This bloke is a legend. Trekking in The Great Himalayas during Monsoon without any guide is equivalent to playing with DANGER⚠️. Hat's off to both of you. This has been an absolute belter of a series.
Advice for Trekkers going high altitude. 1) Prevention - Ascending slowly is best way to avoid altitude sickness - Avoiding strenuous activity. - Avoid Alcohol, Sleeping pills, Respiratory depressants. - First aid and tools 2) Pre acclimatization - Pre acclimatization is when body develops tolerance to low oxygen concentration before ascending altitude. - It significantly reduces risk because less time has to be spent at altitude to acclimatize in traditional way. - Several commercial systems exist that use altitude tents, so called because they mimic altitude by reducing the percentage of oxygen in air while keeping air pressure constant to the surrounding. 3) Altitude acclimatization - Altitude acclimatization is process of adjusting to decrease oxygen level at higher elevations, in order to avoid altitude sickness. - The rule is to ascend no more than 300m/day to sleep . - For high-altitude climbers, a typical acclimatization regimen might be to stay few days at base camp, climb up to higher camp(slowly), and then return to base camp. Hope this helps 🍀
I am 60 and have never done the Thorang La but have done the Larkye La (5100m ) which is much harder and KalaPatthar ( 5644m) which is much higher . Whether you get AMS is nothing to do with age or fitness it’s just one of those things but of course proper acclimatisation which you didn’t do , drinking loads of water which you didn’t , taking the Diamox which you took far too late . You were really lucky you weren’t really really Ill and bearing the mind it’s so out of season it could have been terrible . By the way Thorang La isn’t 15000 feet it’s 17,769 feet . Finally never sleep more than 500m above where you slept the night before . Thorong La is not for beginners you need to train . Anyway you’ve learned lesson I hope , great videos and thank good for Molly being there !
What you say about the Nepalis is 100 percent true . It’s the safest country , full of the best people who despite it’s relative poverty are so well educated and speak excellent English . Anyone who wants to go to Nepal pls do . I am not Nepali but I really love this country and it’s honest hardworking lovely people
You did the right thing uploading this video, so people who are planning to try this experience, can understand that mountains are serious stuff, can't play with them 🙏🏻 acclimatisation is a fundamental key for trekkings above 3000m. Hope you are feeling better now 🌿
omg guys BIG RESPECT for doing this trek! Glad to see you feeling better and Molly did such a great job!🤗 Totally agree with you that Nepalis are beautiful people, we experienced the same😍Lots of love, glen and mado
The trek wasn't that difficult, you guys as a beginner could do it. It's not being acclimatized enough caused altitude sickness, and can happen to anyone who try to complete the trek faster. Altitude sickness starts at 3500m level and gets profound at 4000m and higher. You need to carry medicine natural ingredients like garlic, black pepper work wonders as well.
Molly is strong, independent, can navigate and so calm even when Craig was getting worse from the sickness and maybe that helped Craig to return back. On the other hand Craig is just like me and i can relate so much to him. I'm not saying he's weak but sometimes people upload on yt just to glorify themselves but Craig did upload where it showed how bad he had gotten that he nearly quit. But craig is humble and kind to animals also sometimes philosophical but moreover humble and finds beauty in simplicity. He showed to the world the beauty of Nepal in much more simpler way which just made Nepal much more beautiful. Thank you for visiting my country. Namaste 🙏

Craig you are a comedy legend (now we know you survived). The arm falling off your sunglasses and having a nervous breakdown whilst bound in polythene on the side of a mountain. Respect for getting through it. Molly you are a legend. My partner (also called Molly) and I did the Mardi Himal trek last Winter and took 6 days to do a 3 day trek! Common Nepali advice was "slowly, slowly" - good advice. Really enjoyed this video, looking forward to following you both on more adventures (a bit jealous;). Bless up.
Another great vlog bro. A great lesson learned: Bistari bistari - slowly slowly. Spending a few nights and days in a village amongst village people will absolutely enhance your Nepali experience greatly. I have Nepali friends I first met in 1982 and still keep in regular contact with today. I've been travelling to Nepal since 1982 and did my first Annapurna trek (longer than 2 days) in 2017 aged 69 : Nayapul-Ghorepani-Ghandruk, 3500m - 3 nights - 4 days. One of the highlights of my life. Planning to return again early 2023. Subha yatra- Happy travels.
Molly is an absolute beast! Lucky you had her there to help you through it mate :) next time just don’t upload for a day, don’t put your health second to an upload schedule. Glad you guy made it! Looked incredible.
We Nepali are really happy what you did for our country :) by uploading such beautiful videos.... you really did the right thing by showing this video as well. its a message that high altitude can be dangerous without proper training and gears. i hope youre okay now. would really love to seeyou exploring other parts of nepal in future.
Your videos are really beautiful. You have described and appreciated all the small things about the places and people of Nepal, whether it's negative or positive. It's your presentation for representing how beautiful anything can be and how to live every bit of your life. That's the lesson everyone should learn. Life therefore isn't perfect but it's worth living. Thank you Craig and Molly.
You guys achieved one of the most difficult treck in the entire world alone without the help of any other external help. Thsts a very big achievement. Congratulations. Love from Nepal.
Molly you are the best, Craig your a lucky man to have a strong woman 👩 Keep up the great vlogs, congratulations on 15000ft, not many people will ever achieve this in their lifetime. 👍 Sydney, Australia 🇦🇺

So proud of you guys, I'm a big fan of Molly from now on, she's so brave. You both rocked, I was at the edge of my seat hoping you both were ok. I enjoyed how Craig pointed out the wild flowers and plants, very cool.
Not resting and pushing forward is the biggest mistake while hiking high altitude trails.... A general guide is to not gain elevation more than 300 metres per day.... i.e. supposing you start at 2000metres, then you can go upto 2500 metres but you have to come back down to 2000 or 2200 metres elevation..... High altitude treks are a "SLOWATHON" not a 100 metre race, that you rush to finish the trek in just 2-3 days.... Everything is planned carefully, keeping in mind the accomodation at various elevations, the nearest medical facility, the time of the year( in case of helicopter rescue, which is dificult in monsoon, due to unpredictable weather)...... You were lucky to have survived.... Many of m friends, went down the heroic path, and landed themselves in 1 month to 45 days in Intensive Care, with ventilator support....few did not make it..... I get the notion, that you are trying to advocate "affordable travel", but when it comes to health, it is better tot be safe than sorry.
Bravo, guys. Reaching the top of this pass was relatively easy for me. In fact we were dancing and singing around the turning and corners. However, I got cocky and decided to climb up a small hill (~30ft tall) to take photos from higher ground. 10 minutes on the top did so much damage on me, I could hardly see and breathe. I remember seeing glipmses of my friends carrying me down. They put me down for couple of minutes. A guide suggested me to run down to lower altitude asap. I left my bags and gear and started running with one of my friends. I know I wasn’t even running. He was dragging me down the hill. Poor guy. I survived. Anyways, long story short, never underestimate the Annapurna Circuit or any of these mountainous trekkings. Please come prepared with the tools, equipments. Do some in-depth research and preparations. Please be patient and don’t do stupid shits. It’s not that hard but preparation is the key.
Thank you for uploading this video, I know it could have been a very serious situation but the video did make me laugh a lot esp at the unpreparedness of it all!Craig is so funny. Molly is such a trooper . Regardless, you both are champions in my eyes, takes a lot of guts to do something like this . Amazing work 👏🏼
Wow Thank you Craig showing us all the things like mountain deers, leopards and flowers and plants up in 15000 ft. I know it is hard and difficult if not prepared for this kind of adventure. Molly is really super girl. Hope you guys enjoy Your travelling more. Good luck
Glad you guys are back safely. And hopefully other will learn something from this vlog that treks in Himalaya aren’t to be taken lightly. With all the chaos you went through from thunder storm, altitude sickness, running down hill and of course broken RayBan, Molly forgetting GoPro,I still managed to laugh along this vlog, yeah kind of a Dark Humour 😛.
This will be lesson for everyone who would like to travel in the mountains. Without preparation, without knowing what actually can go wrong in the travelling is not the smart things to do. People will learn from your experience. Thank you again for showing all this. All the best
Well done Craig and Molly. You were definitely getting AMS. But you survived, guess what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I have done this pass twice (2015/2018) not a joke at all. To have done this in the monsoon earns you a big bragging right. Pushing on could have been fatal for many.
Before you climb if you talk with locals you may get ideas and herbal medicine for the high altitude that may help. I am happy to see you at the end of the video you r well fit and fine.Lots of love and wish you more success in life thank for visit our country and thank you for beauty ful video.Thank you for everything
Like who told you this trek/hike would be beginner? As someone who has done bunch of 14ers in Colorado and have done hike in Nepal i would never do this hike on such thin layer and take it lightly. First thing i would do is go through sites like alltrails or other reputable hiking websites to understand the altitude changes and terrain i would be going through. Also, going through reviews people have posted gives you good enough idea of current conditions. Anyways glad you guys made it. Kudos to Molly for being calm in such a extreme environment and taking over vlogging. Shes a keeper for sure.
I think he didn't do enough research, it may be possible to do this trek as a beginner but you really gotta spend some time reading and planning. In this case as a beginner I feel like he should have had Diamox just in case or at least be familiar with it.
And remember to never go alone! Whatever happens to anyone, there should be someone who can take care in these mountains. You can never know what these mountains unfold!
Rockstar Molly always cheerful and helpful.....thats the best healing medicine you got....so you ll be alright....but dont go anywhere without molly....
Solid reenactment of the final scenes of LOTR. Frodo’s slow decent into sickness/madness as they ascend mount doom, Sam (Molly) emerging as the true hero who keeps shit together
I doesn’t see any negative things here you did the right things where you save your life someone the people were so stupid they only thought just a small headache and then they continue that cause dead… happy that you are save and learned and teach those kind of people who were not prepare…. Thank you for wonderful blog and healthy tips
Man you could’ve died! Molly is a keeper! Strong, sturdy and smiled all through your whinging! Hope to see more of your adventures… enjoying how Molly is getting more involved in these videos… her cameos add a new perspective and value to your videos… guys plz don’t leave Nepal yet! Looking forward to more vids!! 👍🤘🫶
Same thing happened to me 3 months ago i had a really bad chest pain felt like an heartattack in tilicho basecamp there was a healthpost where you could check whether you are able to go in tilicho they will suggest you give you some treatment...i didnt thought i was able to be alive but luckily they inject painkiller i think and told you are fine to go tilicho lake....i think its really important to take some medicine with you and have to consume soup and healthy food dont drink alcohol after you reached your destination for celebration its really dangerous i heard a lot of stories from the hotelier reagarding death because of people careless .people thought its short destination and and go for trek without preparation..
What you did was amazing. Don't be hard on yourself. Also thank you for letting people know that acclimatization is important. Man after all you are a very funny man with many positive vibes.
Of course you did practically everything wrong you could do wrong (starting with not staying at Yak Kharka or Ledtar on the way up). Manang-Thorong La in two days is asking for trouble. Better to have at least one acclimatisation day in Manang or Braga, the next day up to Ledtar, next day up to Thorong High Camp, then crossing (so four days). But first you showed future trekkers what NOT to do, which is helping a lot. And second you and your lady are outstandingly loveable characters, seeing all the small things many people don't see, and being so in awe and full of enthusiasm and delight. It's an honor to follow you. 🙂
Honestly he is quite lucky on this trip. Ask Nims even though they are professional mountain climber. It is beautiful but dangerous as well. At the end you learnt the lesson and advice to other travellers is really appreciate. 🙏🏼
both of you are really amazing!! you guys always try to make a good contain for viewers, you're almost there keep going will hit the 100K sooner ❣❣ [you got a really supportive and caring partner with you, don't have to worry about anything!! (Molly🌹)]
While in high altitude you have to breath slow and move slow and steady. You need a slow and steady breath , drink water little by little and walk very slow and steady.
Take it slow and steady. Drink plenty of water and never miss out on acclimatization. The beauty of nature is here to stay so there is no need to rush. It's also advisable to take a guide along for peace of mind when doing these tough uncharted terrains. Anyways glad you guys are doing well and wish you both the best!
Amazing trek.. It been a couple of week that I came to know about your vlogs and it's really amazing and addictive. I would like to recommend you guys to visit Sikkim too, which is Indian state near to nepal. Thankyou! Lots of love.
I totally feel you guys coz I have completed Annapurna Base Camp.Climbing up hills is easier said than done. So, huge respect both of you.Your honesty will definitely be helpful and is a message to those who are planning to trek underprepared.❤️🇳🇵
I can feel you Craig. Even being a Nepali, I have experienced this before. Having grown up in the Himalayas even didn't help me. Sometimes we just need to accept that every one's body is build different physiologically. But to be prepared is must. Have a good time Craig and Molly. Cheers!
14:00 Oh Dear Molly, You look really sweet & soft like someone who wouldn't take much challenges. But turns out you're way tougher than you look. Its not easy vlogging while hiking. But you are doing it. Great 👏👏👏
Going down watch out for your knees and increase in oxygen ...this pass is so quick into the altitude sickness area , and then down you go quickly, GO TOO EVEREST BASE CAMP AREA ,your at this altitude for days , but you need to acclimatize on way up ... not like on this hike .... well done molly all humans react different up there, I had to stopp for 3 days going up to Everest to acclimatise .... well done to you both ...man! Those glaciers sure have retreated a lot ....great video thank you ..again well done Craig and molly ...
Bro ur not going to get so much hate but urrr going to get lots of love Cause u r in Nepal bro Love your content 😘 tnk u 4r showing our country and loving this much 🙏🙏🙏
thanks to visite in my country nepal. we hope that you both really enjoy with our himalays and natural beauty as well our different cultural ❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️
the main mistake you did was climbing up too high without acclimatization , it could have been more dangerous . and other thing is try to speak as least as possible while you are low on Oxygen and inhale from mouth and exhale from nose which helps you from lack of breath problem . It helps you a lot . keep trekking guys . ❤️
Such an amazing video ❤️ you guys are great. I hope you both are well recovered... Appreciate your work Molly. You're such a caring and loving woman ❤️ loads of love to both of you 💕
Well done and keep up the good work. You have done once in a lifetime experience. I am doing Everest Base Camp this November. Can’t wait. Nevertheless,Thanks for your tips.
sir i suggest u that take a healthy food and get your energy higher. u feel dizzzy and vomiting becouse of weakness, take care we love u both of u🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🙏❤️❤️thank you very much for visiting Nepal we hope you will remember our country
Thank god u guys are all right. Yes its the mens ego that they are stronger than women. Next time be prepared. Take it slow. Ask the professionals. Anyway this seems to be a good experience for you. Hope u do more treks in the future. Well you said you’d not do this trek again but i am sure you’d want to do it again. The mountains will call you.
Great video of what not to do in the Himalaya. You maybe don't know how close you were to a real life threatening situation. All guide books, the permit office and all the lodges along the way give sound advice of how to avoid this situation, yet every year people ignore and suffer. Craig and Molly please come back and do the same trek again taking the proper precautions, show people how it should be done. Thank you for the education.
True budget traveling does not apply every were specially in such places so pls even in such place u have facilities of tea house so just enjoy….don’t try to save few $$$$ putting ur life in danger…welcome to Nepal!!🙏
I am glad you guys are doing good. I was running out of breath justlooking at you guys and the hije. Ya’ll did great. And its a lesson to people who are planning on going for a hike in that altitude. Keep it up both of you. Kudos 👏🏼
Craig mate do you use travel insurance if so which? Genuinely curious if you bother with it remember if you've said. Keep going you deserve the credit!

Shes a keeper for sure.
nobody told him. he did it by his choice. and he's not complaining dude. just showing the world what its like to
I think he didn't do enough research, it may be possible to do this trek as a beginner but you really gotta spend some time reading and planning. In this case as a beginner I feel like he should have had Diamox just in case or at least be familiar with it.
No one tells him what to do and what not to do? U lado chus and bas
Nepal's altitude is not a joke.
You’ve shown the world 🌎 that Nepal has Beautiful Country and Nature as well
A lots of love ❤️ 💕 From Nepal,
Molly you nailed it! Love ❤️
Molly was so worried but she keep smiling & motivate.may be next time you guys trek according to guidelines.
Molly is tough. Her physical and mental aptitude for mountaineering is very good. She might be able to conquer some 8000m peaks.
Thank you for wonderful blog and healthy tips
these two are just beautiful... love both of your approach to life... finding myself being a fan of molly now... we appreciate you guys... big up 🙌
Man you could’ve died! Molly is a keeper! Strong, sturdy and smiled all through your whinging!
The himalayan poppy looks spectacular! What a beauty🌿🌸🌿
Heaven is myth,Nepal is real
Honestly he is quite lucky on this trip. Ask Nims even though they are professional mountain climber. It is beautiful but dangerous as well. At the end you learnt the lesson and advice to other travellers is really appreciate.
🙏🏼
Despite the weather condition and off season for hiking, you guys nailed it.Great team work.Great achievement.
i trekked through thorangla pass when i was 15. this video brings all the memories back.
both of you are really amazing!! you guys always try to make a good contain for viewers, you're almost there
keep going will hit the 100K sooner ❣❣ [you got a really supportive and caring partner with you, don't have to worry about anything!! (Molly🌹)]
While in high altitude you have to breath slow and move slow and steady. You need a slow and steady breath , drink water little by little and walk very slow and steady.
Craig, you're an inspiration. That's what I think about you. Just disregard the haters, that doesn't matter. You're the best!
Thank you very much buddy and the way you travel at this video is really dangerous i.e altitude sickness and every new video = new experiences
Molly your wonderful, you go girl. All the best.
Cheers!

Oh Dear Molly,
You look really sweet & soft like someone who wouldn't take much challenges. But turns out you're way tougher than you look. Its not easy vlogging while hiking. But you are doing it. Great 👏👏👏
Very informative!! And hearing how it wasn't planned as much, you both are preety brave
Laughed my ass off…Nice going guys and congrats for the achievement

7:02 remember that during trekking in Himalayas, try your best not to touch flowers. The pollens from these cause headache and nausea.
This is greatest educational vlog plus inspirational and what I found Miss Moli is courageous young lady well done to both of you
Molly, you beauty! You did an awesome job helping Craig return back safely. You are a ripper.
the main mistake you did was climbing up too high without acclimatization , it could have been more dangerous . and other thing is try to speak as least as possible while you are low on Oxygen and inhale from mouth and exhale from nose which helps you from lack of breath problem . It helps you a lot .
keep trekking guys . ❤️
Such an amazing video ❤️ you guys are great. I hope you both are well recovered... Appreciate your work Molly. You're such a caring and loving woman ❤️ loads of love to both of you 💕

Thanks for your volg of our county which can't see our Himalaya views that complete by your vlog ❤️
Thanks 🙏 for both of yours great comment about amazing Nepal and Nepalese people.
I’m enjoying watching beautiful molee speaking and telling people about tracking 😀❤️😢
I worked there in manang for 4 years. Done Thorang-la-pass, trekked Tilicho Lake and all. I feel myself in you again watching this vlogs 🙏❤️
