Thank you you have a nice set up you could paint that rusted tank stay Bless 10:06
I have been looking at this project for my shop and I just want to say thank you for breaking it down simply. Every other video I watched had short runs between the 2 compressors and this is exactly the application that I want to implement. Thank you, Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Keep on pumping out videos! We are watching and liking.
Big thanks to you for bringing an old guy back into the game I was once well know for painting Corvettes 40 years ago, I still learn something new from you
Just switched my setup to those high flow Milton's and I do notice a difference great video
Good luck with those old air tanks. Those things explode sometime with no warning.
thank you for sharing your knowledge! i like the mini split air conditioner idea to remove air moisture where your air compressor is located
You are welcome!
Nice job on your auxillary air tank. The only thing different I would have done is paint it, and install a pressure relief valve on it.
Good tip! will do after my surgery
Man I love the ingenuity. But I seen a video on RUclips of a compressor failure on a tank that looked way less rusty than that one. Pretty scary stuff. It was like a bomb went off. Hopefully yours is in good shape internally as the rust is impossible to see on inside of tank. Stay safe friend.
@@michaelchristopher9444 not impossible at all, with a borescope.
I like your style and willingness to give advice to younger guys like me
Keep bringing the great videos and motivation to the community 🤝
Thank you! brother
great video im looking into installing an extra compressor tank to i have an older 25 gallon and just bought a 60 gallon for $80....just for my home shop but i have some tools that wont work on a 25 gallon compressor.......i should be good with 85 gallons ...
I use that hf gun for cars with good results. Granted I am running it between 65-70 psi to get good atomization but after I figured that out i sprayed Nason base and clear.
One day I’m going to get back to working on my Dads 1970 SS Chevelle he bought new when he got home from Vietnam I started working on it 20 years ago it got put on the back burner after rayon kids 5 of them none mine so yes I’m going to need a good air compressor with Volume of air 0:05
Thank You brother keep on rocking
Thank you too
Awesome i used a system like this when i did mobile stuff it made a huge difference
I have been watching auxiliary air tank videos because I need one. You would be surprised how many of these videos feature the addition of a 10 or 20 gallon tank.
Thanks to you, I am going to run with the old saying... "Go big or Go home"!
Why bother with doing the same amount of work and buying the same number of parts to increase air volume by 20 gallons when you can just as easily and cheaply step up to 60?
Nice setup
Id spray some rustoleum on that tank tho
Looks a bit nicer
Just saying lol
Thank you, sir!
No worries!
very good trick! Too smart sir! 👌🏼
Thanks! 😃
I have a 4 gallon air compressor I added a13 gallon tank to it I don’t really yous it for a shop right now just airing up tires maybe nail gun how much is the limit on the tank Comper is 200 psi should I get worried if it gets over 200 psi I seen you tube a tank that blue up Yes I know I have a problem spelling 12:54
GREAT VIDEO ! THANK YOU !
Keep those vids coming I started out painting with those hf purple guns and moved up slowly to devilbiss and so on ...
Epic setup man!
Im tired of water buildup freezing my air tools in my unheated shop, and i drain the compressor often.
The compressor is in the heated area so that doesn't help, 60 gallon IR.
Sounds like ive got a weekend project of plumbing in an old craftsman compressor that blew up to the line coming from the shop.
Thanks for sharing
I'm adding my old 60 gallon to my new 60 gallon tomorrow check out my current setup Cooper coil in a bucket of water from the hot side from the pump. My you tube Donnelly Detail & refinishing
All I heard was a constant usage of the word "mmkay", nice!
Sorry old habit from my Hungarian Dad
Thank you for the videos. A huge blessing. I do stump grinding in north Texas (Denton county). What would you suggest for ground mats for my Bandit SG40 (1500lbs) when I don't want to tear up someone's nice yard? Thank you for your time.
The machine is good on lawns but two things 1. learn to feather your controls 2. Believe it or not 1/2 inch plywood works wonders on a wet or sensitive lawn
Thank you, sir

You are the man
@@mustangrebuilder The first road race I went to was at SIR in the late '60s, Titus drove a Shelby GT350 for the win.
You wont use harbor freight paint guns but the water filter regulator is ok? 😂
I have double filters and I do use HB paint guns for shooting my industrial paint and I have Black widow for clear
Hows the Pex holding up? What brand are the elbows and crimp fittings? U said tiger shark , dnt seem to find that onlg "shark bite"
Pex is just great still the connectors were off brand at home depot just like shark bite
@@mustangrebuilder what psi are you running before the pex on your regulator?
I was thinking of adding my regulator after the tank Before the Pex and regulate it to 150psi just to stay below the burst point on the Pex
How long is your setup?
@@MartinMora92 150 is what mine is at, 30 feet to reg one side and 15 from compressor to extra tank in booth
I want to do something like this. Can I use copper pipe instead, or is PEX cheaper to do once you buy everything? I've never worked with PEX, but know how to wet/solder copper.
pex is the way to go
Jamie I set up garage with copper pipe. After doing research on the pro's and con's of both, the quality and performance is basically the same. I chose copper over pex because I like the look of copper and the rigidity of metal and the set up gave me experience in sweating pipe. However, I do see the benefits of pex pipe as well and there is also the cost factor of cost. I bought my copper at a time in which copper was low priced and I grabbed it quickly. I'm of the same attitude as Mustang and an old dog to boot (68), so I've always looked at all options. However, I like the simplicity of how Mustang thinks....work smarter, not harder. Take care.

send info to mustangrebuilder@gmail.com for sticker and which one you want
@Mustang Rebuilder I'm looking at doing this for my Harbor Freight 20 g, it's only 4 CFM and I've been using the LVLP guns to spray in the garage, do you know if this adding an air tank for capacity will help my CFMs so I could step up to an HVLP gun?
I have seen a guy do it and will find the video for you

Bondo Billy, love it! Thanks for the lead!
I'm not sure if I missed it in the video or not but did you connect tank to tank or go from regulator out put to secondary tank ?
tank to tank
Do you use a lot of power using a tank this size?
Trying to start a wood shop in my garage
My compressor comes on less
I have thought about painting some of my older equipment. What type of paint would you recommend ?
If its equipment I use Rust‑Oleum Specialty Farm & Implement Paint, with a hardener added to hold gloss and reduced with acetone
Nice! Are those pex connectors crimpless?
Yes they are!
Called shark bite
Interesting video. But i have to say pressure tested or not , there is no chance i'd want to be near an air tank that big that is that rusty full of air. Just my opinion.
Its oxidized red paint my friend

MAN I don’t know if anyone else has told you but you should watch videos of air compressors blowing up folks don’t use rusted tanks for compressed air these are like big ass bombs! Your life is at risk sir please watch some other videos if anything put rust reformer inside the tank and coat it good then put a cage around it that would sustain a huge explosion because that is what will happen when that tanks gives up
The tank was never outside and inspected also no rust ,it is faded red paint. The reason I was able to get the tank was the compressor failed due to a voltage spike .
You didnt paint it and its in a paint booth lol
Yep and why paint it with all the overspray it will get
