@Jane Dye Oh this is very true! I'm only 20 and I hold this song very close to my heart. I bought concert Tickets for February 25th for Austin, Texas at the Moody Center.

this one hits home. 3 years ago my dad had a very bad heart attack. 2 weeks later, the same day he came out of intensive care, my mom was at the hospital with him and she walked across the street to walgreens and was ran over by a car that ran a red light. she was life flighted to a trauma center. they are both alive and well now but in 2 weeks i almost lost both of my parents, literally a few minutes after talking to both of them
I had something with my grandparents similar. My grandmother had a heart attack, she was in the hospital and my mom and aunts were trying to prepare me and my sister (8 and 9) that she might not be coming home. We were very close to her and my grandpaw and so it was hard. Then in a matter of two day she was fine, and my grandfathers heart was giving out and he went Jaundice and forbid any of the grandkids from seeing him. He said he didn't want us remembering him like that and he was gone a day or two later. In the span of 4 days my grandmother went from deaths door to being fine and my grandfather went from fine to being gone and it was the strangest thing. But it reminded me of the song 'don't take the girl' the last chorus.
This is such an important message to all of us. We put off what is really most important because we are "busy" and then suddenly it's too late. Let's start getting our priorities in order.
I haven’t talked to my dad in years and you just made me pick up the phone and finally message him back… I have been leaving him on read forever like a damn child. Thank you.! god bless.! 🥹🙏
I love this song I’ve been obsessed with it recently, this is by far the most motivational song and a song telling you to make the best of your life with how little you have and with the others around you because they won’t be around forever.
Lost my father to a heart attack last August, right around the time this song came out. I will forever feel a strong to this song and the connection I formed with it in those early days of grieving.
I'm someone who doesn't know where they're heading in their life yet and every time I hear the song there's just chills down my back and I've heard the song hundreds of time and I still get chills down my back during the chorus
17 years old I went to school expecting my best friend to arrive he didn't. After 3rd period they called us to the auditorium. He wrecked and died 1000 feet from the school. All because he was gonna be late. We Could see the wreckage from the window. I still miss him. This song says everything I think about thst time
This song brings me to tears every time I hear it. I lost my Dad in August 2921 and the song came on the radio no long after. I had to pull over and just bailed for an hour.
This song always reminds me of my lost chance to see my grandfather one last time before he passed. I had school work and thought I would see him for Christmas that was only a month away. A week later we received a call from my grandmother that he was gone, passed away while sitting out in their garden. I always think back to that moment, when I chose projects that could have been pushed aside instead of visiting him one final time. I fully agree that you should always put your family ahead of anything and everything, nothing is more important.
Cody Johnson is classified as Red Dirt Country. He’s been big on the Texas scene for a while and is now coming around to East coast/Nashville country. It’s the equivalent to 90s country but today. I’d bet with your rock background you’d like Pecos and The Rooftops- This Damn Song
Thank you for your heartfelt reaction! Fantastic message in this song. We can all live with regret but we cannot change the past and need to look forward to the future. Do it till you can't. Yes!! The 90’s was the last Great country decade in my books. There is some newer songs and artists that are good but the 90’s, Every artist had hits!!
I find it's the independent artists like Frank Foster, creed Fisher, Cody Jinks etc are the best ones out there these days. Real country music is alive, ya just gotta find it.
My son in law’s brother wrote this song Ben Stennis. He wrote it about their dad here in Augusta Ga who is losing his memory and he regrets all the rain check s he gave his dad.

This song has made me cry in the car. I literally have to turn it off. No, no, I'm not saying it's a bad song, it's awesome, thats what makes me cry because it's so true for so many people, especially the past two years.
I’ve been to a lot of country concerts and this song live was one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever been apart of. 30k people singing this together because so many people can connect to this song.
Cojo is hands down the best live country artist! So interactive with the crowd! Always the hypest person in the building! And you gotta just love that Texas country sound!
Dude you really really need to check out more from cojo, he’s not even close to this new pop country bullshit you find on the radio these days. I used to go see cojo back when there was no more than 50 people in the bar, now he’s playing to 70k+ people at some of his shows. He’s amazing
The song won Country Music Award last month due to the votes from fans so that shows you how deeply this song has moved pple especially these last 2years.
I heard this song for the first time about a month after I unexpectedly lost my husband. This song and Hardy’s Give Heaven Some Hell. Another Hardy song you should give a listen to if you haven’t already.
Been a CoJo fan since day one when he was still bringing the house down at the Texas wine festival with his parents singing along side him to "Pray for rain" during one of Our biggest droughts ever in Houston!! And let me just say it brought the crowd to tears.. cojo nation
this is why I love country music, its not really for the music, but if you listen to the lyrics and pay attention its almost always a great message! you should look at luke combs beer never broke my heart. one of my favorites
May 4th ... the day before the diamond was going on her hand. Till You Can't ... truer words never spoken. To this day 40 years later I still regret out mutual decision to be ready which meant being established in careers, house ... you know waiting to start living because to busy getting to the point we could ... a freak storm tore the dream apart ... Blessed to be loved like that cursed to have it over before we did.
The very first time I heard this song it almost choked me to death. My mother has a very weak immune system and had just been hospitalized with covid. Through the work of some great personal and a whole lot of Prayer we were able to take her home 2 weeks later. It was real touch and go for a few days and all I could think of was the phone call I had missed from her the day before. Needless to say I was never more thankful to hear my mother's voice and tell her I loved her in my life.
Now, Imagine your 6 & 8 year-old sons singing this with all their heart in the car, tears every time 😂
Oh man ❤️ that’s a whole other way of thinking about it!
I have video of my 8 YO baby girl singing it on her karaoke machine on Christmas Day!

Please tell him this song is pure gold! I lost my mom too soon to cancer and this song crushes me every time I hear it.
Cody Johnson is amazing! This video always gives me the chills 💙
Agreed. I loved this one.
I just found your channel. This song hits me so damned hard every time, I lost my dad almost a year ago because of COVID. And it makes me tear up hearing it more than I let myself during his funeral. Thanks for doing this.
Every time I hear this Song I can't stop thinking of my mother and dad and just wished I could call them but they are in heaven ☹️☹️☹️💖💖💖💖
I just discovered Cody Johnson a few months ago and I have to tell you this guy is going to be BIG...Amazing voice and such a kind soul...Listen to his interviews sometime....Im not a big fan of country music but this guy is GREAT...Cant wait to hear all his music....
Cody Johnson is phenomenal!! That voice!!! Love him! ♥️♥️
I've heard this song a bunch and I love it, I was just kind of scrolling youtube and clicked on this to see what your reaction was cuz I kind of figured you weren't a country fan. love your reaction. You mentioned that you liked or semi liked 90's country and Reba and stuff.. Check out his Dear Rodeo video with her. Also check out his song I always wanted too. This guys songs remind me a lot of 90's country.
Have loved this song from day one but my first time seeing the video. Makes it way more sad and deep and even more special now.
If you’re a fan of this song, maybe check out “Always Wanted To” By Cody and a more fast paced world be his cover of “Long Haired Country Boy”
I heard this song for the first time about a month after I unexpectedly lost my husband. This song and Hardy’s Give Heaven Some Hell.
Another Hardy song you should give a listen to if you haven’t already.
@fischtank productions, this song won single of the year at the 2022 CMA Awards
Been a CoJo fan since day one when he was still bringing the house down at the Texas wine festival with his parents singing along side him to "Pray for rain" during one of Our biggest droughts ever in Houston!! And let me just say it brought the crowd to tears.. cojo nation

Cody Johnson is the definition of real country. He’s so good and even better in concert. Love this song.
May 4th ... the day before the diamond was going on her hand.
I get to see him tomorrow night. listen to his song dear rodeo from the Houston rodeo great live version it is
The very first time I heard this song it almost choked me to death.
