Like they say be careful about the walls you want built because others may throw up walls hiding something you dont want hidden - THE CIVIL WAR WAS UGLY BUT IT HAPPENED AND OUR CHILDREN SHOULD KNOW THE TRUTH FROM BOTH SIDES - IT IS A PART OF AMERICAN HISTORY BUT TO ERASE CERTAIN PARTS IS NOT ALLOWING OUR GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN TO KNOW THE TRUTH - LINCOLN WAS AN AWESOME PRESIDENT AND THE GENERALS ON BOTH SIDES WENT TO WEST POINT TOGETHER AND THE WERE GREAT LEADERS .... there were heroes on both sides - i was watching a documentary on slaves being bought and sold in New York City but of course the north wants that erased because they want people to believe slaves were only in the south 😂😢😂😢 it is sad but laughable how they want our great great grandchildren to only know half truths and i want mine to know the WHOLE TRUTH ...

No disrespect...but that’s foolishness. I do understand the term “church” in the scriptures does not mean an actual bldg however Jesus said, “Upon this rock, I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH.” There is one founder and one church and surely Harriet Tubman is not that founder. It’s the Lord Jesus Christ. And according to the scriptures...to claim to be “Christ Like” mean we should have the same spirit as the prophets and Apostles in the scriptures, who all preached one message and one gospel which was Holiness! Not nay one of them went off and started a denomination nor did any of them name churches after themselves or any other person. That’s why us so called “christians” error. Not knowing the scripture. Again, no disrespect to you.

Caucasians will never be able to be a part of our ancestors' Ma'afa story - - beyond being THE CAUSE and perpetrators of slavery and the Ma'afa - - until "they" see themselves as PART of US.
"Race" will always be an issue in the USofA because "they" continue to see themselves as separate/distant from the hue-man beings their ancestors enslaved and continuing to live off of the privilege that was made possible for THEM by way of the suffering, sweat & toil endured by MY ancestors.

In her honor i think it would be nice to be able to walk as far as she did and wearing similar clothes and going through streams or whatever she endured on her first journey but sadly we will never be able to know how scared she was during that journey because she had to fear people and the environment and animals and she had to get out of there fast so i cant imagine how fast her heart was beating and her brain racing with all kind of thoughts of what would happen if she was caught - we will NEVER know how it felt to be her that day and how many of us could have done what she did? I dont think too many could - God had a plan for her from the moment she was BORN! She fulfilled that plan and made a nation PROUD!

It's amazing that the word freedom has free in it but still comes at a cost, they paid for it! Wish I could tell their descendants thank you for your family member sacrifice.

It is hard because it is a different form of slavery now. The mind is still enslaved, especially in the families. Such as being paid to remain in the ghetto. If you stay on the system, they think you will not want to go out in the real world. So the masses teach their children how to live off the system.

I remember as a young child in the very early grades of elementary school, so 1st, 2nd or 3rd grade, began learning about slavery & ran home crying to my mom, telling her what I had learned, so I as a little young white girl, knew that slavery was not right & it was so absolutely cruel & that’s when President Lincoln became my all time favorite President because he started the movement to free all slaves...America is the land of the free!!!

I love that they acknowledged her belief in the GOD of the Bible. Many of these Black people who rebelled against slavery, were men and women of that GOD. It's a history that some try to erase.
