But what happens when there is no direct light, such as in atmospheric or overcast conditions? The focus shifts from light and shadow to patterns and color. Notice the dominant patterns and vibrant colors used in the artwork. These elements of design take center stage, conveying the intended message even when the light is subtle.
In these conditions, we are limited between light and dark, so we rely on design, pattern, and color to express our ideas effectively.
