From an animator: the program kind of doesn't matter. Toon Boom, flash, or even fucking photoshop are all capable of making good animations. It all depends on the artists and how hard they're willing to/paid to try
Comic relief characters like Fred can learn a lot from Sokka. Sokka wasn't just comic relief. He was a genius and had insecurities, and tried to better himself by overcoming his insecurities and behavior towards women. He became a leader and an amazing character.
Naga the Serpent and Amelia from Slayers are comic relief based characters who are actually more fun. Even Bolin from The Legend of Korra is a better comedic character.
Something a lot of people don't really seem to get. When the comic relief character isn't being funny, they have to actually do something to justify their existence.
In the comics, the characters are much different. Hiro is the son of a prominent industrialist and is a talented inventor, Baymax was built by Hiro and can turn into different things like a dragon or a giant mech, Wasabi is a Japanese chef and swordsman that can harness his chi energy, Gogo is an ex-convict and former motorcycle racer, Honey Lemon a scientist and secret agent with a purse that contains wormholes, and Fred was raised in a SHIELD base and has the power to turn into a Godzilla-like monster. Even if the characters in the movie/show are different, their traits from the comics could've been incorporated, like Wasabi having an interest in cooking or Gogo being a former member of a criminal biker gang.
This is just a theory. But Kei Kawade, "Kid Kaiju" comic came out once in Totally Awesome Hulk #3(February, 2016) and again in his own comic, Monsters Unleashed (Vol. 2) #1(January, 2017). I think maybe it was going to be a Kid Kaiju series, but fell back into Big Hero 6. And if true, they may have already made the monsters, and forced the writers into using them, with very little time.

The heroes "combine" if I remember right in season two or three, which the Kaiju could do, if I remember rightly.

At first I thought karmi was a one time only character or at least a minor character but when she showed up more and kept bullying hiro I lost interest.
Honestly I just wished they really looked into the character's backstories. Like you said, getting to know their real names, maybe how they all became friends with Tadashi and stuff. Fan Friction was kinda okay. Being a person who reads fanfiction I understand what you mean. I think they went a bit over the top with the whole fanfiction thing imo. And let's be honest, there's no way Obake and Momakase are there at their little evil base reading a fanfiction rather than creating a proper plan to defeat big hero 6. I agree that they should've tried harder with the series, the movie has heart and it's just beautiful with the way they did the character development and stuff. They should've really thought about it and put that into the series too. They're kinda telling the same story but just not their origins anymore. Finished my rant

This genre of fanfic is, within the niche of fan fiction, pretty dang controversial. But a lot of the main arguments for the genre, is that the rl people can just avoid reading it. Hiro has it shoved in face constantly and is told to deal. Its perfectly valid for him to be uncomfortable and it’s just a weird moral the episode presented. Like, ignore your feelings cause people you don’t like are having fun? The fan fiction wasn’t the problem, she’s a scientist and actually had some good ideas, it was the romance part. I don’t see how there couldn’t have been a middle road, like Karmi continues her fan fiction but takes out the rl shipping. Still like the show, but big YIKES to that
Goddammit why does everytime I find a series or movie or anime I legitimately think is cool the entire community needs to say it's trash. Seriously, it happens all the times. Here I was thinking the big hero six series and the tangled series were the best series based on animated movies I've ever seen, now everyone here is saying it sucks. Dammit dude I can never enjoy anything, the worst part is that the animes I hate, like konosuba for example, are animes that the entire community loves. It's just so dumb, I'll enjoy whatever I want to enjoy, but sometimes it feels like I have bad taste, when I know damn well that I don't.
I feel like it's animated on two's and the sound quality together with the voice acting great! but that just makes it all the more jarring when you actually LOOK at the animation. I mean I don't like the style either but maybe thats just a personal preference. I just feel like the blocky style doesn't match the movie

I will admit, the show itself is ok at best but it does fuck up in places. I completely agree on Karmi though. When she appeared on Issue 188 I was annoyed at her at best. Afterwards I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt and think, well I don't expect a complete 180 but at least some respect would be good. Then Failure Mode came out... And all potential sympathy towards her was thrown out the window into a boiling lake of acid. And three If the bully suffers, the victim wouldn't feel pity, they would feel schadenfreude. Big Problem was in fact, a huge problem in writing and Hiro's "friends" saying 'just accept she's better than you will she makes you suffer" and Fanfriction wouldn't exist if the fanfic was written by any other person. Honestly I felt for hiro on Failure Mode and Fanfriction. Failure mode cause I was like Hiro during my math class and it lead me to some bad thoughts about myself. The fact that the show is saying you should be completely fine with being bullied- and not to complain or even tell others because they’ll tell you to shut up and deal with it- is kinda horrible. Also, the trope of “treating someone badly because you like them” is an awful trope.
I've read reviews on some pretty bad self-insert stories before. Most of them were insults. Why did they not do a storyline for Karmi's story being flamed instead? Would've brought up some karma for her and would give a reason as to why Hiro and his friends might want to hang out with her.

Except Disney has brought us more recent well-written cartoons shows like Gravity Falls, Ducktales 2017, and even Tangled the Series which actually gets pretty mature and dark. And not even counting animation, even the live show Andi Mack on Disney touches on some heavy themes. Disney has definitely not been lazy as of late.
Just my opinion, I honestly like the choppy animation. Its different from most animations and adds a new turn. But as someone who is interested animation and knows how difficult it is, maybe it's just me. I like looking at different styles and not every style is perfect.
I watched this show with my little brother (he was obsessed) I really agree with how we had literally *no* development for the other characters. We didn’t even find out their real names that is... Insane. Characters introduced originally in the show have more development than the characters from the original.

Idea for Go Go: A new villain arrives to the city to cause mayhem and we later learn that it’s Go Go’s disturbed brother who was thought to have died when one of his experiments went wrong but in reality lost his mind, which led to Go Go, out of grief, becoming the person she is today.
While I enjoy this show, if there's one thing I hate about season 1, it's the episode Mr. Sparkles Loses his Sparkle. This episode is just ATROCIOUS! Mr. Sparkles tries to suffocate a cat in Space and DOESN'T GET ANY COMEUPPANCE FOR IT! Instead he gets REWARDED for it! That absolutely INFURIATES me.
The real reason they used the names she gave them when they were “Rescuing her “ was so they could preserve their secret identity as they don’t really have superhero names for their alternate selves although I don’t know why they chose to go with the catchphrases she gave them

I've watched very little of this show and yet, just from what you showed of Karmi and described, I am convinced she's a straight-up self-insert mary sue. I know that's not the type of label to throw around lightly but I think she checks off most of the boxes. Not only do the majority of the canon characters love and idolize her, the one or two who don't (namely Hiro) are depicted as in the wrong/jealous/whatever and this is despite her having a very unlikeable personality (which in real life would be very valid grounds not to like someone). Everything revolves around her too, and of course, the show teases her getting together with the male lead of the show despite the two of them having as much chemistry as oil and water. I'm getting the feeling somebody in the writing room really fell in love with their own fanfiction...
On your assessment on hiro First off you say he should act smarter but you gotta remember he is still 14 being a genius doesn’t mean you always have COMMON SENSE. And even so hiro is not an idiot in most episodes HE is the one who saved the day with his intellect and cleverness. And also you ask why hiro might not have told his friends he was rebuilding baymax since they were superheroes they quit being superheroes after the first movie because they lost baymax and almost lost hiro and the episode with hiro continueing to pursue the mad jacks he just wanted to bring them to justice and protect krei which is his JOB plus many other heroes have done this in one episode of the justice league after batman gets bit by poison he goes against supermans orders to stay put(feeling like he is the weakling of the justice league since he has no powers) and goes after lex luthors villain group only to get captured.

While true, Batman has no powers, He takes a huge assortment of gadgets and technology with him. What did Hiro take with him to fight the mad jacks? To quote the famous clip, "NOTHING! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!" Again, I'm being civil with this. You're free to have a different opinion, I'm just stating mine. Say what you will about some of the other Disney spin-off shows like Legend of Tarzan. At least some of them tried a lot harder to have some impact. I admit Legend of Tarzan was probably one of my favorite of these spin-off shows apart from Aladdin: TAS.
RaisorBlade though I will say the animation on the lion guard is mediocre, the characters have weird animations at times and at times the hits look like they're in slow mo and the background doesn't fit with the characters so I kind of agree there and the songs do have fun with visuals and color and camera angles. I know this is an old video, but I just saw the video and the animation...uuuff....it really looks like an independent artist learned flash animation and put this together. (However the kanji for kaze (風) can apparently also be 'style.' However I found this via google translate so I'm not sure about its accuracy. From what I've seen, Karmi fans seem to be divided into two categories: 1.) She does absolutely nothing wrong and is perfect in every way, don't ever criticize Her Majesty or call her a bully (yuck), and 2.) Recognizes that she's not perfect and hopes she gets better development in the future (but is still willing to disregard all of her behavior and thinks liking stickers and having a crush on Captain Cutie counts as character development). There's nothing wrong with liking an asshole character - we all have at least one asshole character we love dearly - but I'm definitely pissed that a children's show is depicting Hiro and Karmi's relationship and how the other characters react to it the way the it is. I've seen bullies and bitter rivals in cartoons before, but they never disgusted me the way this show has. Karmi is a cunt, not even a lovable cunt, and I'm willing to bet big bucks she'll still be an over glorified cunt loved by all the other characters who shuts Hiro down at every opportunity (which everyone, including his friends, will ignore) when the show sadly does put them together.

I think enemies to lovers is a trope that can be (and has been) done well, but that's clearly not the case with this show. When the first season started airing, I thought Karmi was going to be a stuck up brat who eventually comes to realize Hiro was right in the first episode - they're both smart, the youngest kids at SFIT, and there's no reason for them to fight instead of being friends. Especially when Hiro kept maturely putting up with and ignoring her shit for the most. But Karmi's never changed, and when Hiro start to sink to her level and retaliate - and he's not even as bad as her yet, and still goes out of his way to be nice to her when in Hero form - everyone ignores her treatment of Hiro and scolds him for being upset. None of his friends care in the slightest that he's being bullied but give a huge damn that he calls her "the worst" when Karmi's not even in the room. Granvile knows she's shitty, hence why she sets Hiro up with her so he can be a good influence on her, but she sets it up so it looks like Hiro is the one who needs Karmi's help, and she KNOWS her social experiment failed because Karmi later makes fun of him right in front of her and cyber bullies him by recording Hiro's failed project and putting it online with slapstick sound effects right in front her. Yet she, a professor, a dean, someone who supposedly cares so much for her students' well-beings, does nothing to punish Karmi or help Hiro. And season two has not made any of this fucking better. My prediction is they're going to force them together by suddenly making Hiro and Karmi "like" each other as Karmi continues to bully and harass him, and everyone around them will continue to give no fucks as Hiro becomes Karmi's abused boyfriend. And what grinds me the most about this is that it's a kid show. Hiro and Karmi's ages don't bother me - they're 14 and 16, that's no worse than Aang and Kataara's 12 and 14 - it's that this is a terrible message for kids, the show's TARGET AUDIENCE. The fact is, kids are never going to encounter a Globby, Momakase, or Obake in real life, but many of them will encounter plenty of Karmis and be those Karmis' Hiros. Bullying is real. And how shitty is it to tell kids that if they're smart, it's perfectly okay for someone else to bully them for it, no adults will ever care, your friends certainly won't care, and if you retaliate in any way, you're the problem - oh, and getting your pigtails pulled means they like you, so you have to date them, how can you not like them back??? Stop being a little snot and grow up, you deserve this treatment. Ugh. That's just a disgusting message to give kids. I hate it so much.

The thing is, Ed, Gir, and Patrick[before his flanderization], have their own moments. Ed, despite his stupidity, is protective of his friends and serves as the muscle and its because of his household and how he serves as a doormat to his sister. Gir is like a little brother to Zim, one whom he HAS to look over, and still has useful moments when his eyes turn red. And Patrick, used to be a WAY better character than he was back then and was smart in his own way, and tries to be helpful.

After looking at their original Marvel counterparts, I kinda see these Big Hero 6 versions are kinda lame (Hiro especially with him not having armor for solo combat in the many times he is separate from Baymax). And yes, Gogo is the most annoying, blandest character.

IKR ??? Big Hero 6 was such a disappointment. It's like the most cookie cutter superhero origin flick ever made, plus cringe Gen Z dialogue and stereotypes and the attempts at sappy drama didn't make me feel anything for Hiro or Tadashi. No wonder no one cares about this franchise these days.
Just like the movie, it’s only good when Baymax is on screen. The difference was that in the movie when Baymax wasn’t on screen it was still decent but here I just want to change the channel. This is also a shining example of why you shouldn't judge a show based on the people who made it.
Obake was the only reason for why I watched this show. (Mainly because he’s voice by one of my favorite actors, Andrew Scott). He is one of my favorite Disney show villains, along with Bill Cipher. I didn’t bother watching the rest of the series after Season 1, since Obake’s no longer in the show.
Funny you said that, i remembered thinking the series was better than the film it’s based on. But i think I’m gonna have to watch both, to maybe see how both hold up.
The movie was a boring af cookie cutter superhero origin story with annoying Gen Z stereotypes and cringe dialogue. I REALLY didn't feel anything about Tadashi and couldn't be bothered with all the sappy drama Hiro was going through, and Callaghan is a lazy Mr Freeze rip-off. So I'm really unsurprised the show isn't any better.
The first ten episodes of season 2 are going air every day for the next two weeks starting today, and the rest come out "later this year because they're not done yet" (according to one of the showrunners, whatever that means). I can't stand shows like these that just don't have "characters" they are jokes more so of characters. Take Thomas the Tank Engine for instance. A lot of people look over the show, but the original era was FULL of amazing characters. Amazing stories. I sympathize with those damn TRAINS more than I do with any of these characters here. There is nothing for me to understand. Nothing for me to root for. The whole bird watching thing could have been done the same way the Thomas series did with Henry adoring nature. We learn he feels the most at ease and peaceful in nature. We learn that he gets very upset when that natures is ruined or something bad happens to it. It's part of his character to LOVE nature. Despite being a train he wants to protect and cares about nature. It's sweet. Not in Big Hero 6. Making her BIRD WATCH but never building on it isn't character development. It's like a blip on a checklist somewhere.

In the comics, the characters are much different. Hiro is the son of a prominent industrialist and is a talented inventor, Baymax was built by Hiro and can turn into different things like a dragon or a giant mech, Wasabi is a Japanese chef and swordsman that can harness his chi energy, Gogo is an ex-convict and former motorcycle racer, Honey Lemon a scientist and secret agent with a purse that contains wormholes, and Fred was raised in a SHIELD base and has the power to turn into a Godzilla-like monster. Even if the characters in the movie/show are different, their traits from the comics could've been incorporated, like Wasabi having an interest in cooking or Gogo being a former member of a criminal biker gang.
I wonder if he knows this was based off a Marvel comic 😅.
This is just a theory. But Kei Kawade, "Kid Kaiju" comic came out once in Totally Awesome Hulk #3(February, 2016) and again in his own comic, Monsters Unleashed (Vol. 2) #1(January, 2017). I think maybe it was going to be a Kid Kaiju series, but fell back into Big Hero 6. And if true, they may have already made the monsters, and forced the writers into using them, with very little time.

At first I thought karmi was a one time only character or at least a minor character but when she showed up more and kept bullying hiro I lost interest.
Honestly I just wished they really looked into the character's backstories. Like you said, getting to know their real names, maybe how they all became friends with Tadashi and stuff. Fan Friction was kinda okay. Being a person who reads fanfiction I understand what you mean. I think they went a bit over the top with the whole fanfiction thing imo. And let's be honest, there's no way Obake and Momakase are there at their little evil base reading a fanfiction rather than creating a proper plan to defeat big hero 6. I agree that they should've tried harder with the series, the movie has heart and it's just beautiful with the way they did the character development and stuff. They should've really thought about it and put that into the series too. They're kinda telling the same story but just not their origins anymore. Finished my rant

I really like this show actually, but yeah... I wasn’t big fan of this plot line either.
This genre of fanfic is, within the niche of fan fiction, pretty dang controversial. But a lot of the main arguments for the genre, is that the rl people can just avoid reading it.
Hiro has it shoved in face constantly and is told to deal. Its perfectly valid for him to be uncomfortable and it’s just a weird moral the episode presented.

Goddammit why does everytime I find a series or movie or anime I legitimately think is cool the entire community needs to say it's trash. Seriously, it happens all the times. Here I was thinking the big hero six series and the tangled series were the best series based on animated movies I've ever seen, now everyone here is saying it sucks. Dammit dude I can never enjoy anything, the worst part is that the animes I hate, like konosuba for example, are animes that the entire community loves. It's just so dumb, I'll enjoy whatever I want to enjoy, but sometimes it feels like I have bad taste, when I know damn well that I don't.
I feel like it's animated on two's and the sound quality together with the voice acting great! but that just makes it all the more jarring when you actually LOOK at the animation. I mean I don't like the style either but maybe thats just a personal preference. I just feel like the blocky style doesn't match the movie

I've read reviews on some pretty bad self-insert stories before. Most of them were insults. Why did they not do a storyline for Karmi's story being flamed instead? Would've brought up some karma for her and would give a reason as to why Hiro and his friends might want to hang out with her.

Except Disney has brought us more recent well-written cartoons shows like Gravity Falls, Ducktales 2017, and even Tangled the Series which actually gets pretty mature and dark. And not even counting animation, even the live show Andi Mack on Disney touches on some heavy themes. Disney has definitely not been lazy as of late.

Just my opinion, I honestly like the choppy animation. Its different from most animations and adds a new turn. But as someone who is interested animation and knows how difficult it is, maybe it's just me. I like looking at different styles and not every style is perfect.

I watched this show with my little brother (he was obsessed) I really agree with how we had literally *no* development for the other characters. We didn’t even find out their real names that is... Insane. Characters introduced originally in the show have more development than the characters from the original.

Idea for Go Go: A new villain arrives to the city to cause mayhem and we later learn that it’s Go Go’s disturbed brother who was thought to have died when one of his experiments went wrong but in reality lost his mind, which led to Go Go, out of grief, becoming the person she is today.
Edit: His villain name would be Akuma, based around the Japanese demon, his real name I haven’t really thought of.

I've watched very little of this show and yet, just from what you showed of Karmi and described, I am convinced she's a straight-up self-insert mary sue. I know that's not the type of label to throw around lightly but I think she checks off most of the boxes. Not only do the majority of the canon characters love and idolize her, the one or two who don't (namely Hiro) are depicted as in the wrong/jealous/whatever and this is despite her having a very unlikeable personality (which in real life would be very valid grounds not to like someone). Everything revolves around her too, and of course, the show teases her getting together with the male lead of the show despite the two of them having as much chemistry as oil and water.
I'm getting the feeling somebody in the writing room really fell in love with their own fanfiction...
On your assessment on hiro
First off you say he should act smarter but you gotta remember he is still 14 being a genius doesn’t mean you always have COMMON SENSE. And even so hiro is not an idiot in most episodes HE is the one who saved the day with his intellect and cleverness. And also you ask why hiro might not have told his friends he was rebuilding baymax since they were superheroes they quit being superheroes after the first movie because they lost baymax and almost lost hiro and the episode with hiro continueing to pursue the mad jacks he just wanted to bring them to justice and protect krei which is his JOB plus many other heroes have done this in one episode of the justice league after batman gets bit by poison he goes against supermans orders to stay put(feeling like he is the weakling of the justice league since he has no powers) and goes after lex luthors villain group only to get captured.
Okay so I want to be civil with you about this. You make it sound like Hiro not using common sense somehow excuses him for doing something really stupid. Yes, there are episodes where he solves the problems and saves the day with his intellect, but it just makes those moments where he just dives in without thinking things through all the dumber. Also Hiro wasn't there with his friends when they decided not to be heroes so how would he know? Even if he did know, why wouldn't he tell them? They care about Baymax, don't they? Also he took Fred with him and Fred, for some reason, decided NOT to bring his costume... Which probably would've made the situation better. As for the Mad Jacks episode, there's no excuse, that was just straight up really dumb on Hiro's part and even THE TEAM tells him he did something stupid. The road to hell is paved with good intentions and Hiro wanted to protect Krei is irrelevant. Finally, Batman is Batman. While true, Batman has no powers, He takes a huge assortment of gadgets and technology with him. What did Hiro take with him to fight the mad jacks? To quote the famous clip, "NOTHING! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!" Again, I'm being civil with this. You're free to have a different opinion, I'm just stating mine. At least you had the decency to make your point known as opposed to just saying "Fuck You!"

Say what you will about some of the other Disney spin-off shows like Legend of Tarzan. At least some of them tried a lot harder to have some impact. I admit Legend of Tarzan was probably one of my favorite of these spin-off shows apart from Aladdin: TAS.

From what I've seen, Karmi fans seem to be divided into two categories: 1.) She does absolutely nothing wrong and is perfect in every way, don't ever criticize Her Majesty or call her a bully (yuck), and 2.) Recognizes that she's not perfect and hopes she gets better development in the future (but is still willing to disregard all of her behavior and thinks liking stickers and having a crush on Captain Cutie counts as character development). There's nothing wrong with liking an asshole character - we all have at least one asshole character we love dearly - but I'm definitely pissed that a children's show is depicting Hiro and Karmi's relationship and how the other characters react to it the way the it is. I've seen bullies and bitter rivals in cartoons before, but they never disgusted me the way this show has. Karmi is a cunt, not even a lovable cunt, and I'm willing to bet big bucks she'll still be an over glorified cunt loved by all the other characters who shuts Hiro down at every opportunity (which everyone, including his friends, will ignore) when the show sadly does put them together.
I honestly dislike the bully becomes love interest cliché, it’s some what ok and cute and hate when the bully keeps on abusing the character that there with when it’s kids are in there 6-10 but as adults/teens It is cringy and god awful

I think enemies to lovers is a trope that can be (and has been) done well, but that's clearly not the case with this show. When the first season started airing, I thought Karmi was going to be a stuck up brat who eventually comes to realize Hiro was right in the first episode - they're both smart, the youngest kids at SFIT, and there's no reason for them to fight instead of being friends. Especially when Hiro kept maturely putting up with and ignoring her shit for the most. But Karmi's never changed, and when Hiro start to sink to her level and retaliate - and he's not even as bad as her yet, and still goes out of his way to be nice to her when in Hero form - everyone ignores her treatment of Hiro and scolds him for being upset. None of his friends care in the slightest that he's being bullied but give a huge damn that he calls her "the worst" when Karmi's not even in the room. Granvile knows she's shitty, hence why she sets Hiro up with her so he can be a good influence on her, but she sets it up so it looks like Hiro is the one who needs Karmi's help, and she KNOWS her social experiment failed because Karmi later makes fun of him right in front of her and cyber bullies him by recording Hiro's failed project and putting it online with slapstick sound effects right in front her. Yet she, a professor, a dean, someone who supposedly cares so much for her students' well-beings, does nothing to punish Karmi or help Hiro. And season two has not made any of this fucking better. My prediction is they're going to force them together by suddenly making Hiro and Karmi "like" each other as Karmi continues to bully and harass him, and everyone around them will continue to give no fucks as Hiro becomes Karmi's abused boyfriend. And what grinds me the most about this is that it's a kid show. Hiro and Karmi's ages don't bother me - they're 14 and 16, that's no worse than Aang and Kataara's 12 and 14 - it's that this is a terrible message for kids, the show's TARGET AUDIENCE. The fact is, kids are never going to encounter a Globby, Momakase, or Obake in real life, but many of them will encounter plenty of Karmis and be those Karmis' Hiros. Bullying is real. And how shitty is it to tell kids that if they're smart, it's perfectly okay for someone else to bully them for it, no adults will ever care, your friends certainly won't care, and if you retaliate in any way, you're the problem - oh, and getting your pigtails pulled means they like you, so you have to date them, how can you not like them back??? Stop being a little snot and grow up, you deserve this treatment. Ugh. That's just a disgusting message to give kids. I hate it so much.

Valid points aside: I'm definitely seeing this show as something that could be so much more, but sadly isn't.
That said, there's something else I wanna add in: Karmi. She may be one of my favorite characters, but criticisms towards her are actually quite valid. Including yours! She is, er, WAS, a bit of a stuck-up back then. I wish that they would make her improve sooner. As someone here, Orange Socks, pointed out that Fan-Friction could've been a great potential in developing her and giving us a reason to sympathize with her.

The thing is, Ed, Gir, and Patrick[before his flanderization], have their own moments. Ed, despite his stupidity, is protective of his friends and serves as the muscle and its because of his household and how he serves as a doormat to his sister. Gir is like a little brother to Zim, one whom he HAS to look over, and still has useful moments when his eyes turn red. And Patrick, used to be a WAY better character than he was back then and was smart in his own way, and tries to be helpful.

After looking at their original Marvel counterparts, I kinda see these Big Hero 6 versions are kinda lame (Hiro especially with him not having armor for solo combat in the many times he is separate from Baymax).
And yes, Gogo is the most annoying, blandest character.

IKR ??? Big Hero 6 was such a disappointment. It's like the most cookie cutter superhero origin flick ever made, plus cringe Gen Z dialogue and stereotypes and the attempts at sappy drama didn't make me feel anything for Hiro or Tadashi. No wonder no one cares about this franchise these days.

Just like the movie, it’s only good when Baymax is on screen. The difference was that in the movie when Baymax wasn’t on screen it was still decent but here I just want to change the channel. This is also a shining example of why you shouldn't judge a show based on the people who made it.
Obake was the only reason for why I watched this show. (Mainly because he’s voice by one of my favorite actors, Andrew Scott). He is one of my favorite Disney show villains, along with Bill Cipher. I didn’t bother watching the rest of the series after Season 1, since Obake’s no longer in the show.

I REALLY didn't feel anything about Tadashi and couldn't be bothered with all the sappy drama Hiro was going through, and Callaghan is a lazy Mr Freeze rip-off. So I'm really unsurprised the show isn't any better.

The first ten episodes of season 2 are going air every day for the next two weeks starting today, and the rest come out "later this year because they're not done yet" (according to one of the showrunners, whatever that means). Are you going to wait until the full season is out to review it or will you do a quick review on the first ten? I really enjoyed this and I can't wait to see your thoughts on the next season!
I guess we'll have to wait and see. I know the first half of season 2 will be it's own arc but again we'll wait and see

Season 1 was the best season... by default! "Big Hero 6: The Series" ended up becoming a big flop by the time it ended in 2020.

I can't stand shows like these that just don't have "characters" they are jokes more so of characters. Take Thomas the Tank Engine for instance. A lot of people look over the show, but the original era was FULL of amazing characters. Amazing stories. I sympathize with those damn TRAINS more than I do with any of these characters here. There is nothing for me to understand. Nothing for me to root for.
The whole bird watching thing could have been done the same way the Thomas series did with Henry adoring nature. We learn he feels the most at ease and peaceful in nature. We learn that he gets very upset when that natures is ruined or something bad happens to it. It's part of his character to LOVE nature. Despite being a train he wants to protect and cares about nature. It's sweet.
Not in Big Hero 6. Making her BIRD WATCH but never building on it isn't character development. It's like a blip on a checklist somewhere.

its trying to have a teen titans feel i think, and i get what its going for, but it made everything look awful. i really was looking forward to watching this cause i love big hero 6 (especially the main duo, hiro and baymax,) but the animation isnt too good, its trying to make it look like early 2000's teen titans or gorillaz album covers, but this isnt from the early 2000's, its from 2017. they got the artstyle down, but it doesnt mix well with the animation. and also THIS IS DISNEY. A MULTI BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY. dont you think they could have made it look even slightly finished?

I admit how the show didn't hold up well after obake was gone. He was easily the best villain in the show, and I feel like it should have ended there.

But geez I already forgot about this show and honestly if you didn't talk about big hero 6 I'd forget about it but I'm ashamned of modern Disney and how they treat they're property's so don't mention for them to maybe write a sequel I don't want Disney to write sequels I want original movies from them again i men it's been what 3 maybe 4 years since a original movie and if this was old Disney that would be fine but since moana there's been nothing but sequels and there's nothing but sequels coming up so far but I also miss original shows yes it has star vs evil and it had gravity falls but nothing else is really good I miss the days when we had a good spin off like tailspin and such oh actually there's the new duck tales I love it but that's it really but good review as always raisor and I can't wait for the DBZ review so when it's time to review it call upoun me from a spirit review bomb and I'll raise my hands in the air like I just don't care to help you through it!
