People are way too harsh on this film, yes I know Zelger did some stuff and said some not so great things but she doesn’t deserve the hate and this looks faithful to the original. Lilo and Stitch I’m more excited for, but this one… it has potential but we’ll have to see
People are just too frustrated nowadays and are looking for a something or someone to blame for...basically everything. Rachel said that the story is a bit dated and somewhat problematic and that Snow White is not really the heroine of her own story and people just took an offense to that immediately, because they once again took it as "woke Holywood attacking conservative values" when in the story a guy literally kisses a corpse, just because he finds "it" beautiful...well woke or not, that is PROBLEMATIC with 2024/2025 standards and would not play out right on screen. She is also right that in the original Disney adaptation SW does not do much, she flees, gets accepted by the dwarfs, gets poisoned, dies, the dwarfs defeat the evil queen while she gets kissed by the necrofile prince, very similarly to Sleeping Beauty, in which Aurora has a total of some 8 minutes of screen time and only a couple of lines of dialogues, so if Disney wanted to make an adaptation focusing on Aurora and not Maleficent, they would had to stray quite far from the original material, which they did anyway. Not to mention how far the Disney animated features strayed from their source materials, the original fairy tales, yet no one hated on them, for implementing changes, they just accepted as they were and are now considered "classics"...It is ridiculous that people are looking at everything through a political lense and try to make a statement out of everything. My heart goes out for Rachel, who is such a multitalented performer and does not deserve all the hate she's getting!

Actually it doesn’t have to do well in the box office as much as most of the new movies and they did not do reshoots. This is a fake news from the haters. They did only the same amount of shots in London as any other movie did for editing. Why it doesn’t have to do well? Because of the same reason they always mentioning the old movie to hate on her. This is an IP. It’s not only a box office movie. Sure they will be happy if it gets a lot of money (never forget it’s not only USA…) but the IP worth a billion dollars more. From the merch, music, Disneyland to royalties… over the decades it brought them tons of money. This movie will too. IPs are way more important than a one weekend box office success in this case. And Snow White as a music doesn’t perform well nowdays. So it’s better that they renewed the music. As far as we know the princess brand wasn’t a fan favorite either. And she is very good with children that the previous ones wasn’t like Emma Watson. She likes to be the princess she already was in Disney shops meeting families.
