Wonderful haul and it's great to get it all prepared. Makes it easier when you cook. I'm glad you are taking the time you need. Caregiving, cooking, shopping, fur babies, keeping up on yards, laundry and household things is a lot for you. Taking care of yourself and family is most important. I love to see what you put out, but feel glad you are not overdoing. I have almost 50 lbs of peaches that I'll be canning and making jam with on Monday. Whew! ❤
What a great food bank haul 🙂 produce us so costly these days but great to use in food and good for you! Food prep is always useful 😊 hope you are feeling better ..the last video was so calming and beautiful! I hope all the fur babies are well and wishing you both the best of days moving forward...be blessed .
Nice food haul! You did right to throw out that meat, not safe. Thank you for sharing with us and God continue to bless you and your precious family today tomorrow and 4ever 🥀
I poke holes in my sweet potatoes with a fork and bake or cook in the microwave just like a regular baked potato. Then I top my with little brown sugar and butter and cinnamon. You can cut them like you do a regular potato and make french fries, you can peel them cut them up and make mashed sweet potato and put butter, sugar and cinnamon on them. They are really good. You can also bake and top with bbq pulled pork too. Thanks so much for sharing your food pantry haul.
I’m glad you received useful things at both pantries. It was great to hear you say you took a few days off from filming. Everyone needs time off from work! It was so calming to see you prepping the food. You, Glen and the fur babies have a great Labor Day weekend! I’m off until next Thursday, yippee! 🙏🏻💜
Wrap the sweet potatoes in foil and bake in the oven at 375 for about an hour. Spread butter on potatoes and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Delicious!!! Nice haul! 🙂
Hi Corrina, so happy u have new cutting boards and some sharp knives. Both make prepping n cooking easier n u deserve that. Keep up the good work. Hugs to u n Glen n the fur babies from NE AZ. 😊🤗🤗🙏🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hi Corinna and Glen. I have a friend who used sour cream with her cucumbers. She put the sour cream in a bowl, added alittle milk to thin the sour cream a bit. And a couple of table spoons of sugar. As little or as much as you like. Then added the sliced cucumbers. It was so good. I have not had that in a while...... Boy this video brought out the recipes in all of us, lol.
The Strawbery and chocolate powder mix was so good as a kid. We could make it as strong as we wanted. My little sister and I used to put it on top of our ice cream and it was so good that way also. Great memories of my lil sis.
For easy cook sweet potatoes. I put a crock pot liner in my crock pot. Poke holes in the potatoes with a fork. Put up to 4 potatoes in the crock pot and turn on high for 4 hours. Perfect.
I’m from London and just looked this drink up on Walmart out of interest as it looks just like the milkshake one’s that we have here. On Walmart’s website the instructions tell you to add 1 cup of milk and 1tsp of the mixture so I’m glad it is the milkshake drink she hoped it would be. Maybe I will have a look to see what powdered ‘kool aid’ drink you mentioned as we don’t have that here so it would be interesting to see. Take care
Peel and cut up the sweet potatoes, big chop peppers and onions and some kielbasa or even hot dogs. Toss in oil and season then bake as a sheet pan meal. One of my favorite easy things with sweet potatoes. Very nice haul, yum to the strawberry milk mix!
anytime U can then try and leave the skin on the fruit and vegetables because that has the highest amount of nutrients. It's also easier to prepare because U don't need to use a peeler......Those peaches I would have turned into a basic cobbler with the skins still on them and then freezer an entire cobbler or the stewed fruit mixture.
Sweet potatoes, yum. You can do dozens of things, but l wrap it in a grocery bag, microwave a couple of minutes, add all/or butter, honey, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt…. I just keep it simple.
An easier way to peel the peaches, is to score around the center, drop into boiling water for about 3 minutes, then take out and dunk into ice water for a few minutes. The peels will come off by hand, and you don't lose any to the knife.
Cut your sweet potatoes into fries and to them with some oil and some of your favorite seasonings. Heat up your electric skillet and add the fries. Fry until crispy. They’re delicious that way
Enjoy your long weekend! You received a very nice food pantry haul. I roast my sweet potatoes. I dice up potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, onions, and beets beets all together. Add some Mrs. Dash, salt and pepper to it and some butter/margarine and roast them.up. 😋 Take care ❤😊
Lots of great things from the food pantry. It’s nice to hear that you have access to a nice mix of fresh and canned foods. Have a good Labor Day weekend. Try to get some relaxing time in. You certainly deserve it.
Great hauls except for giving you spoiled food! I hope that you let the food pantry (s) know about that. Sweet potatoes are easy. You can just bake on foil lined pan at 350 degrees (prick all over with fork or sharp knife). Check them after about 30 minutes and turn them over using oven mits or fork to protect your hands, and bake the other side. Eat them plain, or add butter/ cinnamon. You can always microwave them too. For something fancier, wash/scrub the potatoes the potatoes, then put in pan and cover with water, bring to boil. Cook til just slightly soft (use fork or knife to check). Carefully remove from stove to your sink. Carefully pour off the hot water and let potatoes cool in the pan. When cool, remove skin with knife or fork. Slice sweet potatoes about 1/2 to 1 inch thick in foil lined baking dish or pan that you have buttered or sprayed lightly with Pam. You can also lightly mash the potatoes if you want. Add your favorite toppings, I use about 2-3 tablespoons of butter or butter spread etc cut up and sprinkled on top, then add a bit of cinnamon (optional) Sprinkle on a couple of tablespoons of orange juice or apple juice/cider on top for moisture. Cover tightly with foil and bake in 350 degree oven for about 30-35 minutes til hot, check it after about 20 minutes and add more juice if the potatoes are getting dry. You can also remove the aluminum foil for the last 5 minutes of baking to help it brown a bit if desired. Serve and enjoy. I call this "Less is More Sweet Potato Casserole". No marshmallows or brown sugar or maple syrup. You just add a little bit of everything and let the natural sweetness of the sweet potatoes shine. I also sprinkle about 2-3 tablespoons of reduced sugar dried cranberries on top before baking for added color. Some chopped walnuts or pecans or a small amount of candied nuts are good too. The beauty of this dish is that you can add what you want and it is pretty easy once you get the sweet potatoes boiled.
Great video, glad you managed to stock up on some vegetables and those peaches look lovely. In regard to the milk drink you said milk doesn’t always agree with you, have you tried alternatives like oat milk, almond milk ect.. if so how were you with them?. Food banks often have milk alternatives available so if you haven’t before maybe one week you could get the chance to give one a try and see if you can tolerate any of them better. Having rest days between filming is a good idea as not only will it help you from becoming burnt out with the process but more importantly it gives your brain and body the rest in needs to recharge for the next one. Maybe if you record a couple videos on the same day then have a break for 2-3 days that way you can still get out around 4 videos a week (or whatever amount works for you) but have only two filming days. Regardless whatever you find works for best for you the most important thing is to find a balance so you don’t over do it. Take care God bless, Sarah from London.

The Strawberry mix looks more like a Kool-Aid not to be mixed with milk

Put a sliced up onion in that cucumber mix. And maybe vegetable oil instead of water. Game changer!

I love just to roast sweet potatoes and just eat them like a baked potato. Or throw them in soup or stew
Bake your sweet potatoes and add brown sugar, butter and cinnamon, you won't be disappointed.
Happy Labor Day weekend. 😊
You’re fine, some creators only do once a week. Everyone needs a break!
I’ve never seen sugar in the cucumber mix, I’ll have to try it.
We add red onion to ours and let it soak overnight but we love sour zesty flavor.
That dinner looked delicious 🏕

Brats with pepper and onions? Think about it, you have all you need.
Hope you make a pie from the potatoes.
Try and buy lactaid milk I find that does not bother my stomach so it may be ok for you also.
Make pickled peaches or peach salsa
Bake them like potatoes
