So I followed the tutorial and I got the skybox to work, but using the "IS SKY" option made the skybox translucent and you could see everything behind it. Not sure what caused this, but I was able to get around it by turning off "IS SKY", keeping the other material settings the same and then turning off "Cast's Shadows" in the sphere mesh settings, as well as setting the Collison mesh to "no collision". If anyone else had this issue, hopefully this helps!
I am currently far along on my first project and was wondering how to do this. Thank you for another great video. They help beginners like myself get our bearings. I started off being clueless, but now I'm not too far off from actually publishing a game with UEFN.
If Tim Sweeney said verse is the future of UE6 then we are gonna need you on the epic documentation team! Hope you become a big figure over the next few years thanks for coming back with some bangers
Excellent tutorial. Very similar steps I used in a prior project. One extra tip for those that like to go really big. Your sky might disappear at certain distances. For example if you go to the edge of your map, your entire sky might just disappear. This is the rendering distance of the mesh. You need to select the mesh and change the rendering distance in the details panel. Depending on how big your landscape is, you may need to make this a very high number. For my projects in the past, I've set my skyboxes to about 100k and that works.
@@XraiFn With the sphere or box selected, scroll all the way down to the bottom in the details panel (default right side). The section you're looking for is LOD and the setting is Desired Max Draw Distance. You can also search for that setting by searching "Draw" in the details search bar.
Thank you for the amazing video/tutorial ,and showing skybox ai! The creativity of this and what it can produce is honestly such eye candy! I left a subscription and when I have free Time I am so watching your videos just to increase your watch time and support the channel further!
Verse, I hate that language and I know Python, js, go, java 😅. Could you make a tutorial where a 3 dimensional array of floating rocks gets spawned and these rocks are switching positions with each other (by flying from point to point) ? I was unable to make it work because verse gets lost in attempt to run it (not me gets lost! The functions of what's available for us in uefn, seems can't do that) 😭
If anyone runs into the problem where their sphere disappears after you click for placement, you gotta hit ENTER. I was trying to just click to place then go up back to selection mode and it would vanish every time. After you click to set it down, you need to hit enter. It will then give you the XYZ Axis handles to move the placement and you can then jump back to selection mode or w/e you wish.
Great tutorial! I have a question is it possible to change the skybox in game in real time? Like if I use a button it will change to another skybox? Thank you
very helpful video, i just have one question. is it possible to make a sphere with a skybox material that when shot at changes the skybox? i want multiple skyboxes and a way for the user to change them when they want
Do you know if there's a specific setting or quality that would make the HDR image not act in the manner you showed? For instance, one texture and material I made (using the Nvidia tool) refused to show itself from inside the sphere. The second texture and material I used did show, exactly as you showed in the video. All settings in the material were exactly the same. Thanks for the tutorials!!
Great tutorial, it worked for the most part. But currently experiencing a major issue, my skybox shows in UEFN and looks fine with no problems, however when I start the game the skybox is not there at all in-game. Do you have any ideas or anything that would make the skybox actually visible in-game since I followed all the steps. Thanks.

I know this is a dumb question, but can you guys give a tutorial for simple game modes like payload or capture point? I’ve already looked for tons of tutorials on the topic, but the problem is that they’re super out of date because Fortnite got rid of their channel system and replaced it with the system. so I can’t even complete of these tutorials because of the channels are removed.
