thank you so much for sharing this video, i was born in manchester and thats where my parents lived, in west didsbury. now they are no more and i was a child when they moved to another country. i just imagined them once walking around on those streets. thank you so much for helping relive the memory of my parents.
This is the sweetest comment we ever received. We always want to share our adventures and the places we love. West Didsbury has been our home for more than a year and it has a special place in our hearts. We are so happy to know that we can share this memory with you!
Omg Burton Road! I don't know why but I find this so trippy to watch a walking tour a place I know so well. You passed the Great Kathmandu which is my go-to for takeaways. I can never eat Nepalese or Indian food anywhere else in the UK after going there
Happy to hear that you want to watch it again! Did you see that we have one more walking video from Manchester? ruclips.net/video/aSsAX8gN_Sc/видео.html
Lived on Clyde road nearby until 1986 when I left for Vancouver. Thank you for this. Burton road was a run of the mill sort of street back then with your average post office, butcher, baker, hardware shop and chippy. Look at it now with all the bars and restaurants and all the young people. Looks like Nepalese restaurant is still there which I used to visit.
Wow watching this video has brought tears to my eyes,I used to live on Burton road in the 80s,my parent's had a newsagents there for 18 years, I think it's a Thai restaurant now ☹,I spent may a night in the conservative club opposite playing snooker, I can't believe how much its changed, Many thanks again
For Didsbury in 1956, see the Children's Foundation film "Peril For The Guy" narrow streets, and lots of slopes. Q. Which part of Didsbury is this? Old UK streets as they were THEN! Film shows a closed deserted airport. Anyone got any info? Parts of this film available to view on U_ tube.
