Bob, very clear explanation, I got the firmware updated and it works well, I put the second receiver in the turret of my tank so to control the gun and the tank commander figure, and no need for the extra wiring of going thru the slip ring.
Thank you for your videos on this radio, I have been waiting for this firmware update. So now I will order one of these great radios. Thanks again. Robert T Sweden
Hey Bob,I updated the firmware and everything was going good until I got to trying.......the PRO MIXES,totally lost.I hope you do a quick video on the mixes soon. Great videos.THANKS
I'm also lost with the new Pro Mixes. I had all the mixes done with the hydraulic pump, on the old firmware. Now I'm unable to get them working. So Bob, help us please !
Does this PL-18 radio allow a SD card to save your model memory that can be inserted after the update? Because that's a pretty big bummer it wont hold your model memory, it probably completely re-writes over the old program for updating.
This update replaces the old mixing settings, replacing it with pro mixing which am still trying to figure out how to setup my king hauler horn and lights setup on different switches
Hi Bob. I read somewhere that they would have an update to allow you to use the IA receivers like the FS-IA10B that seems to come in all the hydraulic construction machinery with the FS-I6S? Do you know anything about that? I can't seem to find any information anywhere about it. Thank you!
@@HobbyconceptsLLC Great, Thanks. That's all I was able to find also but nothing definitive about if or how well it works. The module is only like $25 so I've ordered one to try it out. I just want to be able to control my excavator, track loader, and bulldozer with the EV but also maintain the option of still using the I6S's in case I have friends or others join me, they could still operate them as well. Of course the downside is losing the ability to utilize the newer enhanced receivers without swapping modules back and forth, but I'm going to give it try and see how it goes. Enjoy your videos, BTW. Used your video as a guide to set up the mixes on my bulldozer. First time messing with mixes and it was nice to have something to follow. Great job! Thanks again.
Hi bob I’m about to update my EV transmitter. I have a question can you pwdm convert from the second receiver or possibly have 3 receivers within the 18 channels?
New 12b receiver arrives in the mail, loaded with v2, forcing a firmware update. Thanks Bob for this video. Too bad that updating the firmware removed the assignments of switches A C and F. They are now simply greyed out, and even doing a full factory reset does not restore them to a useable state. Not only that, F is in some kind of protected state and a warning is played on startup if the switch is not in the state that the radio thinks it should be. This is not in a programmed state either, this is after a factory reset as well, where nothing at all is programmed.
Just meant I thought it was weird that mine worked fine (2 of them) and yours did not. Wondered why. Always trying to learn more about all this myself.
@@HobbyconceptsLLC yeah me too. I suspect the QC on some of this stuff isn’t as good as we’d expect. There’s no rhyme or reason why it did this, having done way too many of these things in the industrial space, I’ve certainly learned that no two boxes will behave the same, unless you’re somebody like apple and made a few zillion of them. Oh course, there will be crickets from Flysky about it.
Dear Bob, Always a pleasure to Watch your video’s. I’ve a question about the Beier SFR1 and the PL18EV. I’ve a Tamiya Volvo Tow truck and I want to use the 2 Receivers Both connected to the same SFR1. I want to be able to switch beween the two Receivers through duel model Setup ( Diving part / Towing part ).. The idea is to use the same mult-joysticks for a/ Diving part and b/ towing part. Is this possible and how can this been done. THX, Greetings from Belgium.

Perfect example of a dual receiver setup - Thanks!
I did not lose any models when I updated mine i have 8 in there too I didn't have to rebind any of my receivers either
Awesome
this is amazing specially if you wanna over lap the trailer to turn its wheels to help turning in Euro Trucks

I'm updating mine now
Awesome vedio Bob!
Love your details in your vedios
Great explanation Bob thank you! I would to know how to back up the transmitter and restore it after the update please? thank you

The only thing I have seen about it requires a module replacement in the radio.

From where do the receivers get voltage ? from ESC ? can you put an esc with ubec 5V on one receiver, and a 7.2V esc on the other receiver?
Is it necessary to update any earlier updates by release dates before this one .

Can i bind fgr4b together with 12b? Or 4B need to be setup as classic rx?

That is weird. My switches all came up just fine.
@@HobbyconceptsLLC that’s weird, but in all fairness, the suggestion that yours was just fine isn’t exactly helpful.

Mine did the same and now when I combine models they shut down unless using that particular model
Hi Bob, is it possible to make a backup of a model?
Can the standard PL18 do model combination?
I have only looked at the PL18 EV but think the dual model is a feature unique to that radio.
Thank you😀

Driving not diving
That would work fine. Just set up two models and use a switch to go between them. Like the Backhoe I just reviewed.
Bob what battery are you using when your binding your receiver
I generally us a 4 AA Holder.
How i can charge the Transmitter with the usb cable?
When i pluged in the cable it only shows a batterie on the Display, and didnt charging. Help 😅
Should charge. You might try a different cable or a more powerful source.
Hi.
Can you tell me what the new update can do?

@@HobbyconceptsLLC Good day.
Are the models on the controller gone after the update?
@@micheleugster3602 hello Michel; yes, the models are reseted after the update; so backup them before to do it, like Bob said.
💕👍
Does the multi receiver function allow you to bind 3 receivers?
No I try that didn’t work
