The 2nd generation 2022 Honda BRV was already unveiled in Indonesia, but we still haven't gotten it here in the Philippines yet. In this Filipino car review, we take a good look at the 1st generation Honda BR-V V to see what goodies it has to offer. I've driven the Honda BRV before, but it was a short test drive and I was only starting out as a car reviewer back then. The 2022 Honda BRV goes head to head against the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross, the Toyota Rush, and the Suzuki XL7. The 2022 Honda BR V we have here is the 1st generation, since the second generation Honda BRV still hasn't arrived in the Philippines yet. We will get the 2nd gen Honda BR-V soon, most likely as a 2023 Model.

That next gen model would definitely sell a lot, an upgrade aesthetics plus features will entice buyers

Hi sir. Ask ko lang po kung may height adjuster po ang brv sa driver seat? At kung hindi po ba mahirap i-drive ng newbie lady driver? Salamat!

Pero madali lang sya para sa lady driver yung wife ko ako lang din nagturo after 1 month nasanay sya
Ung next gen ng BRV sana paglabas mareview agad...
Pa banggit din yung ac if malakas or kulang, as for some na yung lakas ng ac ang una chine check sa sasakyan.

Among non-turbo MPVs, this Honda really has an edge over its rivals in terms of hp/torque.
Hope the new BR-V that will be offered in our country will have a turbo engine (Just dreaming, but why not? 😅).
Can’t say the same about torque. It has 145nm while the xpander has 153nm if I’m not mistaken. Definitely has more power.

Italian tune up is to run the car up to the redline to remove carbon deposits from the engine.

did the test vehicle you mentioned really need a tune up that early? just wondering why a sudden change of views with regards to performance.
Mix of factors. The Italian tune up definitely helped, since a car's ecu adjusts throttle inputs based on the driver style. I was also a newbie reviewer back then, and I didn't have the experience needed to properly compare the BRV performance vs its competitors.

tune up that defeats fuel efficiency in return for nothing. electronic throttle will be always be shit in sub-3million cars.

Q3 or Q4 this year. There's already 1 unit in the country that Honda PH is testing and its the 6 mt. We'll probably get a mt version as base model, and a cvt for the top trim.

Agree. But, you are comparing it to Gen1 which rooted from 2016. Remember that honda is very good at their engine.
Ah yes how can I forget the BRV? The car with the ugliest looking rear I've ever seen. Up there with the Soluto.
Kia soluto rear is actually clean looking unlike the Reina which pure ugliness.
