- This is a quick video of my homemade Jerk Marinade. I am not jamaican but I do have a Caribbean background ,so this is my rendition of the marinade. below you can find all the ingredients needed to make this ! have fun and Make it with your Family!!!
5 garlic Cloves
a handful of FRESH thyme
a small piece of fresh ginger root
a bale Green Onions (scallions)
A handful of cilantro
A handful of parsley
2 Habanero Peppers ( or any type of pepper you'd like to use)
1/4 cup of water
1-2 tablespoons of Brown sugar
2 tablespoons of mixed herbs (from the container)
2 tablespoons of Browning sauce (or as needed for color)
3 tablespoons of white vinegar
3 tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 tablespoons of Peppercorn
1 tablespoon of black pepper
squeeze one lemon juice in the container to preserve the marinade for up to 6 month!!! Хобби

Good attempt, but no jerk is complete without authentic scotch bonnet pepper & pimento (allspice). Also, we don’t use cilantro and parsley as in the description, they change the flavour profile

Epis is Haitian green seasoning is Jamaica Trinidad and Guyana.Sofrito is peurto Rico but what other countries has this seasoning cuz I’m really not sure

It’s pronounced time but spelt thyme, you forgot the quintessential taste of Jamaican jerk sauce pimento (allspice) and soy sauce. You made a nice marinade but try pimento and sauce next time to give it a Jamaican Jerk sauce taste
Elle Elle your so right! He also added cilantro, water and peppercorns which that is in Epis not Jerk.
I love me some Haitian food, I make epis like every 2 months and I freeze it. In Epis there is a lot more ingredients.
My husband is from Clarendon Jamaica and I make our jerk season fresh every time we grill.
I am from WPB Florida and almost all my friends are Haitian.... love Epis. If you need a recipe, I got you!
