of than the renters?

Scooter laws are completely daft... Here in Denmark you are only allowed to go 20 kmph on the e-scooter but that is so slow that they get in the way of bicycles but at least the scooters are not illegal but there is certain rules for the scooters. One are to follow the bicycle rules, lights on all the time, give hand signals by turns and stop, max 1 person on the scooter, minimum age is 15, max speed 20kmph, white reflexes front, red back and yellow on the sides, max weight of the scooter 25 kilos. This of course makes the faster and more fun scooters illegal, yet! my Ninebot G30 Max is going 35 kmph and i have yet not been stopped or approached by the police. Where is the logic in riding rental scooters legally but not your own? people on rented scooters tend to be far worse riders and more careless then us who actually spend our own money on one.

I bought two Emove Cruisers in 2019 to bring awareness to my community on the alternate forms of transportation. My small city of 100k just does not think of using anything other than cars and trucks. Mostly with one occupant. I chose the Voro Emove Cruiser because of its advertised long range, hardiness, and speed. The range and speed are both exceptional. The hardiness is suspect. Voro sold both to me at wholesale price, $800 each since I was going to advertise their product. It was always a long shot in this community but worth a try. I made some riding videos which got plenty of views and fielded lots of curious questions. I have been able to send some referrals to Voro from those videos and conversations. Voro said they would pay me a small commission but in each case, I had to go to Voro asking why the commission payments stayed pending for six months after the sales.
Voro claims to be diligent in their pre shipping checks and high quality is supposedly the Voro watchword. When my two Emove Cruiser's arrived; both boxes were heavily damaged and literally smelled like garbage. Like they had been stored in a garbage can and not some quality warehouse. Upon opening the boxes, both scooters had dislodged screws just rattling in the boxes. I had to use some of my own hardware to fix parts. Voro said they would send replacement parts but never did. Its been over a year now.
I also ordered two accessory seats. Both installed ok but one has never worked correctly. The seat does not secure in a fixed position and will slowly lower during a ride. Voro would not correct this issue.
After riding about 300 miles of reasonably easy trips my wifes scooter started this weird squeaking noise from her back shocks. I tried lubing the shock shafts and then just swapped them with the shocks on my scooter and the squeaking stopped for a time. After another 300 miles on my scooter, the squeaking has returned.
My scooter rear tire has started a slow leak and I have to refill before each ride. There are no screws or nails protruding so not sure where the leak is.
Overall, the scooters themselves have been fun but since I have never bought another brand, that is as far as I can go with comparisons. The Voro company though has a lot to be desired.

It makes no sense, why there is no seperate insurance for escooters but only for rentals. What makes that more legit or safe?
You carry the same mass or even less than an ebike. Go about the same speed depending on the type of escooter.
Why is it that governments make a seperation between vehicles if it has a motor, eventhough they go the same speed, and have the same weight.
    Its just so stupid.
"Yea just take an e-bike" well, that is less fun than an escooter mate, and you can't take it with you in public transport.
And give people the freedom to choose how they travel.

Ease of transportation should not be outlawed. That is an unjust and authoritarian stance to take in the UK. I bet if people could hypothetically fly freely on their own, that would probably be one of the most regulated and taxed actions a person could take. Freedom of travel should be ubiquitous.

Hey Andrew just a correction regarding your tires. They do have air. They are tubeless pneumatic, the same type that cars use. Ensure to keep the PSI around 50 to avoid flats, you can also add slime/tire sealant to the tires.

No offence, but in Germany, the way the policeman stopped you, you jump off your scooter, and then sue him for your "accident"... That´s why it´s also anyway forbiden to do so, as a policeman, over here in Germany... At least you weren´t fined for all that Speed that you´ve taken, and were mumbling about constantly...

Luckily most of them don’t care and very rightfully so. Sadly they have forces out now that have a sole objective of stopping scooters. They need to make driving illegal instead, or at least being a single person in a 4 seater vehicle is highly unwelcome to say the least. You quite rightly said that the immediate benefits far outweigh any of the potential dangers.

Diabolical, Not As If You Were Driving Like a Maniac & Causing Chaos, I have a Kugoo M4 Pro & I was also told to take it to the local Scooter shop to get the speed Restricted to 15mph, Honestly I can't see them getting Legalised in Scotland, The Roads Are Deadly, Full of Potholes & we all know how hitting a pothole can Throw You Off or under a bus. Unless They Resurface the Cycle Lanes Like The Smooth Blue Cycle Lanes Down South / London. Anyway Rant Over, Liked n Subscribed From Glasgow, Be Safe

Hey just to warn you,the Met Police have just announced a zero tolerance clampdown on all e-Scooter stating on the 1st of August. Basically they pull you, no more cautions, instant six points on your driving license and £300.00 fine, instant seizure of your e-scooter, but this time you can’t retrieve it from the pound for £150.00, this time, they are now going to recycle the battery packs and crush the rest. So you got off quite lucky to be fair.
The news regulations won’t now be announced until parliament back don’t sometime in November, so just be very careful until then.

I like the sound of cruise control, as I guess the hand could start hurting if it is on it to much, but it obviously better if one could choose to lock it in cruise control, so it dont automatically lock it to whatever speed, as obv it needs to be safe so u can slow it down if needed
