This summer, I had the amazing opportunity to spend time in my home country, Bulgaria, along the beautiful seaside. I was born and raised in Burgas, but we stayed at my family’s beach house, just south of the city, where the beaches are wild, serene, and absolutely stunning. My fiancé and I were lucky enough to enjoy this special time with family, soaking up the sun and indulging in some fantastic food.
We visited charming coastal towns like Primorsko and the ancient town of Nessebar, each offering their own unique beauty and culinary experiences. From fresh seafood caught daily from the Black Sea to traditional Bulgarian dishes like shopska salad, tarator (cold cucumber soup), and grilled meats like kebapche and kyufte, we had a delicious journey through Bulgarian cuisine. We also couldn’t resist the homemade banitsa and local honey-soaked baklava for dessert!
It was a summer filled with family, sun, and the unforgettable flavors of Bulgaria, a true culinary adventure on the beautiful Bulgarian coast. Come along with me as I share everything I ate and experienced during this special holiday!
