Never never fill your firestick like that - even the 4k.. A better way is an on the go cable that allows you to use a usb key in line with the power. Costs just a couple of quid and an old usb key you have laying around. Put as many games on as you like without causing problems with the firestick.
Thanks for watching and great suggestion... I just tried it with both Recast and Redream only marginally improved performance relying on heavy frameskips to deliver a playable experience. Although Redream was certainly the better of the two 👍
I haven’t tried it but it’s plenty powerful enough. Manage your expectations but I’d imagine a majority of 2D games that have lower memory requirements should deliver satisfactory results. I’d say it’s somewhere between a Pi 3b+ and 4
Ideally you’d use a computer to transfer the games over. It will be possible to download directly from the web on the fire stick but I wouldn’t recommend it as it’s easier to manage the files on PC before transferring to the stick. Hope that helps.
Wow I’m super lucky to have found this the day before I go on holiday! Installing retroarch tomorrow morning
Do it! YOLO
The fact that you used Mario is Missing to show off SNES performance just makes me even more glad I found your channel haha
Haha thanks, it’s subtle 😆
Great video. I got that exact one. I bought it specifically to live plugged in the back if my projector. 👍🏾💯
Thanks for watching! Yeah it’s a neat little device. I’m pretty impressed with it overall, especially for the price
Thanks
You’re welcome ☺️
great video! were you using the 4k or 4k max?
Just the normal 4K. The Max is a fair bit more capable, I want to check it out at some point
@@NewRetroAdventures that would be great, a comparison would be neat too

Great vid! Will it handle neogeo games do ya reckon? Also more fire puns plz ! 🔥
It’s a bit of a scorcher for what it is, not blazing fast but Neo Geo will probably be ok. I’ll fire up a few and let you know how it boils down.
Would be cool to see your top ten gameboy colour or advance games
Thanks! They're on my long list of videos to work on but GBA is coming soon :)
Can you install non-Retroarch emulators like Redream? You might get better performance.

Im trying to load the games from a USB but RetroArch on my Fire Stick is not recognizing the USB. Any idea why? (USB formatted to FAT32)
Will it play arcade roms via Mame?
