Hello! I have a problem with the same laptop,its not turning on with and without battery. Charging led is only blinking. Can you give me some advice on what can I do to it? I hasnt been turned on in years,like 6 I think,but before it used to work without any problems. Sorry for commenting here but you re the only one speaking english fluently and repairing laptops like the 2740p one.
And here I thought i would reapply thermal paste for the CPU... Awesome work. thanks.. I don't think i should reapply .. You think artic silver will reduce the temP? Also are there any other type of fan i can use?

Hey there! Thanks for this video. I've got an old one of these that I like to use, but the power button finally broke off. It's been threatening to do so for months. Anyway, I'm not very experienced with laptop repair, so should I just get a new button or a whole new power button board? I'll have to take off the keyboard and top panel, but what else? And if I were to just get a new button and connecting bits, how would I attach them? I know some of these questions might seem hopelessly amateur, but we've all got to start somewhere, right? I really appreciate any help. Thank you.
If you didn't took apart yet, you can put together by preparing ahead of taking it apart. Keeping screws with particular parts and not mixing screws together. Take additional pictures of certain way the cables are placed etc. If you already took it apart and mixed all screws it will be hard. Not impossible, but different sizes of screws and specially using a wrong size of scews when tightening the palm rest will be a problem, because typical situation when a longer screw damaging a palmrest. Hope for the best!
Bios batter somewhere on the motherboard. The bios itself should be accessible when you power on the laptop and press a certain F button, don't remember F8 or some other one, search it up if possible.
