Loving what you’ve done. I'm hoping to change from my T6 to a MWB Crafter and will definitely be going for this layout. Can you tell me where, and what heater you've used please?
Thanks for sharing, We are also converting a MWB so am watching your vids with interest. We are doing a lot like you (bench seat in back as we have a toddler) and i have same thoughts about kitchen- dont want it to look like a camper kitchen but a real mini kitchen. Only thing we doing different is we creating a bunk bed above driving area (our daughter very excited about that).
Hi Laura Sounds amazing, would love to see some pics as you move forward with it. We love the normal kitchen, just like living in a small flat, the oven is brilliant to.
Are you sleeping across the van and what size will your bed be, brilliant van my friend built his crafter last year and quite the same.VWADVENTURE on here, oh and what size is your kitchen. Man]y thank
Yes we are sleeping across and installing a window flare on the drivers side. It’ll be 1940mm. The main kitchen is 1450mm but will have an extra 500 extension at the sliding door.
A beautiful van. You guys are clearly really skilled. The new shape crafter in grey is what dreams are made of. I’ve heard / seen people suggest that showers in a van have been a regret. Do you feel that the ratio of time used (5 mins per day?) to space taken up is going to pay dividends? I’ve not done a van conversion (other than literally chucking a bed in a T4 years back) but as I’m planning I’m trying to think about each room in terms of how often we will use it. I.e. sleep (8 hours), Kit for activities (5 hours +), chilling (3 hours +), eating (20 minutes), cooking (20 minutes), showering (5 minutes); Essentially is it wise to priorities space in a conversion according to these priorities? I’ve seen some beautiful kitchens in vans but always wonder how long people actually spend cooking only to find their swivel drivers seat doesn’t turn all the way because of the kitchen unit. In these vans are people cooking comfortably for 20 minutes to then sit awkwardly for 2 or 3 hours playing games?
Hi! Well we haven’t finished yet so haven’t used the shower. We are kite surfers and will use the shower quite a bit especially for me with long hair I need to wash the sand and salt out. Plus we will use it as a drying room for wetsuits etc and snowboard boots in winter (we have run a heating fan into it). Plus we can fit everything on your list in so no need to compromise 😉 In our LWB T6 our drivers swivel still leaves us loads of space. Maybe different in SWB and when people have the fridge that sticks out into the middle. We also cook lots of lovely meals in the van. Part of our trips is enjoying buying local produce and cooking it ☺️
@@recraftedcampers4686 thanks for the reply guys. Your van looks savage and I can’t wait to see it develop. The drying room for wetsuits etc will be invaluable and there certainly is nothing like a warm shower!
Thanks for the reply was wondering and sorry for being a pain but how wide is your bed going to be and love the idea of building the flares, looking forward to seeing it finished and I do know that if you want to put flares on both side you can get an extension for your side door to send it out further round the flare, good luck and keep up the good work
Hi mate It’s strange that the amount of times I’ve been through these messages and I’ve never seen yours before today ? Very weird and apologies. I did make a mould for 150mm deep, first one broke when being vac formed. Remade it, had 2 made as a test, looked good but still needed work. Then Lamplas started selling them for around £300, so I bought one. Yes, I’ve seen the extensions, they work well but you loose so much natural light with 2 pods Cheers
Thanks! It’s approx 1150mm from the shower cubicle to the inside of the pillar but the seat cushion will sit slightly around the pillar into the door which gives around 1200 and leaves a 50mm gap to the door
Hi can I ask what wheels and tyres u went for. I have a MAN tge mwb 4x4 standard suspension and would like to fit 17inch wheels and BFG tyres but scared they may stick out to much Regards Sean Kirkcady Fife.
Hi Sean So sorry for delayed reply, I'm sure you've already bought them by now 😂 I got ours from VWT5upgrades, he supplied wheels and tyres and knows what offset you’ll need, speak to him, he knows his stuff. Mine where £1500 inc delivery and I fitted them myself. They did stick out a bit so I bought the arch trims off the crafter CR 50
@@recraftedcampers4686 the Crafter I bought ended up having to go back, I'm now on a transit custom, so sorry no answers for you, when your selling your van in the future shout me though
Hi Kenneth So sorry for the delay, we've been rubbish at updating but are trying to get on top of it now 😊 We bought it from Camperinteriors, it's about £1000, great bit of kit, the instructions are a bit rubbish, video coming soon.
Don’t see it!! Where you store your fun stuff?? Just seems to be for posers why don’t you want to go camping!! Live a little:) and a cocktail bar haha wtf just pack your grinder
Actually we have plenty of space for our kitesurfing and snowboarding gear but thanks for considering. Storage is essential for us 😊 At the moment we travel in our T6 all over Europe, including northern Norway mid winter. And in that we take kitesurfing, snowboarding/snowkite and kayaking gear. And a good Old Fashioned after activities is equally as essential 😉 Check out our last trip to Scotland there is a video of that 👍🏼
This will be pretty special when it’s finished 👍🏼
😃 We hope so! Progress on the shower today. As usual we don’t make life easy for ourselves 🤣
@@recraftedcampers4686 I did think that myself 😄 but, it’ll be worth every grey hair when it’s finished

The bed measured to the rear door glass is approx 1270mm, the main thing for consideration was it was wider than our T6 RIB BED
looking to do the same. what did you spent or budget for your grafter please
Looks great! Can you please tell me the dimensions of the parallel seating/bed at the back doors? Planning on doing the same. Cheers

Not sure actually. Bought from VW Upgrades. But we are adding an extra wheel trim
Whats your plan for the missing seat belt in the back?
We’re adding an additional belt. It’s not urgent for us as we are only 2 so not top priority

Did you sort your seatbelt ?

Yes 😊, it was actually a very easy job and took about 2 hours, I thought it was going to be a pain and kept putting it off.
