That is really a remarkable difference! I'd never considered the amazing detail hidden in these mass produced toys before, but this has inspired me to check them out.
+Cosplay Chris My geuss is, it's like a summer where you truly think there will be nice and warm weather but all of a sudden it can start to rain all day and be just very cold and wet (That's what she said). We have that here in the Netherlands aswell, yesterday morning I had to f*cking scrape of the ice from my cars windows, then in the middle of the day I could walk outside with just a tanktop on and still be hot (That's what she said).
This was awesome! Randomly stumbled onto this video and you have definitely given me a 'I can do that' mentality to try something like this out. Thanks Chris, I will be checking out more of your videos!!
Hi Chris. Any chance you could do a vid regarding the LED wiring you did on this project? I'd love to make this but don't have a clue where to start regarding the lights which I think really make this thing pop.
Chris i have a small question, how did you managed to remove the chest piece with the helm from the one-piece back? I've tried removing the metal tubes that are in the shoulders but so far no luck
Awesome custom I find with painting gold and silver with citadel paints to always do a coating of silver first, make the gold that much shinier and not a dull gold
This looks great! I just picked one up at Walmart for $11.00! I can't figure out how to separate the chest from back as well as the head. Also...where did you get the black cones that go over the led lights? Thanks for the help Chris!
Hey Chris, I'm a 48 year old semi-pro musician, I used to be professional when I was younger but nowadays you just can't make a living solely on gigging so I also teach...on youtube all I watch are videos relevant to music, gear-wise such as guitars and effects units and amplifiers and so on... I never really watch anything else...but when I was a little kid in the seventies I was a big Marvel fan and some DC also, ever since i saw your make-over of the H. Cavell "Soupaman" I can't stop watching your vids...O how I regret all the super hero action figures I gave away and threw away in my teens. cheers. Mike.
FANTASTIC work!!! I can watch this video over and over and never get tired. That Hulkbuster looks like something a high end collectors company put out. Two thumbs up, man. 👍👍
A neat trick to do with the masking tape is to take the tape and make it less adhesive by sticking the tape on your jeans or a fabric shirt some where (a few times).
That's truly unbelievable what you did the level of detail you implemented goes unrivaled. I'm just amazed at how you were able to replicate the look of the Hottoys figure it's really incredible 💪😎💪👍😁👌
I was FINALLY able to get my hands on one of these. They're alot harder to find than i originally thought. I was able to grab one on eBay from overseas for 60 bux. Can't wait to get started :-).
Hi Chris, let me first say fantastic vid. Do you mind if I ask what you used for the LED housings? Are they paid for components or did you repurpose something else? Many thanks, Rich
Awesome job. As part of your experimentation, try opening the eye slits and lighting them from the inside with the same LEDs. Focusing on the eyes is paramount on films.
+Forgi LaGeord I googled led lights, model led lights and didn't find anything. I'm curious about the pieces he slides the lights into to mount them inside the hulkbuster.
+66justariot try googling component leds. I get all mine from digikey.com you might need resistors too depending on how you build your circuit. oznium.com and superbrightleds.com sell them as well. Sometimes you can get them prewired, but the prewired ones are generally the flat style kind of led.
i love the work. i am your fan. i watch all your custom collectibles and inspired by you. thanks for making this video. and the way you customize the figures are so easy to learn for others like me.
+Cosplay Chris If the product doesn't matter I wouldn't show the name of it. Also I have seen videos get taken down because the maker of the product didn't want their product on the show.
+Baron Of Hell The product does matter, if someone sees this video and wants to replicate the results the easiest way to do that is use the exact same brand of paints. In fact it is standard practice for these kinds of custom paint job tutorial videos to mention the brand and specific colors used so people can replicate it, since that is the point of a tutorial.
guy looks like he could stare as superman in a movie. not only buffnes of physique but his face is like the perfect superman face. totally dig this guy
I think the reason it looks like a couple hundred dollar figure is because it is a hundred dollar figure. The man hours and materials it took you to make this thing look the way it did I'm sure someone would gladly pay handsomely for. Keep up the good work!
That was awesome how u completely changed that toy into a top dollar model figure. Makeover. The shoe polish was the best part, how simple yet effective. Giving it that really gritty dirty look to it. Nice work man, really impressive. I think I'm gunna try this out for myself. Hopefully the results are good hahah
QUESTION: The Gold and Silver paints you used here. Are they Acrilycs or Enamels? Loved the results but I am still afraid enamels end up tacky over some sorts of plastics. Again AMAZING work, man!!
Dude there is no one else on RUclips with videos like yours, thank you so much for your hard work and information on how to make (or attempt to make) your works of art!
That looks amazing it just a shame that you couldn't rig up the lighting to allow access for a customised iron man to sit in the suit. Having said that it could be a future project for you.
this is pretty great. only thing i would personally change is have lights in his eyes as well. maybe dremil out the eyes just slightly and have a light in the helmet
3:25 "Please wear gloves." 3:45 *Doesn't wear gloves.*
Nice, lol.
+Of Legend I Am Born Looking out for you guys not me haha
Cosplay Chris
LoL it's all good it made me laugh, the timing of it was what was esp. great. Just twenty seconds later no gloves, haha.
Of Legend I Am Born
He was using one on the holding hand lol
He was wearing gloves on the non spraying hand 😉
You're a better painter than a final piece from sideshow collectibles. The "kiwi" touch is ingenius!
Can't help but keep re-watching the custom vids, great stuff.
Downside.. I can't use tools for shit, lol.
Ospiri Vorgath i rewatched 3 times… ima customize this pretty large foot long iron man
That is really a remarkable difference! I'd never considered the amazing detail hidden in these mass produced toys before, but this has inspired me to check them out.
I love how you use the term "australian summer". As if you guys had any other seasons over there. :P
+Xam271 Oh you don't know a trolling summer until you live here haha :p
We have the same seasons as america
+Cosplay Chris I'm not worried about the heat to be honest, it's the cut throat wild life that scares me, Giant ass bulldog ants, Koala's (
+Cosplay Chris My geuss is, it's like a summer where you truly think there will be nice and warm weather but all of a sudden it can start to rain all day and be just very cold and wet (That's what she said).
We have that here in the Netherlands aswell, yesterday morning I had to f*cking scrape of the ice from my cars windows, then in the middle of the day I could walk outside with just a tanktop on and still be hot (That's what she said).
+Cosplay Chris we are thinking about moving to Australia
That vein paint effect would be good for creating the evil vessels on bad guys faces from Dr strange
I think filling the screw holes with bondo and sanding then down would make it look better, at least for a display piece.
This was awesome! Randomly stumbled onto this video and you have definitely given me a 'I can do that' mentality to try something like this out. Thanks Chris, I will be checking out more of your videos!!
as a straight man I say: this man is handsome
True
hahaha I was just thinking that
+RandomDude as a homosexual man I say: this man is fucking sexy
lol me too... in my head i said no homo
+RandomDude Yea, but girls would find him friendzoneable due to his height.
Hi Chris. Any chance you could do a vid regarding the LED wiring you did on this project? I'd love to make this but don't have a clue where to start regarding the lights which I think really make this thing pop.
Adrian Edhouse, i am having a difficult time removing the pins on the shoulder? Were you able to remove yours?
Pimp My Figure:
A series by Cosplay Chris.
+Keenan Meyer I think you might be onto something, man ;)
+Cosplay Chris maybe you could customize a star wars nerf gun
+Cosplay Chris.. dude you are pimp my ride for toys, great job.
Keenan Meyer yo dawg i heard you like toys. so i put a toy in yo toy so can play while you display.
Sketchman911 ,vvcxxcccfc
That´s how you get a free Hot Toys Figures
Mr PINGAS with no articulation lmao
That vein thing is actually pretty helpful to know for other stuff
Friggin Boom Toys that would be cool for a Bain rework
I think it is caused by diffrrent types / mixes of laquer in the paint
@@camrunner6633 we know, he literally said that in the video
7:10 looks freaking demonic!
it looks like um.....a demon iron man
Looks like the end Infinity War.
Spider-Man: Mr. Stark, I don't feel so good
The 2 different paints dont mix but the effect looks kinda cool, it might be used for some extra details on some customs
GlaciusX2 👍
I like the shoe polish trick. In my old Warhammer days i would do all that by paint, would have taken day.
You got skills like a Japanese toy detailer
This is just above basic Gunpla skills
You inspired me to give this a go, Just finished the other day and I love it, managed to fit leds in the eyes too! Thanks man.
also, could you leave a before/after shot at the end of your videos? that would be awesome
Uhh, thumbnail
I LOVE how you make these figures pop, you do a super great job! Keep up the work youre awesome.
Nerds can be buff and sexy?? Time to hit the gym
whydoyadoyadoya
+KaiserChiefs thats called hybrid nerd xD
+Shinji D it's rare
X MasterGamer X It's not really rare. It is just that people dont see them as nerds. Maybe 30% of the fit gym members are nerds. U never know xD
hey homie
Chris i have a small question, how did you managed to remove the chest piece with the helm from the one-piece back? I've tried removing the metal tubes that are in the shoulders but so far no luck
WOW. Looked like a nano virus attacking the armor in the failed paint test. Very cool.
I would do that failed paint test JUST for the detail that it gave for an infected iron man armor
+Lost & Found Travel Reminds me of Armisael attack from Evangelion.
G.I. Joe 😂
Awesome custom
I find with painting gold and silver with citadel paints to always do a coating of silver first, make the gold that much shinier and not a dull gold
You're an amazing artist. Great work on this man. You should reskin and sell these.
+jacob schenk Thanks very much, Jake :)
This is such an AWESOME Idea. Have alot of these kinds of figures lying around. TIME to go to the hardware store
Awesome mate! You made it the way it SHOULD have been made.
eazybe1 can you imagine how much they would charge if it was made this way instead.
10.000$ cough up the money bitch
Chris this bloody awesome. I always wanted a hulkbuster that looks like a pro and not have to weild the heavy coinage to handle it. This is awesome.
i dont know whats cooler, the hulkbuster or your t-shirtls lol
Wow.... the difference in before and after looks insane. I’m tempted to have a go at this myself as I can pick up one of them Hulkbusters for £20
why does this guy not make the actual movie props etc.
He makes some batman props that he sells on his web store. Usually there's a link the description.
I'm not sure what you mean Barry Allen?
Wow there are some really creative people who know how to make really awesome things.
Awesome job man.
This looks great! I just picked one up at Walmart for $11.00! I can't figure out how to separate the chest from back as well as the head. Also...where did you get the black cones that go over the led lights? Thanks for the help Chris!
From cheap to expensive looking action figure, very well done 👏
Holy..sh...
You just gained a sub sir!
That is freaking sick man!
Your channel rocks!
+Tim Buhrs Thank you man i appreciate it :)
When you mixed those two different paints and it crackles, it's a very common technique used for antiquing furniture.
Should've filled in the screw holes. Still pretty great, though.
+Mad Cow Rebel Thats what she said? haha
Excellent.Hulkbuster looks already good as it is, but with the new painted scheme he is really impressive.Nice detail on the weathering.
Chris could you link the leds, wires and battery pack? Amazon link? Thank you subscribed!
codyreyes Nope.
FANTASTIC work!!! I can watch this video over and over and never get tired. That Hulkbuster looks like something a high end collectors company put out. Two thumbs up, man. 👍👍
Dude that is amazing
WOW! First time seeing this video. Your style and technique have certainly developed over time!
how much would you charge for one of these?
I don't think they are for sale, but I could be wrong.
Lanh Nguyen
Around 150-200 plus shipping and maybe tax is the price around the globe, do t forget that this is ta me consuming
Companies should hire this guy to design toys. He makes them so much more awesome at a decent price. I would buy toys designed by him.
Hey Cosplay Chris , Can you customize Hulk toy ? It would be really awesome..
GH0.0
A neat trick to do with the masking tape is to take the tape and make it less adhesive by sticking the tape on your jeans or a fabric shirt some where (a few times).
looks stronger
That's truly unbelievable what you did the level of detail you implemented goes unrivaled. I'm just amazed at how you were able to replicate the look of the Hottoys figure it's really incredible 💪😎💪👍😁👌
You should customize some shitty jurassic world toys. I'd love to see that *_*
+AthenasKiss Good thinking :)
WOOOWWW!!! GREAT DETAIL WORK, DUDE. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
6:59 Mr.Stark I don't feel so good....
I was FINALLY able to get my hands on one of these. They're alot harder to find than i originally thought. I was able to grab one on eBay from overseas for 60 bux. Can't wait to get started :-).
hOLY MAN,, it look like a totally different figure.
7:14 the dreaded Kraggle. Mixing spray paints is a recipe for disaster. Excellent PSA mate!
I don't think you will fit inside that armor.
That's what she said
Hi Chris, let me first say fantastic vid. Do you mind if I ask what you used for the LED housings? Are they paid for components or did you repurpose something else? Many thanks, Rich
Gosh you're good.
I really want that crackle look you did by accident! Like black cracks with white.
Great job Chris. I am building scale models for over 20 years so i can tell that you have some wicked skills
Spends countless hours pimping the action figure.
Gave it to a child and destroyed it in seconds.
Ahh, parenthood...
Awesome job. As part of your experimentation, try opening the eye slits and lighting them from the inside with the same LEDs. Focusing on the eyes is paramount on films.
where did you get the led lights, what are they called?
+66justariot I m interest too
+66justariot They're just LEDs. You could get them pretty much anywhere online.
Did anyone figure out what those black cones around the lights are called? I can't seem to find anything like them anywhere.
i love the work. i am your fan. i watch all your custom collectibles and inspired by you. thanks for making this video. and the way you customize the figures are so easy to learn for others like me.
Mate you are Aussie! Pretty sure, I'm Aussie too!
+Aryan Artz Born and breed :)
Cosplay Chris me watching this video for the millionth time...will you be pimping out the iron man figure? cause I can't wait to pimp mine out😀
actually, why that happened is because polycarbonate paint uses a harsher solvent. the solvent harshness ascends as: acrylic
SO. MUCH. PRODUCT PLACEMENT.
+Rantz Yu And i don't even get payed for it!
Sad...
+Cosplay Chris If the product doesn't matter I wouldn't show the name of it. Also I have seen videos get taken down because the maker of the product didn't want their product on the show.
+Baron Of Hell in this video they sorta mattered because of the explanation that some paints don't do well together
Made it so much more lively! Amazing job!
Were did he get his DBZ shirt
+Isaiah Jackson Hot topic haha
5 years later, im still into this badass makeover
Man, you'd be a king in the tabletop miniatures world.
amazing job!!! Woaaaw!!!
I want to see the Captain America sheild
Great job on that! I have a slightly smaller version of the Hulkbuster Armor I'm think I'm going to give it a go on customizing it.
Impressive. I used to paint my Gundam models. You got me wanting to get the brushes out! lol
Nice job on this and all of your other mods!!Any chance you have a link to the LED parts you used on this build (housing case)?
guy looks like he could stare as superman in a movie. not only buffnes of physique but his face is like the perfect superman face.
totally dig this guy
I think the reason it looks like a couple hundred dollar figure is because it is a hundred dollar figure. The man hours and materials it took you to make this thing look the way it did I'm sure someone would gladly pay handsomely for. Keep up the good work!
This is absolutely gorgeous. Like wow.
This is Incredible, Astonishing even!
Super cool dude. The transformation is incredible
i love how when you made the iron man leg with the other spray paint looks awesome
That detailing is the work of an expert cosplayer.
I just miss the time when I watched his videos every day and every time
That was awesome how u completely changed that toy into a top dollar model figure. Makeover. The shoe polish was the best part, how simple yet effective. Giving it that really gritty dirty look to it. Nice work man, really impressive. I think I'm gunna try this out for myself. Hopefully the results are good hahah
Hulkbuster modded looks really nice 👍
very cool, i think the addition of little metal edge wear would have looked very good
I love how this turned out!
these videos are also helpful for customizing and painting 3d prints
That look's dope 😍
Fricking the nuts, big ^5, beautiful custom.
QUESTION: The Gold and Silver paints you used here. Are they Acrilycs or Enamels? Loved the results but I am still afraid enamels end up tacky over some sorts of plastics. Again AMAZING work, man!!

this is pretty great. only thing i would personally change is have lights in his eyes as well. maybe dremil out the eyes just slightly and have a light in the helmet
Clever use of shoe polish. I've got a package of Warhammer 40k figures I'll try that out on!
Extremely nice work.
Did anyone else get chills during the test piece paint vein thing
his stubble is perfect hahaha
I really really love with your paint job bro. Very very Cool!
