    That has to be some of the best Ag photography ever, thanks for posting Scott. We do not have Ag aviation in the U.K. anymore :-( when we did the pilots used to describe some areas of the U.K. as the "Birdcage" due to wires and power lines. They had "Flag Men" and Rice Paper markers back then, no GPS systems.

    • @yungamurai
      @yungamurai 3 года назад

      Alistair Powers How come agricultural aviation stopped in the UK? I’d love to see these guys cutting low across the fields. I guess a lot of places are unsuitable due to the smaller fields and infrastructure such as lines and pylons but there must be places out East (Lincs, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire) where this could be practical?

    • @whathasxgottodowithit3919.
      @whathasxgottodowithit3919. 3 года назад +1

      @@yungamurai The size of the fields was not the problem, a small matter of E.U. regulations. Whilst not totally prohibited, the regulations make it almost impractical. Arial spraying is very weather dependent, and the contractors need to go at short notice. Obtaining permissions, submitting spray plans, and consultation periods make it almost impossible.

    Scott- Great video content. I enjoyed all of the camera shots. I watch every crop duster I see but your camera shots take us closer to the real action.
    I am a long time Iowa RC pilot; we regularly retrieve downed planes from corn fields. Our corn was more than 8 feet tall this year; it is tough to find downed planes even with drone overflights. Your corn field photo resembles some hours long searches.
    I’ve been stopping in Independence for decades. It is sure a sleepy little town.
