Ben Stein is the best unintentionally funny guy I have ever seen. I have to admit, anyone who wants to put up that much money to say he's smarter than you is pretty brave. Love the show.
Great job...I watched this show religiously and likely saw it when it originally aired. I just tied Ben with 5 - I would tie or beat him 20% of the time and tie/beat the contestants about 75% of the time, you did great!
Was this your own private recording or did you acquire it somehow? I was on it in 1999 and would love to get a copy! (Sadly, I lost in the second round - but the woman that beat me also beat Ben!)
@@actownsend7288 Thanks-it was all pretty casual and relaxed. Everyone was nice. We were told ahead of time not to bring up Nixon or Reagan, two of Ben’s heroes, which I found quite funny.
@@mortkamins4943 That’s really great they were so chilled. Ben is writing a book about Nixon it comes out later in 2022. I’m anxious to read it and I’m a Democrat!!!! I used to watch WBSM with my grandmother and it made her smile & laugh in her final years.
The Jeopardy games of his are on J-archive. One episode of his run on Double Dare in 1977 is on RUclips. WOnder if he has his original run on CHallengers or parts thereof; his TofC appearance on that show is on RUclips
That's Funny. I have an extremely high IQ and won a Trivia $10,000 GSN exhibition against 89 others in Phila once. And I can see Ben truly hated that Mort knew more answers than he. This happened to me a fair bit in life where persons thought themselves brilliant until they understood the abilities of genius or near genius upon encountering me. Even my older brother, full Ivy League ride, hated it as I grew upband he had to face someone was smarter. Not bragging, just relating life experience. I'm certain there's someone smarter than myself....haven't met them, though.
My favorite part of Win Ben Stein's Money? The booths, man.
I used to love watching this show!! I cannot wait to see more episodes!!
hows that wait going?
That was one of the harder “best of 10” rounds I’ve ever seen on WBSM, and to get a 7?! Incredible
Great job! What an amazing performance.
That was an epic win, especially since you went second! Well done Mort!

The running joke is that if at anytime a player answered "In the form of a question" they had to wear a dunce cap for the rest of the round.
That win is worth every single penny!
You did great Mort. Congrats on beating Ben Stein.
Hey, thanks. My favorite opponent.
@@mortkamins4943 It's good to see you're active still.
Thank you for sharing your many quizzing triumphs with us.
Mort Kamins has been on Sale of the Century and won over 100,000 in cash and prizes and was a jeopardy champion for at least 2 episodes on RUclips
Fact check: True
Have you ever tried to get on Who Wanrs to Be a Millionaire
@@richardcleveland6949 I have a (too long to go into) story about that. The short answer is I did try and should have been selected.

Mort does it again
Why did nobody think to build that blinking “Winner!” sign earlier?!

We recorded it at the time on VHS.

Congratulations.
I remember seeing you on Jeopardy
WINNER!
It's interesting hearing that you were on shows in other countries. What were those other shows anyway?
Krypton Factor in the UK, Sale of the Century in Australia
Adam Modrak It’s not much of a profession when I haven’t won a cent in 20 years
Still quite handsome, Mort.
Well, time has done its dirty work since then
Can’t be that bad

I wonder if Candace is still single? 😍
Wish we could see your run from the challengers
I've discovered a digital copy of my Challengers appearance. Will try to edit and upload at some point.

Rah Rah!
I’ll take it.
Sal Iacono is hot! Please I love this show!
Wow, you're so smart, Mort!
Funny enough, one of the only questions I knew, the animus question, you guys both got wrong :p
hum how would he stack up against James on Jeopardy
Louis Tenore Today he would destroy me. In my prime, on my best day and his worst, I might be competitive.
@@mortkamins4943 by the way i saw your win on Sale of the Century we had a snow day so i was able to see it
@@mortkamins4943 thanks for the reply
Here's a June 2002 episode of Win Ben Stein's Money and the players are Mort, Candyce, & Paul.

Ben seems like a nice guy. He’s also a Republican, so you know he has the common sense to go along with the intellect.
I was fortunate to meet Ben Stein in 2023. He is a very nice gentleman.
Oh yes he is a Republican but I have heard from many people I’ve talked to who have met Ben and say he’s very nice and smart as well.
@@PatrickDoran2319check on all counts and I’m a committed liberal Democrat
I think being able to best Ben Stein is worth a lot more than $5,000
@@NeedlessExposition I like the way you think
Jimmy Kimmel’s cousin Sal hosting this show after Jimmy left was one of the most unabashed display of nepotism I’ve ever seen.
I wonder if any contestant or Ben got all 10 questions at the end…
I remember seeing Ben get all 10 on occasion. I can't remember if a contestant ever did.
Yes there is an episode titled Ben Strips. Check it out for yourself.
