i think he suffered longer. as he kept quite since little boy eventhough he knew how much he loved her. he started to fall in love with her cause she always did everything for him. she prepared his meals, his milk drinks, make sure he wore lock his jacket button so he won't get freezing and many other things, she even carried him on her back when they were little kid. love means you would do anything for him/her. this kdrama is so lovely and being my top favourite list.
Taek really loved her and suffered for years...it kind of baffles me when people say it was easy for him. If we have sympathy for JH because of how much we were shown things from his POV, I can't imagine how much more we'd root for Taek if we saw his POV. The directors intentionally left it for us to figure out, thats why for the concert scene we only saw JH leaving his movie to race to her but they left out just how tough it probably was for Taek to forfeit his match to run to her. All our questions get answered by JH at the end though when even he realizes that "Taek always wanted her more than him".
I don't get JungHwa followers saying that he had suffered much, when we can see here that Taek loved Duk Sun for much much longer and he had really suffered for this love as well.

Its just that its always junghwan's that is shown if you pay close attention to the drama taek's character suffered more regardless of tgeir suffering I dont get why other team junghwan kept on telling that taek is too lucky the whole like??? He just lost his mother at a very young age and had a lot of struggles internally since he is an introvert child but that didnt stop him from expressing his love for deoksun while junghwan was always hesitating even tho he had the most advantage to pursue deoksun since taek's is always playing baduk. Not to mention that junghwan never shed a tear for deoksun while taek cried when he had to cancel his confession because he learned that junghwan also likes deoksun. I meannn taek deserves deoksun more than anyone elseee!
May God forgive those who feel REAL hate for Bogum / Choi Taek or Jungwan / Ryu Jun Yeol because of the ending of this FICTION, they are just excellent actors who did their job. Ssangmundong squad are all friends in real life plus 2 of them are dating and i'm sure none of them would tolerate anyone who hurt one of them. Hateful words and thoughts can hurt for real. Please don't make them feel ashamed of their fandom, whoever is your fave.
Even Jung Hwa is with Deoksun now. In my heart I still consider Teak is Deokson man in real life. In all of this beautiful MV and their sing I listen it make you cry alot.
