I don't even play the game yet and I figured that out just looking at the door in the video. It was obvious. The only part to figure out through experimenting is whether the first symbol is 0 or 1.

This every streamer is like you need cheat sheet and bs when it's right there in front of you. Makes me laugh how they are overlooking it. Main reason I honestly didn't want to follow these guides or videos before I play cause the advice they give sucks and you can just figure out yourself.
I can't remember smiling so much while playing a game in a long time. I have been in full collector mode level 16 and have yet to fully venture out into the world.
Number one big mistake is opening a chest while gear if fully loaded. You won’t get the gear at all, you won’t know what you got, the chest would be locked until you get back with an empty slot. The worst part is that item will be level locked so if you open a chest at level 5 and return to it while at level 20 you still get the level 5 gear, instead of lvl 20 as if you would open it for the first time.
@Inksday they aren't saying you won't get get gear from the chest, they are saying that if you interact with it while at a low level and then leave it for later, it will still be the same level when you interacted with it. Therefore don't touch the chest unless you have space or want gear for the current level
@Inksday he’s talking about the big chests. If you have your gear full and open it, it won’t give you the item and locks itself. And doesn’t open again until you respawn.

My inner Ravenclaw had me figuring out the number puzzle as soon as prof Weasley let me free after the intro (i tried when she was leading me around but had to follow because of the escort quest)). There are clues in the images that let you know what the order is as well. To name a few, Unicorn = 1 (1 horn), 3 headed dragon = 3, 5 limbed thing (haven't seen what it is called yet) = 5, spider = 8 (8 legs), and the hydra looking one at the end = 9 (has 9 heads) Also, Im a software developer and arrays start at 0
I wish I figured this out earlier 😆I have opened 4 doors so far just doing every combination until it randomly opens because I kept getting the number sequence wrong, my solutions just never worked. My problem was that I was counting from 1, not 0 the whole time. Ugh, no wonder it didn't work, I never considered it would start from 0! Thank goodness I only used up time on only a few doors and not all of them lol.

Arn, the silver arrow broom seller will appear SOUTH of the Central Hogwart Valley fast travel, other side of the bridge. Still has the broom, even if you don't get it right away. Hope it helps!
I've seen vids telling you that it's okay to sell your lower end gear for money. Said that not only is everything saved as a transmog (image that can be chosen to cover items for looks) when you pick it up, but that you should make sure to have enough room to collect items from chests. If you don't have room for the item when you open the chest, it's currently closing again and locking the item inside yo the stats for the level you *were* when you first opened it. So when you go back later, if you were level 8 when you first found it, but now you are level 20, it's still a level 8 stat item.
Just play the game how you feel you need to, don't worry about playing the most efficient way, thats what keeps the stress off, you're not in competition
@@dustinstrid1199 it's not about competition tho. From what I've seen, they say gear can make a huge difference as to how your game plays. Especially at higher difficulty levels (since many folks insist on playing on hardest difficulty lol) plus the rng seems to need you to sell your old gear and equip the best in slot. Bit like getting lower iLevel gear from map dalies in BfA because your iLevel of gear wasn't high enough. Not telling anyone how to play, just sayin that may be the reason they aren't getting the stuff they are looking for.

The one mistake you are making is not playing the side missions! I only play the main missions when I’m bored or there’s nothing to do. I’m at level 27 and I just met Sebastian and his friend Ominous
This is how I plan to play the game. Focus on the main missions only when absolutely necessary, especially after map chamber (before that I want to focus on main story so I can actually unlock things) and probably spend most of my time working on my field guide.
Thankfully I tempered myself starting out: do one or two tiers of an available challenge and then move on. There are a LOT of places to lost in if you let yourself wander...
What happens if you refuse to help the Weasly student? Do you still get the side quest later. The main reason I'm asking is because I didn't help him in potions.
The alohomora puzzle is very easy with a controler. Just activate vibration and spin the joistics until the controler starts vibrating... If you have an Xbox or PS controler, the vibration its even divided in two sides of your controler, each side for each joystick. I never need more than 4 secs to do a alohomora puzzle, while on keyboard and mouse its a nigthmare
They might have patched Arn or something. I barely had over 5000 when I first saved arns carts. Made it back to him and he said something about having the rest of his wares when his cart is back and only let me buy potions/ingredients. I followed him all the way to the end of the trail spamming buy from him until he disappeared/folded in on himself. I guess I'll just have to find him or use the gold on some medium/large pots lol

You should make a top 10 dlc ideas seeing as you have player a significant amount of the game. Off the top of my head: Quiddich, Triwizard Tournament, Wizard infiltrating the goblin rebellion like Barty Crouch Jr acting as Mad Eye Moody complete with melee axes and swords, Chamber of Secrets/Philosophers stone dungeons complete with the Basalisk, Cerebus, and Chess game, Azkaban inflitration, quests regarding the secrets of each hogwarts founder especially Godric/Salazar, Graduating and becoming an Auror, and additional dark arts mastery where you can learn fiendfyre or additional light quests where you can learn a animal Patronus

@@MuffHam you need the Disillusionment spell. You'll learn it in the secrets of the restricted section quest. Once you can use it stay a few meters away from the chests, cast the spell and get near them. Then you can open them.
I quit this game for the simple reason of not being able to WALK around Hogwarts. You are forced to run and the toggle walk button only semi works. Basically the game decides for you when you can run or walk fully. No matter how much i want to just walk around, it MAKES me run whenever it want. That's a big enough emersion killing glitch to make me quit any game.

1:50 WHAT! There's a guide for the solution! That just goes to show how bad at math people have become! I figured it out in a couple of minutes, there are 10 symbols. We use the decimal system for counting (0-9). The door I found first had 0 as part of the puzzle so I assigned the symbols 0-9 going clockwise/left to right. SIMPLES. The main problem is people nowadays use a calculator for the simplest things plus more & more kids can't tell the time on an analogue clock as I found out when my neighbor's daughter's asked me how I knew what the time was (I refurbish/restore mechanical pendulum clocks & have 7 in the front room alone). I thought they were kidding until their dad told me they only knew how to tell time on a digital clock! They're 12 & 14yrs old! On the plus side they really know how to use a mobile phone and helped me set mine up properly, plus showed me a few tips with the computer to optimize performance. I taught them both how to tell time properly on analogue clocks.

Even when I release accio my character doesn't let go of it. I literally let go of all buttons as soon as I cast it, and it still ends up falling over the edge
you have to fully release the "wand ready" button which changes depending on your platform but its the R2/RB2 on controllers. Accio is maintained as long as you're holding that button down even if you release the spell slot button
@Dustin Strid yeah it sucks. Unfortunately I didn't have any manual saves and was 4 to 5 hours into the game. Regular chests work fine, just those ornate ones give me the problem. Now I double check that I have room before opening one.

You don't need the page with the numbers to open the door. Just count them on the door starting with 0. They are always in order.

Those doors don’t require any “pages”. The symbols on the door are 0-9 in the order of the arch of symbols.

The sweet spot for the locks is always in one of the eight cardinal directions. Once you realize this the lock minigame becomes much easier.
I have noticed the automatic feeder doesn’t always work. Sometimes they don’t eat until I enter.

It affects some of the side-quests you can do, I believe, and some dialogue is changed based on your house.
Dialogue I think. What house you choose changes some interactions with characters but that’s it I believe.

When dealing with your animals, pull up the beasts UI and click on one to have it appear before you rather than chasing them down.
Basically don’t open every large chest or eye chest you see until you need a upgrade. Or have room in inventory
Eye chests always have 500 Gold in them and no gear. I'd say open them as soon as you can.

@@MuffHam you need the Disillusionment spell. You'll learn it in the secrets of the restricted section quest. Once you can use it stay a few meters away from the chests, cast the spell and get near them. Then you can open them.

I quit this game for the simple reason of not being able to WALK around Hogwarts. You are forced to run and the toggle walk button only semi works. Basically the game decides for you when you can run or walk fully. No matter how much i want to just walk around, it MAKES me run whenever it want. That's a big enough emersion killing glitch to make me quit any game.
If you are inside of a trial, don't save before opening chests as sometimes you will have to fight the enemies again.
You actually don't need the guide for those symbol doors simply count 0-9 from own to the squid and that's the number

That just goes to show how bad at math people have become!
I figured it out in a couple of minutes, there are 10 symbols.
We use the decimal system for counting (0-9).
The door I found first had 0 as part of the puzzle so I assigned the symbols 0-9 going clockwise/left to right.
SIMPLES.
The main problem is people nowadays use a calculator for the simplest things plus more & more kids can't tell the time on an analogue clock as I found out when my neighbor's daughter's asked me how I knew what the time was (I refurbish/restore mechanical pendulum clocks & have 7 in the front room alone).
I thought they were kidding until their dad told me they only knew how to tell time on a digital clock!
They're 12 & 14yrs old!
On the plus side they really know how to use a mobile phone and helped me set mine up properly, plus showed me a few tips with the computer to optimize performance.
I taught them both how to tell time properly on analogue clocks.

I got a question. Are their any consequences for using the dark arts. I just started yesterday. Initially I wanted to do one good and one bad Charackter, but everyone is telling that the dark arts are so much more fun. Is there special endings if you chose to be evil or does it just affect your spells?

From what I understand, no impact to the storyline but some NPCs might talk differently about you when you’re around them.
Theres not really a "bad" side so to say..u cant even really be mean to people ur always respectful
@@TheOneTrueModthats not true, ive responded nasty to ppl after finishing their questlines, i finished cressia's book quest, and blackmailed her into paying me for retrieving them by saying id reveal her diary if she didnt, may not affect much other than dialogue but you can definitely be mean, ive done it plenty

Even when I release accio my character doesn't let go of it. I literally let go of all buttons as soon as I cast it, and it still ends up falling over the edge
you have to fully release the "wand ready" button which changes depending on your platform but its the R2/RB2 on controllers. Accio is maintained as long as you're holding that button down even if you release the spell slot button

Don't open the ornate chests with a full inventory of gear. You get nothing from the chest that way
Yrs u do. Just delete somthing and try again, that's what I did
@Dustin Strid it wouldn't let me try again. I deleted 2 items and the chest was already open, reloaded the game and the chest was already open.

@Dustin Strid yeah it sucks. Unfortunately I didn't have any manual saves and was 4 to 5 hours into the game. Regular chests work fine, just those ornate ones give me the problem. Now I double check that I have room before opening one.
bruh i refused the request of that Weasley guy and told him that i don't want to get in trouble with professor sharp the only time i refused to help someone in my play through and that has to be the important one lmao actually even after refusing i felt bad so i stole the feather and i started the dialogue with him but he never asked me and my character didn't tell him that he had that feathers he wanted now! lmfao REEEEEEEEEEE
