Thanks for watching. This edger belongs to a good friend of mine, and it has some problems starting. But before I work on it, I'm going to try a different way of clean it.
lovely work on the cleaning on the lawn edger you got done for a friend and to me the valves might out of adjustment or maybe a sticky throttle cable but yeah easy to fix that one by simply spraying some good lubrication in there or simply replacing it etc.
you got it, a little lube goes a long way, in these situations
@@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE for sure including the colder weather etc.
Nice clean up job! Looks a hell of a lot better than it did before.
I thought so as well. Thank you William Snow.
Another great video my friend. That thing cleaned up rather nicely to where it looked almost new. Cannot wait to see you fix this thing and get it running right again... will be waiting patiently... LOL
Thank you Rob Kercheval.

You're very welcome sir!
The best degreaser I've come across so far is purple blast. It does wonders working on removing heavy grease like on the second edger shown in your video here bro
Purple blast, I'll have to look for it. Where you do you get yours from?
@@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE I get it in my country Trinidad here but as far as I understand it is a product made in USA.
Thanks for helping with the sticker 👍👍
No problem 👍
Thanks to you I have a whole collection of old toothbrushes. Every six months to the dentist for cleanings times four people. Do the math! lol Thank you Inside House Garage.
A Patterson, You get where I'm coming from, 2 toothbrushes every year, more, if you decide to purchase , instead of waiting. thanks again.
One degreaser I used in my time doing engine repair work was Cresylic acid. This stuff is really good. I also have the degreaser in aerosol cans sold in most auto parts stores.
do you have a name brand for that aerosol? I might be interested in it.
@@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE the brand is EXPORT, sold here in Australia. I bought a box of a dozen cans for $24 AU$
gotcha.
I know someone that uses oven cleaner for really bad greasy jobs. I have not used it because it is pretty harsh. Thanks
really, I heard that it was harsh , But hadn't considered yet, might have to try it though. Thank you Waterman one.
Awesome from the dollar store
Yes it was, affordable and effective is always good. thank you Edwin Colon.
You know it's funny I see this video because I worked on one of these just like this just last week exactly like it
very nice. what was the problem with the one you were working on?
@@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE fuel lines in the clutch that turns all the edger blade the clutch was burned out so I just took a clutch off of a Troy-Bilt weed eater and put on this edger and it works perfectly fine now so if you ever have to change a clutch on one of these Troy-Bilt edgers they're exactly the same as the weed eater the weed trimmers are
thank you William Moore.
@@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE always man if I'm able to help out a fellow mechanic on small engines then I'm down with it
Looking good. Good video.
Thanks 👍
I use a cleaner called “Purple Power”. I get it from Walmart and it seems to work well for me on dirty mowers.
that's the one I just bought
Thanks!!!!!!!!! you know what you are doing and it is amazing👍👍👍👍👍👍
I appreciate that!
Oh yeah! Now THAT'S an edger. Those Briggs flatheads will run forever.
you bet, with minimum maintenance, it will last for years.
Looks clean.
very clean, I'll have to commend my friend on taking care of his stuff.
Great video. Cleaned up nice!!
Thanks 👍
Looks like new now but I noticed the scars on the side where the pull rope is and it was pulled straight up at one time and not that severe angle like now . I believe its a lot safer now being away from the nasty blade . Just wondering
you have a very good eyes, Yes, from what I gathered, they like to have the rope close to the machine, so they can pull as much rope as possible for each pull.
I use purple power on my mowers and it works well.
I just got some, hoping to find out myself, thank you Brian Straughn.
I like using bel air aerosol degreaser.
I'll have to look that one up, thanks.
that "Craftsman 4 Cycle Trimmer" from your previous video could be a spare engine for this one right?
possibly, but I think this one, is slight bigger in displacement
Ta for the video.. funny how it say 10 pumps.. the little 4 mix are hard to start when they get old but that one seems to be ok for now..
thank you Mick, and yes I always wondered it needed so many pumps, but it works for now. I appreciate your time.
I'd like to use a water hose to clean my equipment but my house has so much power its almost like I'm using a pressure washer using a nozzle identical to the one you used in this video it go's about 15-20 feet its definitely enough to damage stickers and even paint. And I can't even adjust the pressure at the house faucet because it's pretty much just on or off. What do you suggest I do?
wow, that's some crazy pressure, I would just keep the nozzle far enough away so you don't damage it.
Great video. Is this the same edger from Apr 7, 2017 video? Looks the same and the same blade?
yes sir, I didn't expect them to be release so soon to each other
Fast 505 made by ZEP, it’s a life changing degreaser
thank you for the tip Hester781
Do you have any idea how I can make my orange stihl engine cover look bright orange again
possibly using a retrobrite process with salon grade hydrogen peroxide.
@@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE ok thanks very much
No problem
