Ah Marie such a sad loss he inspired me to attempt to play some songs I never would’ve tried before. I must say he just seemed like such a passionate and generous man. Sorry for your loss x
I keep coming back to this channel because Dave kept making videos for songs that I want to learn. He was a gentleman and a scholar. RIP mate, thanks for everything.
Please accept my very belated condolences on your loss. I found Dave's channel only two days ago (September 1, 2024) when I was searching for a tutorial video for the song, "It's Only Love". The lesson he recorded was perfect for me. What a great teacher he must have been. And I must say that the outro lead was incredibly tasty playing, as we say in the U.S. I'm looking forward to learning it from his video tutorial. I found this memorial today. What a lovely remembrance. I have made a donation in his name to Cancer Research UK. Thank you to Dave's widow, Marie, for deciding to leave the channel active. Dave is still teaching people.
Adding my respects . I really liked his guitar pedagogy & his generosity - a fine gentleman . Don't take life for granted people . Thanks to Dave's wife for allowing us to continue to learn from him - it's such a valuable resource .
So sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I learned so much watching his patiently crafted videos and his passion for music was infectious. Thanks for everything Dave 🙏

Tout semblait simple dans sa façon d'expliquer et d'analyser les morceaux . We lose a great teacher , a great guitarist and probably a great man. RIP monsieur Dave Price

F..k, that is some very sad news… Dave was around the same age as me and was one of the smoothest playing guitarists I have seen on RUclips and followed for that reason along with watching and playing with some of his vids. God speed my brother Dave… 💔
I've only just come across this video. I was so sorry to hear about Dave. I've been using his tutorials for years. Whenever I have needed to learn anything, particularly rhythm guitar like Nile Rogers I always seem to end up back at one of his excellent tutorials. He was the best at this style on youtube, and so good at explaining technique. He almost became like a sort of friend.
Oh my goodness. So sad to hear that he is gone. I love his videos and I didn't even play guitar. So sorry to his friends, family and band mates for this loss.
I came about Dave's channel by accident on recently and got hooked to watch many more of his videos not knowing he had passed on 2 years ago 😥He was a fantastic guitar player and teacher. So sorry that he has passed. He would have undoubtedly shared more of his knowledge had he lived on. Very late to pass on my condolences to his wife Marie and the family. His soul lives on. RIP Dave.
Dave, was a wonderful musician and teacher and you can tell, a beautiful person. It is very touching that his musical legacy lives on and will be enjoyed by so many. Thank you Dave.
I have spent hours and hours watching Dave's videos. What an incredible guitarist and humble person. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. Gone but certainly not forgotten.

Rest in Peace, Dave. Your lessons and tabs introduced me to a lot of great music that I'm still listening to today. Thank you for the joy you brought us.
This is a massive shock. I was just watching Dave's Alan Murphy videos and scrolled down and saw this. I had no idea he had passed. What a dreadful shame. Awesome player. God bless him ❤
I just discovered a wonderful Dave Price lesson and tab on YT and now find out he's gone. My humble respect and condolences to his family and devoted fans.
Very sad to hear about Dave’s passing. I used to watch his videos all the time. I had just went back to one of his older ones I liked and went to check up on the current status of his channel only to find this video as his most recent upload. RIP Dave.
I just discovered the channel and was so sad to hear of Dave's passing. What an amazing player, teacher, and sounds like an amazing person. God's grace and peace be with Dave's family and friends.
Dave was such a top bloke and I'm still using some of his material! I have actually just posted a video of me playing one of his finger style guitar songs called "Lullaby" on tik tok. I didn't really know if this was something I could do or should share. It's a real shame that this has happened and I'm sure he will always be remembered not just for his music but for being such a great guy.
I'm sadden to hear the news of the passing of Dave Price. I have only learned today 08 June 2023 so appreciate that it is close to a year since he so sadly left us. The tribute from his long standing friend seemed fitting and so despite my personal circumstances I will make a donation to a cancer charity in honour of him. My belated and sincere condolences to his family and may he rest in perpetual peace. Thanks Dave for generously sharing your talents and leaving us budding guitarist with this ample legacy on RUclips.
What a talent and such a loss, my heart goes out to his family. Dave's teaching legacy will live on through his extensive library of material and the vast number of students he helped along the way.
Only a couple of days ago I was in a shop with a musician friend of mine and Sister Sledge's Thinking of You came on. Me a massive soul fan, him not. But as the opening ''riff''started we both looked at each other and smiled. He said ,''Who's that on guitar?''' This prompted a short conversation about the (almost) inimitable style of Rodgers. I said, ''But....there's a guy, Dave, on you tube who can teach this. It's almost unteachable due to the feel and syncopation, but he's incredible at breaking it down. Not only that but he's all over Steve Cropper and the rest of them, too." Anyway, I made a mental note to pop in and see what he was up to. So sad to hear of his passing. Never found anyone better on the net who could teach this style of playing. Loved his videos. I imagine he was a fantastic teacher in person, too. I got the impression he didn't quite realise how great he was. Anyway, my best wishes to his family and friends. I hope you can keep his work alive on the net and maybe even in hardcopy somehow. The work of the great soul guitarists of yesteryear deserves to be kept alive for generations to come and Dave was certainly IMHO the master teacher of the art.
Thank you for your lovely message. You have described the Teacher Dave perfectly. He was also a wonderful guitar teacher in our local schools, one of which has dedicated an award in his name The Dave price award for Music Excellence. His legacy will certainly live on through all you guys who have learnt from him ❤
@@marieprice5537 That is great to hear. I imagine his tutees are devastated...but of course that is insignificant compared to family. Thank you for taking time to respond. I imagine I will spend time over the rest of my life trying to work through his you tube videos so yes his legacy definitely lives on for me. Very best wishes.
Very very sad to hear this news. An extremely talented guy and top teacher whose humble personality came across in his videos. Dave's work and musicianship was top class. Sincere condolences to his family and friends.
WHAAAAT, I cant belive it, Dave was a loverly bloke, A genuine guitar and music lover, and above all, very generous with all his knowledge, I feel like like I've lost a good mate, RIP dave
That is such a bummer. Dave taught me to play Uptown Funk which I've just been playing at a wedding tonight and then found this news. Condolences to his family and friends. His inspiration will live on in the lessons he shared.
So sorry to hear about Dave. I discovered him a moment ago teaching the Still of the Night by White Snake. What an incredible talent, teacher and I hope to come back to learn more from him not only as a musician but likely as a fine human being. My best from Austin, Texas. 6.1.2023
It saddens me to just be finding this out. I relied on Dave's instructions to work out various tunes for cover bands and I would always seek out his take. My live and thoughts to all in his life, he will live on in our hearts.

So sorry to hear about this.. Dave's transcription of George Benson's solo from Living In High Definition was infinitely valuable while I was studying Jazz at university. I will make a donation to Cancer Research in his memory. Rest easy Dave and thank you! Thinking of your family and friends and hope they find comfort knowing that you helped and inspired many people besides me!
As a fellow guitar teacher, I would often check Dave's channel for his take on things - his passing has left me reeling to be honest, and I know it's not a billion-trillionth of any help to his family, but he was evidently a good man, a great player, and a superb tutor.
