Heard it on the radio this morning (Dutch classical music channel), and the host of the morning show said that 'not only does Scholl sing beautifully, but he also whistles impressively.'
I listen to this song all the time! It is so addictive! I sing and I whistle this song all the day and every day!!! It is such a beautiful melody and Andreas sings and whistles so beautifully! I love him! ❤️❤️❤️

I just love his voice and this tune. 2023 now, I regularly return to this video. As a male and with a lot of singing in car practise (also to Jaroussky), I can sing along at those countertenors pitch. Without practise, it takes some time. Well, it's not as beautyful but serves me well 😀

i've discovered so many good things in 2 months of u-tubing and Andreas Scholl is among the finest; i have loved the counter tenor voice for 30 years, but never knew where to find an adequate supply.....that makes it sound like a drug! -................. all i can say that these 5+ pieces i've seen here will do me nicely for another 30 years! my musical nirvana would be if Andreas Scholl, were to sing,'' I will give my love an apple''
He is amazing. 'This massive man, singing so effortlessly and elegantly. Beautiful. The melody is very soothing. Who does the whistling? It's terrific, too.
It is for giving a more natural sound, like if you were standing in front of him but in a proper distance so the listener could hear both Andreas and the acoustics of the room.

Being a countertenor isn't the same as being Andreas Scholl.
It seems the same reason as for some people use photographs of other persons in their account. It's, indeed, a bit strange, I think......
