Morshu: Lamp oil, rope, bombs? You want it? It’s yours my friend, as long as you have enough rupees… Sorry link I can’t give credit, come back when you’re a little mmmmmm… richer!
I like the smaller version along with the toned down coloring. Being smaller would allow you to have more in a bag to help it feel more like a prop taken from the game. Plus the toned down color lends itself to feeling like currency that's been used as well. Sure the polished ones look nice but they feel like they were fresh from the Hyrulian mint whereas the others have been around for a while.
The sensitivity to detail is astounding - the sense of presentation when showing them, and sensitivity to the impression that different colors and transparencies give. But I think my favorite detail is that each facet is not perfectly flat, but has a gentle sloping right along the edge, which gives it a softer, more organic feeling.
@@HiddenRealm expecting natural crystals to not have imperfections is a little silly also expecting something intended to be a currency to not have softer edges due to wear over time being handled is also silly in the context of the world they’re from, honestly they almost look too perfect to me, but that is how they look in-game.
@@HiddenRealm , they probably soften them up or grow them in such a way as to make them form in such manner. Remember, Hyrule and its surrounding area is heavily influenced by magic and magical beings.
Could you imagine if in Nintendo World they gave you the option to use Rupees instead for currency that youd have to change at the front counter with a little pouch, and as you explored the town area youd see different vendors of each game accepting both cash and rupee. A bit complicated but man would that be nice
Tosh.0 Made fun of Zelda with a very awkward humor where he was mocking the game comparing it to King Arthur and Excalibur and I kind of agree though Hyrule might be Camelot and the Kingdom of Avalon. There is a real transaction called the Indian Rupee which is as close as you can get ONLY if you live in India and it's nothing like Zelda though Nintendo might have been inspired by the Indian Rupee.
@@futuristicentity2417 Actually, no. How the name "rupee" came to be used was that, originally, in the very first Legend of Zelda game, the currency was actually referred to as "rubies", as per the precious gemstone (typically red in color and highly sought after), which makes sense, as Zelda rupees look very much like various gemstones. Though, there was a typo either in the game's instruction manual or some menu screen in-game (can't remember which), spelling the name of the currency as "rupies", so I guess Nintendo rolled with the typo, later finalizing the name as "rupees", as per the Indian currency. As for Tosh.0, I find all of his humor and all of his delivery of such as very awkward, which is most likely intentional. It's part of the whole show's comedy. Not entirely my thing all the time, but it can get some cheap laughs out of me sometimes.
Awesome take on the Hylian rupee. The smaller rupees with less colour saturation would most likely be the Hylian currency if it were a real place. More realistic for the gems to come out that colour and easier to fit in a purse.
I love how they turned out, specially the small ones, it's always been my personal headcanon that all rupees hace different sizes according to their value, the green ones been the smallest and then blues, reds and so on getting proportionally bigger.
I'm pretty sure in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, they DID get bigger. Green, Blue, and Red, the ones from small chests, were "small item sized", while Purple, Silver, and Gold were from large chests and thus, larger in size. Or I'm misremembering.
I do imagine that size is a factor, but my headcanon is also that the more valuable colors are simply cut from rarer colors of whatever crystal they use. In a place like Hyrule and with such easily reproduced shapes instead of minted coins, they would need to be made of something somewhat rare, but not *too* rare. That way they self-regulate a bit as a currency, even though anybody who can get their hands on a supply of the crystals and the appropriate jeweling tools can effectively mint their own.
That would be awesome but with the rest of them as well not just these four there's a yellow one that's worth 10 introduced in Twilight princess there's also the black rupee worth -1 in skyward sword there's a silver one worth 100 and an orange one worth 200 both in Majora's mask
The darker ones remind me of Twilight Princess! I love them all, and my kids do too. The big rupees are their favorite. The smaller rupees are better if you don't have Link's awesome pocket capacity :)
I was a little sad you didn't make any yellow rupees, but your rupees are fantastic and gorgeous. The smaller sizes are more about how I'd imagine the rupees would be in reality and not actually palm-sized gems. I'm sure physical size of rupees doesn't matter to someone like Link though - he's a walking armory in every title. I think I liked the brighter gem colors more, but the more subdued tones are very pretty too.
And in case you were all curious. Green - 1 Rupee - Approx. 10 cents US IRL value (According to internet nerds) Blue - 5 Rupee - 50 cents US Yellow - 10 Rupee - US$1 Red - 20 Rupee - US$2 Purple - 50 Rupee - US$5 Silver - 100 Rupee - US$10 Gold - 200 Rupee - US$20 Actually...I wonder how silver and gold rupee would be made with this method?
Thank you for using subtitles. Your personal messages made it more special. It’s a very relaxing video. Gracias por este bello video! Muy relajante para ver!
It would also make sense for them to be smaller because of the fact theyre gems too yk?
