- My feels have been punched. This was a pretty highly anticipated episode, so the fact that this episode delivered shows how amazing Understanding Willow truly was. We've been wondering about Willow and Amity's friendship for a while now, but we finally get some answers! I react and give my thoughts on the episode!

two things that i want to point out
1- the book on the library, if you go back to the library memory, you see that some of the books have titles write with runes, one of the book's title is very curious and possible give a huge clue to the show lore, "The Titan and His Spawn"
2-if you go back to the "Luz´s first day" episode you see that each one of the 9 big covens has a leader, the most powerful member of each coven, and you can see representations of each one of the 9 Great Witchs, the Leader of the Abomination coven, has a goatee, and you know who else has a goatee? Amity´s Father, is not a real confirmation, but if Amity´s Father is the leader of the Abomination Coven, is easy to understand why Amity´s family has a high status

Amity is a pretty amazingly written character. And the fact that she shares a voice actor with Katara is amazing too. Honestly, that voice actor (whose name I don’t know, sorry), really fits Amity.

In my opinion this is the best episode at the moment, I love how the character of Amity has evolved, very interesting how the friendship between Willow and Amity was, and the real reason why they stopped being friends, and the Lumity moments are so cute , Grom comes to us on Saturday and we are all going to die

I'm gonna call it right now: Amity has a crush on Luz, and she's also a big ol dork! Amity is awkward and doesn't know what to do around people and admires Luz for being able to be so friendly and open with everyone since she herself struggles with that. We're starting to see that side of her more and I love it. She's honestly amazed by Luz PLUS she's really touch starved and has been missing close relationships with people in general for years, so everything Luz does around her is amped up in Amity's mind. Luz is the type to touch your hair and comment on how cool it is and ask to braid it(possibly because she KNOWS Amity gets flustered by her being close) and Amity is the type to be subject to it, and allow Luz to braid her hair while trying very hard not to have a meltdown(and Luz pretends not to notice). She's been alone so long, poor girl :'( Luz is so open with her thoughts and emotions and Amity really admires her for that. I think that's what the y'all in the hall at grom is about. She forgets how to function when she compliments her tho and just gets really embarrassed. Maybe we'll get a "...you look good too.." outta her in the grom ep!!!

This was amazing to see the story behind amity and willows relationship. I’m sure they will soon become friends again in a later episode.

Frankly, I wouldn’t mind if they didn’t become friends again. They probably will, but I could see them just not. They could both get along fine, but if they never go back to being the way things were, that would be somewhat rewarding in its own right.
It's possible they're gonna be friends again.She clearly regrets what she did and wants another chance at friendship with her.Willow,while not immediately forgiving her,is willing to give them being friends another shot.Maybe after Grom, she'll stop being friends with boscha and her gang and join Luz Willow and Gus in their friend group.
Probably my favorite episode so far. Amity’s development is super awesome, and we finally got to see Willow going feral! It was so cute, and there’s nothing to be improved. Except the blight parents. They should run.

I love those little affectionate moments Luz mindlessly shows towards amity, just the little gestures like grabbing her hand and hugging her really gives amity a sense of legitimate friendship and compassion that I don't think she's had before (or at least in a really long time). I mean you can tell how, literally touch starved, she is in her reaction. idk how their relationship's gonna turn out but I think they're both really good for each other :)
Ok so my brother was watching this episode of owl house with me and as soon as he saw the foot of the fire monster he said oh that's the inner Willow I was like no and then it turned out he was correct idk how he guessed correctly

One thing I can appreciate is that willow is fine with luz befriending amity, she doesn’t want to be friends with amity herself, but doesn’t gatekeep luz befriending her.
Overall a great episode for amity and willow, as it establishes their previous friendship and gives reasons as to why it ended, I couldn’t help but feel terrible for both of them and amity is really showed growth here, it’ll take time but I’m really hoping they can rekindle their former friendship, but it’s still gonna be a while before that happens.

I was so excited to see this episode no joke I was more excited about this than than the grom episode ☺️
when it got to seeing Amity's parents I got real tears. I lost my best friend /girlfriend because her parents said I wasn't good enough for her so that felt real. it's really good I think my new fave. also one thought I don't think Amity was protecting her rep when she tried to keep luz out of the memory. I think she didn't want luz to see it because Luz would see Aminty be extremely mean and she was afraid Luz wouldn't want to be her friend.
As a Willow fan (3rd favorite character behind my fuzzy boys King and Barcus), this episode hit me like a truck.

I have even more respect for both Amity and Willow now. The former for taking initiative in correcting her (and her families) mistakes and for maturing into a good person. For the later it is showing that she isn't just a pushover, and having the strength to forgive others for their mistakes. I am so glad to see them talking with each other.

Eda's memories of who cursed her were probably either accidentally or intentionally damaged. I said this on the video about really small problems, don't know why I didn't put it here instead.
I kinda hope that the creator puts Gus more into the story and maybe have an episode that focus on him. I mean gus, willow, and luz suppose to be the 3 main characters 4 if u count ammity. But they mostly have been forcusing on those 3 girls but not on my mans Gus :C He is kinda like bow from she ra.

I think Eda is the deuteragonist before any of the other students, they're more Luz's supporting cast (though Amity and Willow are very well characterized).
There was nice little touch. When Amity doesn't wanna talk about the memory she is avoiding, Luz just leaves it at that. And when Mittens has to talk about it again, we see again her walls up. And when she talks how Luz is invesive, Luz has this shameful expresion on her face and obviously gets it and sees that Amity was right.
It's really nice to see how Amity still has way to go and Luz understands her mistakes.

Rebaca rose 🌹 I loved the episode understanding willow was so good It came as surprise finding out that her dads are in a inter racial marriage now it makes more sense why people called her Half a witch willow.
Wait, she's another "hybrid"?! That probably explains her hidden potential, and I'm referring to other "hybrids" like Flurry Heart, Steven Universe, and Meteora Butterfly.
No both of her dads ones black and the other one is White with asian dissent but you can look and tell witch one dad looks like willow .
Yeah, character development is my kryptonite too.
This and Lost in Language are two that I am really addicted to. It makes them stronger episodes when you see in later eps, the development was part of the story going forward.

I just wanna point out the shadows. Amity's shadow is smaller, which means she's weak around her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Blight have bigger shadows, which means they can control Amity to do their (evil) bidding. (It might just be a small detail but I wanted to point this out.)

Honestly, this was pretty amazing. Maybe my favorite episode yet. Probably my favorite Hooty moments, some solid Lumity moments, and Braxus was featured in this episode (one of Gus’ pictures)

Ok, so something comes to mind;
In the "First Day" we saw Amity freaking out about Luz being in class with her and now seeing how her parents were against her friendship with Willow, I wonder if her fears are about how they may react if they learn she's friends with a human, especially one connected to the notorious 'Owl Lady'. It's possible we'll see issues with Amity and Luz's relationship moving forward.
This also makes me consider Amity's siblings; Em and Ed, do they have friends? The pair seem to have the 'twins as best friends' relationship but is this because they actually like each other more than others or because they too cannot have good/real friendships because of their parents?
Also, it's a tiny thing but Amity mentions that Luz is poking around in her "friends lives" and it's interesting to finally see Amity admit that they are friends and use that word; until now she and Luz have been friends only in private (and really done very little as friends; they seemed to become friends after the events of the library and were on far better terms when it came to Adventure in the Elements but we've yet to see them actually spend any time as friends, though obviously Grom may change that).
I know the show needed an excuse to have Luz and Amity go in alone, but I wish the writers could've come up with a better reason for Gus not to be involved. I find it hard to believe anyone would be more concerned about a homework assignment than their best friend who has basically been lobotomized.
To be honest,I was expecting that these 2 wouldn't be friends right away but it's a very good start.Them trying to be friends is a nice start for these 2.You can't change the past but you can work on your future.

-Understanding Willow gets a *9/10* an AMAZING episode, i HATE the luminy ship but damn was it amazing seeing GOOD character writing for once, if it continues I might actually enjoy the lesbian portrayal of luminy, best episode so far compared to 1A and the first few of 1B
I think Lilth has an association with bones through the emperor's coven. Most of the emperor coven has this bone like mask over their face. It also makes me wonder if the emperor cursed Eda once Eda decided she didn't want to join any coven. Possibly after both Lilth and Eda were accepted but Eda rejected him because of her individualist ways.
