    Great looking fuel injection system Carl. AVStar’a components should make the Red Rocket a stellar performer. Nice looking parts! That throttle body is a work of art. I’ve seen it up close.👍 Nice work on injection line routing, bending and support. Hope to be there for first engine start.🤞

    Thanks for mentioning when you made the video, gives me a good timeline for your project, hoping you get to fire up the engine by end of month
    Happy Thanksgiving!

      Last week didn't go to plan. My daughter got sick and I stayed home with her for a few days. Poor little girl. Shes feeling better now so I can get back to work. A worthy interruption, family always comes first, but it took several days away from my work.

    Cool trick to measure for the fuel injection line.

      Thank you! It's worked out great so far. Probably going to use the same trick when I do the oil and fuel lines.

    Pro tip: next time you heat a bolt or plug remove the Allen wrench before heating. I've had them twist off before because you've changed the temper in the Allen head. Sucks when that happens.

      Good tip. I'll take that into consideration for the next time.

    Is there a way to use the primer ports on the cylinder to install the injectors?

      @flywiththeguys  10 месяцев назад +1

      From my research you can. As long as the spray is behind the intake valve it should work. The problem you run into is getting the injector lines to those lower ports. Heat and baffling kinda become a problem depending on your application. I had a tight cowling, so I needed it up top.

    Fuel injection in a 1940s plane? This guy is becoming a madman! Gotta stop him before he puts retractable gear on this thing. 😆

    Out of curiosity- isn’t fuel divider supposed to be mounted on top of the plate to separate it from the engine as much as possible to prevent excessive heating of fuel and fuel lines thus minimising risk of vapor lock?

      Not to my knowledge, and I don't recall seeing a mounting orientation in the documentation. I've also seen them mounted both ways in different applications. My buddy runs his this way on his RV 10 as well. Same mounting bracket too.

    “Outdated” = affordable… and by that I mean in “imaginary aviation units”
