Im in Ireland here too, fish round the north on my Kayak. I have the same unit now over a year also, only niggles I found is the low volume output and the belt clip is a bit flimsy.

I must agree on belt clip, it's definitely not perfect. However volume is enough for me, I very often get calls from wife and I'm talking via VHF Bluetooth and have no issues to hear the voice. Also when on radio talk, sound is good. Check my other video I was fishing in Teelin. I was talking to Wolly and sound was crystal clear.
      Kindly
      Rimanas

Hey. Was thinking of getting this hh600 but there doesn't seem to be any details of how to programme in or add any channels to it. For example would Chirp software work on it? I'd be using this for kayaking but also with the Coastguard.

It's a small lake I love the fact it is water proof and floating but it doesn't perform at all half a star if that

Hi Romanas great video, where did you buy your Cobra HH600? I live in Ireland as well. Tight lines.

Hi, I've got it from there marineparts.ie/cobra-hh600-6w-floating-bluetooth-dsc-vhf/ but you can also check with Darrens kayaks if he has any in stock.

Do you have to pay a monthly fee for the GPS?

Hi Sebastian, there are no monthly fees. But you must register MMSI for GPS to work

I have never committed on anything but I got to on this product I could see my wife (barley) on our jet ski on the lake this radio could hardly communicate with her. When she was out of my sight I could not communicate with her at all. Less than a quarter mile batteries were fully charged and I was on the high setting. I was so so disappointed

Hi Skeeter. The only time I lost contact to other person was when they were approximately couple miles away and behind rocks. Rocks would be in the way of radio waves. Second time I had bad contact when person was over a mile away but behind an island, which also interfered with radio waves. Make sure antena is properly screwed in, and no contacts are broken. And I would consider return the radio if it doesn't work as it supposed to. One thing I dont like with this radio after 2 years now battery wont last long with Bluetooth on and on full power.

I really love the fact that the radio is tough water proof and floating sounded perfect for me cuz I NEED to stay in touch with my wife I spend a lot of time outside even my GPS is a hand held water proof also all my flashlights are the same I even spent over 200$ on rain wind and boots to stay dry it was definitely worth the money I try to be ready for anything and everything I also spent good money on a rough and tough phone lol satisfied with everything except the radios I guess I'll try another name brand even my bug out bag is 95% water proof everything In my bag is in triple ziplock bags it's about 40 pounds but enough air in it that it floats too all my gear is a blessing and a curse if that makes sense

It has a design fault - the recharging contacts on the reverse are stainless steel but they are only thin disks over copper . Even using it in a waterproof bag they get corrosion in behind which pops the stainless disks and renders the battery unit useless. Also volume is very poor and size is excessive for many vhf pockets or cases

Hi, Robert. You have very good point. It is a bit bulky, but having Bluetooth is a big pro for me. Having a chat hands free with my wife especially when im reeling in fish is something. Also 🆘 button was important for me when picking VHF. Volume is good and clear if in closer distance (vhf to vhf). I'm not quite sure about the contacts yet, as mine are still intact, and future will tell. This is waterproof vhf, so having a vhf in waterproof bag doesn't sound right. Humidity in the bag may be worse than accidental splash of water on vhf. Also this video was not a recommendation to buy one, as I don't get any money, but a little review and I shared my opinion. I still think that money wise you get the best deal with all these specs, while you could get hands on much better but also much more expensive VHFs. What do you currently use, and could you share your thoughts about your VHF?
