20 year before this time There are many styles of player in tournaments Such as pen holder J style and c style even rpb And many good defensive chopper short pip long pip Now we have only attach with shake hand style It is very boring to watch the player hit the ball like a robot and no art of play To make audience excited any more
That's Penhold strategy. Their wrist actions allow them to focus on third ball attack, to kill or miss. Since Penholder's serves are ferocious, tricky and delicate, they can set up for a quick kill. Another reason is, before RPB, they have to compensate for their relatively weak backhand. RSM peaked and won men's singles at the 2002 Olympic tournament but he's gone downhill since. Kim Taek Soo (Korean penholder in 80's) is probably the best Penholder in his era. His incredible footwork mostly covered his backhand play. The latest brilliant penholder, Xu Xin from China, reigned #1 couple years back, excelled in RPB, defense, serves and blessed with a lethal/powerful forehand.
@@spaceinvader384 Ryu Seung Min won the 2004 Olympics. Kim Taek Soo was not the best penholder of his era. He possessed a losing record against both Ma Lin and Liu Guo Liang. Penholder serves are just as good as the shakehand players. No better or worse. But penholders' backhands are inferior. So far, Wang Hao was the only penholder who could compete against the best players in the world. I mean with his backhand to backhand. Since Wang Hao, there are a few Chinese players with good backhands but their forehand side sucks big time.
The clash of Penholder Legends
No doubt 👍🏻
Why do they stand so far into corner for receive?
Their footwork was so fast, they could cover any part of the table to receive the serves.

@@benthekeeshond545 how about Xu Xin? His forehand in no less than Ma Lon's
@@benthekeeshond545 Kim Taek Soo defeated Liu Guo Liang with the set score 3:0 in Asian Games Final in 1998
Ma Lin in 2008 was in peak form - he was so dominant.
Match very interesting 👏👏👏
Как же они круты
Third ball kings
Ma Lin ............ PERÚ !
Oke very good😅
Muy duditativo en su juego ryu deberia haberlo atacado saque y de una no se le puede bloquear mas de 1 vez a ma lin
Ryu is not qualified with gold medal. He is just lucky.
