Unfortunately, that holiday season was overshadowed by the blockbuster hit Saturday Night Fever, and was also the first year without Bing Crosby and Elvis Presley, so you heard Blue and White Christmas A LOT if you were listening to the radio that year. And radio stations would scoff at the thought of pressing the "Santa" button 24/7 before the Thanksgiving turkeys are dead. You only heard non-stop Christmas songs on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day back then, with a sprinkling of sleigh bells of one, two, maybe three an hour for a few weeks before then (but always after Thanksgiving), so there wasn't much time for these singles to grow and become a hit. Just two years later, disco was quickly on the way out and this was relegated to the curiosity bin. 1977 had some other great seasonal songs such as The Kinks' Father Christmas, Sonic's It's Almost Christmas, and The Ravers It's Gonna Be A Punk Rock Christmas, but the only song from that year that you typically hear these days is The Carpenters' version of the classic "chestnut" The Christmas Song.
Just came across this by accident. Thanks Mikey! BTW, Greg Carmichael had nothing to do with the arrangement or production. He stuck his name on because it was his label. That's showbiz.
I am so happy I found this tonight.

This should've been a number one billboard hit. There is no justice.
