They really only spent 2 full days on it with the other 2 being quick overdubs that probably didn't take long. It wasn't out of the norm for them to work on one song for days and they did it for a lot of other songs by other members as well. The other three probably didn't completely enjoy Maxwell so it stuck out more, but it probably wasn't as bad as they made it out to be.
They say rehearsing it so much drove them mad, but John wasn't even available and they had already done things like Not Guilty over a hundred times (And George still decided to can that one)
Really great deconstructing! One of the few "Threetles" track. No John involvement (well, except for that rumor that he mooned Paul during this bit - 8:48 , which made Paul giggle).
Although he did provide them for the Get Back sessions according to some of the sources I looked at Mal was on vacation during the recording of Maxwell's Silver Hammer so it was probably Ringo.
I'm a George and John guy and I've never gotten the hate for this song. I think it's a masterpiece. Great video as always Stems. You think one day you could do a mix of Revolution where the guitars are WAY louder. Love the song but I think mixing the guitars so low was a mistake and really takes away from the song.
Thank you glad you enjoyed it. I did do a mix of Revolution here: ruclips.net/video/PePWGXog6mg/видео.htmlsi=qRKSWY8rGpD4oyF8. I think it's about 90% where I wanted it, but it's a fun listen.
I love this song so much. The first Beatles song I heard that made me so shocked it made me go I need to listen to more Beatles. Also I’m devastated that Ringo plays the anvil not Mal on the final recording 😔
Yeah Mal was having a blast during the Get Back session. Apparently he was on vacation so Ringo did them, but he probably would've done them if he was there.
So interesting to hear this vocal that has not been auto-tuned. A real human singing with all the tiny imperfections that real humans have when they sing!
I never really hated the song, but I can see how spending 4 days on the recording would have driven the other three completely mad.
The other 2
@@bskinny9009 Yeah John wasn't there for the bed tracks.
@@Tom-hk6ub He was sick
@@Tom-hk6ub Bass, acoustic and lead guitars was all George. Paul played the piano and synths

Nice job on deconstructing it! My favorite tunes on Abbey Road and I never get why so many people despise or disliked it.

I love it !
Great bass by George.
Might not have been George. Geoff Emerick said McCartney replaced George's part, and McCartney corroborated this.

I believe it was Mal who provided the anvil hits.

Thanks for this.

Ringo does that extra kick every time just once in every verse... in the same spot ....
I noticed he also kicks the same time he hits the snare, must help give a bigger sound.
My fave is the anvil track.
Let's face it. Paul wrote some beautiful songs. He also penned some silly stuff. This is one of them. I gladly skip over it.
John hated this song, right? jajajajaa
John hate everything hahah
