Good video. I've just signed up to Sharesies and I feel like a first year student at Hogwarts! I've never done investing before (other than Kiwisaver), however I plan to read up on everything like I'm Hermione Granger.
Thank you for the video! Very helpful and you broke it down nice and easy! I signed up before watching the video so couldn’t use the code, but I think it’s great you are sharing yours for future users!
Question, does the exchange between usd and nzd automatically happen when u buy a share of stock or do u have to change it somehow, just confused on that part thanks
You have to manually transfer your NZD into USD on the Sharesies app under the Wallet tab. When you buy Australian shares you have to transfer your NZD into AUD as well.
@@osmoregulatoryorgan Both are good! Sharesies feels more user friendly but the fees are way higher in comparison to Tiger Brokers or Interactive Brokers.
I am not familliar on share investment at all, so do i have add money, buy stocks and wait for it to grow somehow and then withdraw? Is that how it works
I found Sharesies pricing structure confusing. 1. Have you done comparison analysis between sharsies vs other investment brokers like hatch, stake, interactive brokers ? 2. Has there been any analysis on what investment style sharesies is better than rest?
Hey Bro I had a question. If I have a kiwisaver that invests in US market, and the value in that reaches $25,000> And I buy $25,000 worth of american stocks on Sharesies. Am I liable for Fif tax?
I’m not sure what the cross over is with KiwiSaver or if your KiwiSaver investments have any impact on the $50k NZD amount. It might have more info on IRD’s website or speak to an accountant / Tax advisor.
Thanks for the kind words and supporting the channel. I can’t really give any direct recommendations for US companies as I’m currently investing mainly into crypto in line with the Bitcoin halving cycle.

Would sharsies be more of an entry level platform compared to say, Tiger??

For long term investing can you compare to Kernel Wealth and Investnow?
I definitely can look into doing some comparison videos. I was planning reviewing Interactive Brokers.
I think sharesies is great for anyone new or familiar with stocks in nz

Yes that is what you do but you can influence the growth based on what kind of companies/ETFs you invest in.

That’s going to be an up-coming upload.

Sharesies is a really expensive platform bro, tiger brokerage is better.
I have looked at their fees and they are quite well priced.
How do you get the promo code?
There’s a “Refer a friend” tab on Sharesies that gives you a link
How do I send you a screenshot?
