Very helpful, thank you.... thank you.... keep up the good work. today me and my son replaced side power mirror just by watching this video. Body shop had asked for $680 to do this fix.. thanks a lot again
GREAT video and thanks for sharing! My BIGGEST problem was getting the panel back on correctly. I see how you first clipped it on at the top and then angled it to fit on the bottom. I had so many problems doing this that I broke another plastic white extended plug on the interior of the door to go into the door frame. Now, I have to figure out what to do to replace the two broken plugs that go into the door frame holes to secure the panel. Not sure if your company sells these but if they do, then please let me know. Thank you!
All of your videos (this one and a few others for 1999 Camry) are great. I followed the instruction to replace the passenger side mirror and inside door handle without any issue. Thank you very much.
Great video, but use a plastic trim tool to get the front door panel plug off, much less risk of poking through the vinyl on the door like happened in this video at 1:02 . Just a helpful thing I noticed, thanks for the tutorial.
Excellent video, and very helpful. I believe that some vehicles (those made in Japan, perhaps) had the connector in the mirror just like your replacement part, so the pigtail allows it to work in either case. I would suggest that you first remove the black plastic cover on the interior side of the mirror to determine whether it's really necessary to remove the door panel.
I am using this polished and informative tutorial in a college demonstration speech. I will cite you as a source and mention the mirrors you sell. Thank you for your help.
Thanks for posting the video. I wanted all the wiring installed correctly, not cobbled together. The video showed taking the door panel off was easy. The whole project took about 30 minutes start to finish, and I didn't have to screw around with splicing wires. It was a cinch.

Phenomenal how to guide, wish I woulda lined up the clips a little better when I popped the door panel back on but that's on me 😅. Replacing only took about 20 minutes for my driver side mirror!
very usefull video guys thanks alot Im sure others feel the same. btw for anyone that has the upgraded stereo system and have a hard time removing the two bolts to the right that now have a speaker sitting over it try using a 10mm wrench and slowly unscrewing from the sides
I have the driver-side mirror replace myself with the new parts. Everything works as expected, except If I was driving on the highway over 60 miles, I can hear the wind noisy from driver side. Anything I could do to make it better ?
Hiya, is it possible to order just that new wire harness extender from you? Without buying a new mirror? I already bought a replacement mirror, but I didn't know about the harness differences between US-built and Japan-built models until now. Thanks!
Interesting. I live in the city. My 1999 American made Toyota Camry is always losing its mirrors to careless drivers. I would love to find an aftermarket side view mirror ( actually both driver's side and passenger side mirrors) that fits my 1999 Camry AND manually folds. This was not an original option on 1999 and similar year Camrys. However, I was hoping I could find after market side view mirrors that fit my car that do manually fold. Does anyone know if I could find these? I have looked everywhere on the internet, etc. I would really to hear from anyone who knows about such a folding mirror.
has anybody had a J vin camry that they had to remove the glass on? it has 4 clips on it. im trying to remove mine without breaking it but was curious if anybody had any experience?
No mine does too. Im assuming you have the xle. If yours is US built with the vin starting with the number 4 make sure you get one with a 5 point plug.
Good job explaining install. Just one thing..between 0620 & 0630 the mirror changed from black to beige. My car is grey. Can you order the mirror by color code?
Yes you can they have certain codes. Just ordered mine in silver this morning after i messed up my passenger mirror trying to see well my car fits in the garage
Good day I have a 1997 Camry V6LE color black and i need a right hand Mirror Black Do you have any in stock,And do you take payment by western union?Thank you

+Swazzy We're always cycling through cars filming hundreds of common repairs for common vehicles every month. We'll add this to our list of repairs to film. Check back again and hopefully we'll have it soon.
The mirror he removed is old model and needs removing the door panel. Remember when he removed it, the cable connecting the mirror and the connector behind door panel was integral part of the mirror which also will be gone with the old mirror. Only newer version have the mirror connected with a cable so does not need door panel removal. In fact I was about to suggest this a couple of weeks ago. Good that I did not!! As it is already in the market I would have been embarrassed.

the installation for a 1998 Toyota Camry le varies, the door panel doesn't need removed, a male end protrudes the panel which can be attached directly to the replacement mirror unless replacing with a dorman brand then the female end needs replaced with the original wiring (larger connector) and wire shortened. update dorman wiring harness designed for American built Camry video for American application. Japan built cars different wiring harness
+gsteel98 Thanks for watching! The mail mirror harness should just snap into the connector that is at the top of the door just like in the video. Make sure you are pressing down on any pressure points on the harness to get it released. 1aauto.com
@@1AAuto i got it to work however i realized that nobody sells a truely oem mirror for my car. Everybody is selling the adapters with 3 point plugs. Do you have the mirror adapter with the 5 point plug?

Is this the same process for the drivers side mirror?
