OMG - Thank you so much for posting this! I have tons of footage from my Mini 2, but have been struggling with a good way to bundle it up and present it. This is a great jumping off point for me. Another great video. I have been using LumaFusion and Power Director for just over a year on both iPad Pro & Windows. I guess its down to preference and I prefer Power Director for too many reasons to mention here. Keep up the great videos. Appreciated.
Awesome , whichever works for you and then master it. For me I’ve used fcp for years, I could do it in my sleep but I like learning new skills and mastering a different editor prog is good esp for those who want a good editor without a laptop - cheers

Thank you I’m gonna do more editing videos on a few different apps. So I get my memory card and transfer it all to my ssd in a folder that I can name and date. I then edit off the SSD direct

I would need to some how transfer from the drone to the iPad, then save to SSD, which I think I would do using the DJI app to ‘fast transfer’ (can’t remember what it’s called 🤪 ) to my phone, save in Photos, grab the iPad and edit in LumaFusion! I started on iMovie it’s a great base to edit but it gets limiting really fast , it’s great to learn on tho but for editing with decent updates lumafusion is the best. Completely my opinion and lumafusion have no idea I’ve done this video, I just get this question asked a lot. Then when you take off you could invest in Final Cut Pro in the future

Darren I picked up a new issue with the latest Dji fly app today. Well at least for the Samsung s20. Every single telemetry on the app stops working, only the video feed works. Have to close the app and reopen to work again. Happened twice during the same flight. Sigh!
Yes the biggest issue I had with the DJI fly app was the inability to export at 4k, drag and drop and select multiple clips at once - this is really handy to use

Hi Darren, Sorry to go off topic. I'm getting Gimbal Calibration Error Code 40011. Spoke to DJI went through calibrating IMU, Compass & Gimbal. Still getting the Issue DJI have asked me to send it back to them for repair. Did you have to send back to the Netherlands via UPS? I'm getting confused will all the paperwork so as to get through customs. You mentioned on a previous video you sent your Mini2 back to DJI. Did you have to go through all these hoops? For "on the go" editing, this looks like a great option. But, if you want/need something for use on a desktop/laptop, I'd HIGHLY recommend checking out Adobe Premiere Elements...it's inexpensive, and VERY easy to use.

How do you actually import the footage? Just drag and drop it onto the SSD from the DCIM folder on the SD card or use photos to import. I just got a new iMac I’m trying to figure out the best way to get everything moved over
So you use a mac laptop ? Easiest way then just remove the memory card and put it into your laptop memory card slot , then edit directly or drag those files onto a ssd

I’m struggling with lots of connectors to get my footage off my SD card into my iPad so I can then save into an external hard drive. Your ‘gizmos’ make it look easy. Will definitely look at the edit software. Cheers.
Ha thank you ! Yes getting a good card reader is essential I’ve tried a few and many don’t work, the dongles I use handle the sd cards brilliant, the cable creation one doesn’t have a card reader tho
I just sold my iMac 5k 2014.. Do you think getting a 2022 ipad pro with a mini 3 pro would be a good combo? All I do is piece together family vacation drone footage really.

Why is LF media so confusing. 1. If using an external SSD for all my files Does my project reside on the SSD or still in Luma fusion? 2. I noticed on the iPhone under Help and Settings>Preferences> There is No switch for External Drive Editing. ( like is does on the iPad) Does this mean on the iPhone LF copies all the media into cache even off an external drive being linked ?? Thanks for any helpful info
Apologies for the 'newbie' question but is there a reason that you prefer 24fps as opposed to 25 or 30fps when with ND filters you could shoot at 30fps and use 1/60s SS to stick to the 180° rule?

This is wear the magic happens & not a process I really enjoy. I used to take loads of footage but you just get more confused. Plan your flight footage but I'm still rubbish at editing.
My main problem with LumaFusion, is that they have no available music. You have to import your own music and most people don't realize that. Even KineMaster has music with their free version. I don't believe LumaFusion will ever add music if they haven't by now
You do have some music options which are free and some free sound effects , I use soundstripe for my music as I was tired of trying to find free music which was decent
Well i dont agree at all my 2 laptop have SD reader one that needs card reader and more over on my new computer has a slot for it , that being said if shooting in 4 K you absolutely need a Micro SD reader thats SDX USB3.0 reader that can handle that other wise you be waiting a long time to downlo9ad your vids Darren
Totally off subject. I’ve watched a couple of your videos where you kinda rant that you can’t believe when people talk about losing connection with their drones at a short distance. You then fly 50m+ high around Blackpool showing you don’t lose signal. Let me assure you I have these problems with a mini 2 and air 2. Today it was a clear sunny day and I set the screen record going. I elevated to 100m and flew approx 500 m before I lost signal and connection, so bad was the fact it wouldn’t reconnect, because I’m lazy I had to jump in the car and drive to where the drone was. It still didn’t reconnect until almost totally under it. Your other videos are interesting but I had to comment on this issue, you couldn’t believe

Luma is great app and working even smoothly on iPad 9. But DaVinci Resolve entered the chat and now it seems gamechanger over Luma for iPads...

I find the footage is smoother, I normally shoot at 24 or 25fps 1/50 shutter iso 100

Great tips, I use Luma Fusion too. I got caught out trying to slow a clip too much and noticed it was stuttering and not easy on the eye.
If you want to slow down film at 60fps and use a 30fps timeline or 24fps time line will look great then
