On the Drop Rates, you are correct, UW and FoW are the original Elite zones of the game, for what ever reason when HM was introduced the Devs chose not to up their drop rates; maybe to keep Ectos and Shards Rare, but that's a guess; anyhow your only bonus outside of Z coins for doing either HM is one more item from the final chest; that's it. So for either it's Max Pain for minimal gain. TYVM for these videos BB.
What a throwback. I used to do this on my D/Me ~13 years ago. 5 shards is a hell of a run though, I think I remember it averaging about 2 or 3 per run. Thanks for the content!
It's HA week rn, there were several groups going going about 12 hours ago went in and held for a bit, got boolied out by 2 teams on our 5th match as the holders. The prot and infuse were hella carried by our mo/p support, rank doesn't really mean anything anymore since people just farm bots in there for hours on end sometimes
I'm curious what /favor would say. That was a good haul, much better then I average. I normally clear the cave as part of the quests. I'll give it a go and try your run method.
Favor doesn’t affect crafting material drops. I’ve tested it in UW over the years with thousands of runs. The drop rate is one ecto every 1.82 runs farming only the chamber bulls and skeles. That’s both with favor and without.
Are you playing on the Steam version of the game? Thinking about picking it up but I don't know the best place to buy the game... Want to relieve old memories!

You can get a lot in WvW - I have 22 stacks trying to find a way to convert into Gold but it appears I'm going to have to just toss it.

Is the staff your using craftable or is it a green item?
Just a random gold staff drop inscribed I modded , 20% enchant, +20 energy
It was good when you could farm beach and spider cave with a sin it was so easy.

It is irrelevant. The steam version (I use) it is just the normal game and steam will act not much more than a launcher.
suggestion would be, go r/a, pop a conset and some pcons and farm much more of fow... much more profitable. can do all of cave in 5 mins instead of 22
