Julie: I love you! Your videos and tips are the best. Today I was cleaning/organizing my craft closet, and came across Joe’s book “The Art and Tales of a Sojouner”. The dedication made me cry. I could hear Joe saying those words. What a wonderful person and inspiration he was. Happy that you continue the good work.

Always good to see a new post from you, Julie. I’m studying my catalogue at present for a small top up shop for fall, and gosh now I’ve GOT to try those three Am. Journey colours! Take care. Susan

I’d love a philosophical/life advice video of Ask Julie! I remember a great video about identifying as a creative person! It was brilliant!

I like the 37 ml tubes and American Journey and Da Vinci brands are my go to paints when looking for the colors I use all the time. I might need to try that little Fabriano pad too!!!!

Love the water cup on your table-- little scallops can hold a brush between strokes... Is that in the catalog?

It’s been several years since I’ve watched you Julie. We must be the same age. My face has aged same amount as yours since I last tuned in.

Yes, we will. If you have a recent purchase you will get one via mail. If not, they are always available online. You may also request one thru customer service. This will be out around October. Thanks for asking! 😊 Julie

I wish Julie would do a demo on how to swatch so you get the colors like on the pad in the video (from the intense to the light wash). I keep trying but cannot get the range to show (I get either all intense or all real light.) Frustrating.

Use cotton paper. Lightly wet the swatch area, then apply the full thickness paint across the top and gradually add a little more water at the edge, pull it down, add a little more water and pull it down, etc. You can do it!!!!!

Use cotton paper. Wet the swatch area and then take the full strength pigment on a damp brush and make the mass tone. Then rinse brush and lightly damp it off and pull down the edge of the mass tone, rinse brush, damp off and pull down the next edge, etc. It's just adding more water to the full pigment similar to a graded ( gradient) wash).
