I'd be very interested in a cost breakdown once the project is finished! Also, you may want to clean up those AN fittings. They are wedging pipe threads that creates the seal with the flare and cone. For a good seal, you don't want paint on them, and also don't want the paint to flake off and plug up any fuel lines/ports/jets.
The AN fittings in the wings were actually anodized black and taped off when painting. I cleaned up the bung threads on each one before installing the fitting, and used a pipe thread sealant recommended by my I/A. Trust me, even though not everything is on camera, we're building it right. My life is literally at stake.
I just hung wings on my Husky experimental exhibition STOL project for my wings over wyoming network program congratulations you're 90% done with 90% to go lol see ya out there
I used oil on the drill bit to collect as much as possible. I'm basically using a garden hose connected to a vacuum to get the rest out of the tank as best I can. I have filters to catch the rest. I'll be doing extensive testing before the first flight, along with cleaning out my filters regularly until I'm not getting any particles. It's not an ideal situation, but we'll make it work and be safe doing it.
Wow, all those metal chips from your drill right into the fuel tank. Good Job!
I was also wondering about that.
I had oil on the drill bit, and we're cleaning the tanks. Not too worried about it. Fuel filters will grab the rest.

Tremendous progress! this looks just about ready to go . congrats
Thank you! Still a LOT to do. the first 95% is easy. It's the last 5 thats going to kill me.

DANNNG the airplane looking nice with the wings
I know right!?
Nice. Thanks man🎉🎉🎉 we're getting closer to fly day
So close!
When you drill the holes in the tanks, how are you getting the drill material out?

Yep, I am an idiot doing dishes, vacuuming, making the bed, etc 😂. Glad my wife is not an idiot!
I’m in the same boat. My primary job is stay at home dad!
Woot.
I know right!?
Great video. Did you leak check your work?
Not yet. We're going to flush it and do a leak test.
Promoted your channel to some student pilots at Wildwood NJ Air event 😁
Well I appreciate that! Thank you!!!
It's starting to look like a plane... again. What is the process to get the metal shavings out of the fuel tanks? Flush the system?
Yep. Flushing the system, and I'm running fuel filters. =)
👍✅💪
Mostly just flexing. =)
The race is on….
Getting closer!
