    The limit of pesos you can withdraw from your account in an ATM in Argentina kinda depends on the type of account you have, i'm an Argentinian and from my debit or credit card i can withdraw around 180usd per day each, i can change that limit, whether to increase or decrease it, through homebanking but... no argentinian needs to expand that limit, we dont have that kinda of money. Most of us use about 10 to 30usd a day, so it's quite a big limit for us.

    • @aventuralina
      @aventuralina  5 месяцев назад +1

      Maybe it is limited if you do not have a bank account at the bank itself which for foreigners is usually always the case 😓
      In general I guess you can get along with 10-15 US$ but for travellers who have to pay a hotel, food and maybe activities that’s definitely not enough 😕
      But I understand that it’s a difficult situation to handle. Let’s hope that the economy will soon be more stable 🙏🏼

    • @gabydq
      @gabydq 5 месяцев назад +2

      @@aventuralina That's probably the case, wich is actually kinda funny, because the foreigners probably have a lot more to withdraw than the locals, and it makes no sense that those who can withdraw more cant do it! and those who cant have the chance to do it, WHY?!. My beloved country has a history on crazyness and wacky economic behaviour. We are trying to correct that HUGE mistake with our new president. BUT there are political forces trying to stop the change. And of course those forces are the ones that became very very rich in the past decades.

    This difference between the blue dollar and the official dollar is known as the “exchange gap”, it is one of the reasons why things are going so badly for us economically, since the central bank does not receive dollars because everyone goes for the blue dollar . With the Milei government the exchange gap has been narrowed, today the lack of dollars continues to be a problem, which is why the central bank has many debts with importers because they cannot obtain the dollars. I hope the gap is balanced so that people start changing the official dollar so that the influx of tourist dollars benefits the country a little.

      @@aventuralinasupongo que si ordenan la economia eso se terminara, pero no va a ser facil porque el desorden fiscal es muy grande, en cuanto al turismo, no me preocupa mucho porque por lo que veo y leo los turistas toman rapido como funciona el sistema y se adaptan, y al turismos en el fondo le conviene ese lio porque hace la argentina barata en dolares, el dia que se ordene una de las consecuencias sera que argentina sera mas cara en dolares, ya paso por 1990 cuando hubo un presidente que por un pase de magia logro que un peso fuera igual a un dolar y en teoria el cambio fue libre, pero para entender la economia argentina hay que haber vivido y trabajado en argentina, los demas solo pueden adaptarse, porque entenderla no es facil para alguien que viene de un mundo normal, un saludo luis maria
      I suppose that if they organize the economy that will end, but it will not be easy because the fiscal disorder is very big. As for tourism, it does not worry me much because from what I see and read, tourists quickly take in how the system works and They adapt, and this mess is ultimately convenient for passenger cars because it makes Argentina cheap in dollars. The day it is ordered, one of the consequences will be that Argentina will be more expensive in dollars. It already happened in 1990 when there was a president who, for a pass By magic I managed to make one peso equal to one dollar and in theory the exchange was free, but to understand the Argentine economy you have to have lived and worked in Argentina, others can only adapt, because understanding it is not easy for someone who comes from a normal world, greetings luis maria

    It’s really not complicated. If you’re in BA for a few days, don’t waste your time for 2-3% here or there. You will get decent rates anywhere. I was there 4 weeks ago for the first time. I watched these videos and was really worried. I really wish I hadn’t wasted my time with this stuff, change your money anywhere. You will be fine.

    • @aventuralina
      @aventuralina  2 месяца назад +1

      Honestly, if you really just are a few days in Buenos Aires, I agree with you that the loss probably won’t be too big (although there are definitely bigger differences then only 2-3 per cent of you check the official exchange rates in the offices and on the streets and credit cards)
      If we are talking about travelling through Argentina for a few weeks there will be a huge difference since it’ll all sum up. I don’t know if you’ve watched the video but I’m not only talking about exchange rates but also how to book hotels as hotels as well try take advantages and make the most out of the economical situation. Here I’ve seen price differences of up to 30%. That plus exchange rate differences of 10-15% in between the Dollar Blue/MEP and the Dollar oficial do make a significant difference on your budget especially if you are staying in Argentina for a few weeks.

    Very informative. Thanks. How about Wise accounts? Any problem using Wise? Also, how easily can you sell gold, silver, or platinum coins there? A one ounce platinum coin takes up much less space and is less conspicuous than a wad of 100 dollar bills.

    • @aventuralina
      @aventuralina  17 дней назад

      With Wise you shouldn’t have any problems :)
      I personally didn’t check wether you can easily trade gold, silver or platinum. I would assume that it’s possible but since it’s not the most convenient method, it wouldn’t surprise me if that would make you loose money.
      In general I personally would not recommend to bring too many dollar bills or anything else such as gold. Just because it’s more uncomfortable to travel like that and of course there’s always a risk of getting robbed (nothing ever happened to me but you should be aware of this anyways). Card payments work perfectly fine in most places and they give you the best exchange rate. So in my opinion carrying too many dollars with you really isn’t necessary. And my second preferred option after card payments would definitely be Western Union. And after that cash. So, I guess it depends on your preference but these would be my recommendations ☺️

    • @aventuralina
      @aventuralina  2 месяца назад +1

      I would suggest you to never exchange too much money to be honest. 100 USD at a time and you won’t have the problem to carry too many bills around. Otherwise it’s just going to be difficult.
      How much money you spend clearly depends on the budget you are travelling. If you want to travel on a low budget I’d say that you can get along with 20-30 USD per day, depending on where you are. And upwards there are no limits I guess 😁

      As far as I know it is common to pay the rent on a monthly basis and I would assume that you can do this via bank transfer. I can recommend you to check out Remitly: remitly.tod8mp.net/XYVk3o
      Here you can make worldwide bank transfers and it only costs a very small fee per transfer. But it's the easiest way to transfer money directly from account to account without having something like PayPal in between and it's even cheaper than PayPal. So in my opinion it's a great option for regular payments such as rental bills :)

      In Europe at my bank I paid less than 2% of exchange rate to receive the dollars. So it wasn’t too bad but it depends on your bank of course. But really try to use card payments whenever you can because it’s a pain in the a** to carry too much cash with you 😅

      @@aventuralina thanks for prompt answer! When you say you can pay by card in some places you get mep or blue rate + commission (which is explicit I suppose)? So, in other words you're saying that in some places card payments are not a robbery but have a decent commission. Thx!

    • @aventuralina
      @aventuralina  День назад +1

      @@rizzio85 with card payments you will get the MEP exchange rate. So it’s a very fair exchange rate and one where you’ll almost loose no money. But yes, you will pay the commission at your bank so I’d recommend you to get a travel credit card with low commission rates ☺️

It is my understanding Argentines speak more English than any other S American country ? If you pay in USD they will tell you their rate and that one is usually worse then the ones if you pay with credit card or exchange the dollars on the streets.
      The dollar blue used to be much better but nowadays there is hardly any difference between the dollar blue and the dollar MEP. Some days the dollar blue rate is better, other days the dollar MEP.

    You were withdrawing 50,000 Argentine pesos from your ATM… At 1000 pesos for one dollar, that withdrawal would be equivalent to five dollars… Not 15… So you’d be paying $8.40 service charge for withdrawing five dollars which are equivalent to 50,000 pesos… Correct? That is you’d be withdrawing five dollars.( equivalent to 50,000 pesos.) for service charge of $8.40… So to your point it’s not worth it to pay $8.40 service charge for what is equivalent of five dollars to 50,000 pesos

      You got the amount wrong on your reply its $50, but you are correct in that if you only wanted to withdraw $5000p = $5.00 it would cost you $8.40 to do it, plus a small fee from your own countries bank. im in Salta now and the withdrawal fee is now 9650 and the maximum withdrawal amount is 40,000 pesos. So it has got worse.

    Argentina is the only country in the world where RUclipsrs make videos saying the bad things about Argentina, when they go to other countries, very bad things also happen to them, but they NEVER make videos showing the bad things that happened in those countries, but rather they hide it. and they make videos saying only how beautiful that country is, be it Mexico, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Spain, etc. They always show everything good and hide everything bad that happened to them there, only with Argentina do they make videos saying the bad things about the country
