Friends are such a special kind of relationship because they are in essence the family you choose. It’s worth honoring that choice with clear communication about what your limits are so that you can exist in a dynamic that is beneficial for both you and your friends.
Setting boundaries with your friends is an act of self-acceptance and self-love. It is how you show your friends that you understand and value yourself.

My friend saids I don't respect her boundaries and when I tried to apologize to her via text she said I was harassing her since then and it's only been a few days but give her a 30 day rule no texting no social media with her even deactivating my accounts just to show her how serious I will start respecting her and her boundaries

Thanks Crystal for this I am having difficulty with my family and boundaries.They will not abide to boundaries.They take so much for granted.My friends respect my boundaries but not family.I am 69 and it’s as if I am 45. Thanks again for your advice.

I have relatives in the Caribbean. They have a very nice house. I visited them, sat on the varandah (balcony) sweating bullets and no one offered me a glass of water. There are fruits galore and cherries were in season, never offered me anything. I kept sending money for Easter and Christmas, twice one asked me for money for vacation in Canada. All this time, they have never considered me to send a text to say "Happy Birthday." The text only this years after after 9 years of constant giving. I do not care to see them, visit them, they just turn me off. Talk about love but don't care to learn about love. I am just a Santa Clause and an ATM to them.
Communicate this to them.
Some people only know how to receive but don’t know how to give but will change if you call their attention to it

I know how to set boundaries. A woman from my church invited me somewhere on Christmas Day. We returned to her house but I did not know her boyfriend was gong to be there. I had no idea they drank , In addition where we got born again, drinking is a no no plus there were alcohols in home and dad was not, was not born again. I thougt it was the norm. Her boyfriend asked me three times, 30 minutes intervals if I want a drink. I said NO! NO! NO! I thought to myself this man is so disrespectful. I had no reservations, I do not drink at all.
