Just replaced my Night Breaker Unlimiteds with Laser. The Laser's seem brighter to me, especially when I use my high beams. I typically have 9012 single beams.
It is normal to have a new bulb brighter than the old ones, especially if they were Unlimited. I hope they will last you at least 2 years, although there are better options out there.
You have about 8 minutes to figure out which is better. it's impossible to match it because I didn't drove at the same speed on the mountain road full of turns
Thank you as well for your appreciation and support. I really try my best to help you all, especially good people like yourself! All the best and take care!
Foarte bun video-ul! Keep it up!
Primul bulb s-a ars dupa aprox. Clima si drumurile pot avea un rol important in durata de viata a becurilor dupa parerea mea, (masina condusa in Norvegia - clima rece).
Hello it seems to me that the new Osram NB Laser seem to produce a little bit more warmer Light in comparison with the NB Unlimited. Both have great power on vision on the road. But if i had to choose 35 EUR for a set of 2 NB Laser i could already get 2 sets of 2 NB Unlimited, they are around 18 EUR on ebay. Right now i have the Osram Cool Blue Intense H7 on my VW Golf 4. They look great white from the outside, but visibility specially in Rain at Night is poor in comparison to Night Breakers. Unfortunately i ordered already a set of Osram Cool Blue Intense Hyper....which are not legal on road in Germany. I think the Cool Blue Hyper is even more worse at night and rain, than the Cool Blue Intense already are :-(( Anyway....i am on a budget and i get myself the Night Breaker Unlimited because of its cheaper price. Thank you very much for this comparison....it helped me a lot with my decision, since the NEW Lasers are good, but not "twice" as good, as the are "twice" as expensive.
Hey there. Thank you for your interest shown and kind words. The NB Laser (3750k) are just a bit colder than the NB Unlimited (3600k), at least on paper. But you are perfectly right, the difference in price doesn't worth it when you have to pay for it. Regarding the Cool Blue Hyper, yeah, those will have a very poor brightness. Personally i wouldn't even bother installing them. See if you can resell them, without opening the package.
Yes. these are the H7 socket ones. As long as your car has the same socket you can install them without any mods. They are also available in H4 socket at Powerbulbs.com
Laser didn't last 1 year in my 2014 rav4, had unlimited on my previous corollas and I sold the car put the bulbs on next car and sold the car with them. Almost two years wuth the same lamps. In my experience unlimited last longer, but we must consider the previous corollas doesn't have projector, that could make the bulbs hotter than commom headlights. Lasers, here in Brazil are 30% more expensive too.
Well both are really old now and I wouldn't consider buying them now. Do you have the Osram Night Breaker 200 there also? After 2 years you should consider replacing the halogen even if it still works, because it's not as bright as in the begining, considering you used them every day or night.
@@m3rovingian Now I'm using leds but it's not so good as the nightbreakers. The last NB Lasers, one stop working and the other one became too weak. I'm trying to find some solution now, maybe 50000 lumens ultraled 4300 (don't like 6000k, got a pair now) or maybe a good xenon kit instead. NB 200 are on the market here, but I think they are not offered on HB3/9005 for my actual car. Only find Laser or Unlimited. At least didn't found it on the web or manufacturer website .
@@digaoturbo It's because you went for some low quality LED. Get any HIKARI, ACUMA or LUXSTER LED you can find on your fitting and I promise you won't regret it.
@@m3rovingian I've tried 3 different leds, the other two were really low quality and weak. The currently is much better than the previous ones. It took work to adjust the position to fill the beam correctly. According to the seller, there are 30000 Lumens and 6000k. But they cannot project light as far as NB osrams. I'm thinking about testing the k7c dawnknight 4300k or something similar, I'll seek those manufacturers you told too. Last stand going for xenon.
Nice video, I personally can't really tell a difference in the output of the light on the road, both look nearly the same. The NB Unlimited seem to put out a whiter lighter than the NB Laser do since you mentioned the Unlimited are on the lower portion of the screen. I believe the Lumens rating for the Unlimited are 1500 and are a 55w 3600K rating. With regards to the NB Laser I assume they are 55w as well but do you know the Lumens and Kelvin ratings for them? I am running currently the Osram Rallye bulbs in my VW, which are 65w on low-beam, 2100 Lumens with a 3200K color temp. Curious if I would benefit from the NB Laser over the Osram Rallye....
Thank you. Indeed the NB Unlimited were a very unexpected pleasant surprise from the brightness POV. if you don't care about having a white cold light, for the money they are the best deal at the moment. The OSRAM NB Laser have the same watts and lumens only the kelvin have been increased to 3750k from what I heard. Also the Lasers have a lower lifespan, they stated, due to their higher brightness. But on the street this is the result. Considering the specs of your present bulbs, even if they are warmer in light they will be brighter than the NB Laser. This unless you have them for 2 years or so, when it would be time to change them, because after that period of time all halogens decrease in brightness.
m3rovingian A whiter light than what the Osram Rallye put out would be nice but ultimately I would prefer to have more light on the road and a bit further too. Odd that the Kelvin rating has increased in the Laser, one would think they would be a bit whiter, but it looks to me just the opposite with the Unlimited looking whiter. I am just over a year with my current pair of Osram Rallye I do like to change them out every few years. I noticed Osram isn't making them in the H4 size anymore (my high beam/fog light) according to a rather large bulb reseller, so they offer a substitute. The H7 for my low beam is still in production. Ultimately I wish I could find something brighter/whiter than the Rallye bulbs but just dont think that is possible.
Yes I could do that but its wasting money to try out multiple bulbs and then deal with either keeping bulbs I don't like or returning them. I may just stick with the Osram Rallye H7 for my low beam and the H4 replacement since Osram isn't making the H4 Rallye anymore.
SBFan20 Well, at some point you will have to replace them. Then you can get the WhiteVision, only 2 of them, to see how they look. Something tells me you will be pleased with the result. Plus they are not so expensive.
They are very close in color temperature, but the NB Laser ar just a bit whiter because of their extra brightness. They all have a warm light of 3600-3700k max.
great stuff, thanks! am thinking of ordering one but wanna wait for some reviews on the Philips RacingVision +150%...although those seem to be a bit more yellowish in colour.
Eiran Tan As soon as I'll have then ready I will post the reviews. If you'll wait I'll also put soon, in the description, an additional discount CODE if you decide to buy them from Powerbulbs.com. Still waiting to receive it.
Just bought a pack of Osram NB Laser for the headlights of my 2013 Tiguan. Purchased as I am disappointed by the performance of the Philips Racing Vision H7's that have been in the last 4 months. Previously used NB, NBP & NBU and PEV's and the PRV's have been poor by comparison... unless they are about to burn out! What bought the poor performance of the PRV home to me was driving wife's 2015 K13 Micra to work in the dark and being amazed at how much more I could see with the Bosch Ultra 120% H4's I fitted! In the UK the Ring Xenon 130% seem a good compromise for performance / service life / price point (have these on the Tiguan as from fogs)
If the RV disappointed you then you're in for even a bigger bad surprise with the LASERS :) Or maybe you simply had to much expectations from halogens. RING and any other halogen cannot yet match the build quality and the light of any Philips bulb in the same tier of bulbs.
The Lasers are colder and shine better. The unlimited is much warmer in light but they are also cheaper. The lifespan is about 6 months for both. I would pick the Lasers out of these 2, but my personal favorite remain Philips WHiteVision.
Unlimited is brighter and whiter. Independent Test by Bulbfacts shows this. Looks like it's just marketing to charge more for the Laser and give a shorter lifespan. I'm going to try Phillips extreme vision 130. The problem with all these performance bulbs is that they come in pairs, when 1 blows, you have to replace the set and you can never find the same type after a year or 2 because the manufacturer keeps on changing them or "upgrading" them as they prefer to call it...
No man. When it comes to light color the NB Unlimited are the warmest of the +110-130% halogens made by Philips and Osram. The Lasers are a bit colder than the Unlimited. Both have a short lifespan of about 6 months. The XV+130% from Philips will last about a year. If you want peace of mind and very good visibility get Philips WhiteVision. You'll get the most out of your money for the nest 2 years.
@@m3rovingian all have quite short life. What about the NB Silver? Is it any whiter than a standard bulb at all? It costs much less and promises longer life than a standard bulb, which is twice that of unlimited/laser.
@@zeed5764 I didn't keep them enough to see how much the NB Silver will last, but in my country they are really expensive for what they have to offer. I'd still go for Philips WhiteVision.
I would go for the newer Laser at this point. The prices have dropped a lot since they were released. I don't see the use of buying the old NB Unlimited now, since the new ones offer a better performance. It's true they say the lifespan has to suffer because of this, but only time can tell.
wonderfull chanel ... thumbs up!!! just got a pair of osram h1 unlimited ... and got worried there is new model and i got a bad deal ... after watching the video ... no bother at all still good option the NB unlimited can you make review of FOG BREAKER ... i can not find them anywhere in Bulgaria ...
Thank you so much for your kind words. indeed the OSRAM NB unlimited are the best halogens in the price/performance ratio. I was very pleased with them. I already reviewed the H11 NB Unlimited for the fog lamps. You can see it here: ruclips.net/video/AF3G9EVtclA/видео.html If you want you can buy them from my links, in the description of the videos, from Amazon.co.uk. It'll help my channel with a small commission, without costing you anything extra.
I saw that video. Its just that i cant figure out which has the white light (i like the light to be as bright as possible and that depends on the kelvin i suppose, also if its a bit blueish, i like it even more)
Osram NB Laser have a warm light, but offer a very good visibility and brightness on the road. Philips DiamondVision look great, like xenons, but on the road they are very very bad and weak. The blue light makes you tired faster and the light is insufficient to drive safely. On a rain you will think you didn't turn on the headlights. If you are really into the xenon look from a halogen and don't care about the safety on the road, i would go for OSRAM Cool Blue Hyper+ 5000k. They at least are brighter than DiamondVision, but still not good enough.
just checked the cool blue osram... they dont exist in H7 in myu country at least, damn..... Can you please help me out? I have a VW Eos, and im trying to find good lights, strong, as white as possible (or blue, i dont mind). aNy suggestions?
Am luat un set de Laser H7 si unu H4 la 190 lei . Cred ca le-am prins bine. Sper sa tina si ele macar un an, folosite doar noaptea(nu prea are tata trasee pe europene cand sunt plecat si nici noaptea nu prea circula).
hello, my car came fitted with xenons as standard, but the fog light is halogen. Should i use cool blue intense or night breaker laser to replace the yellow fog light?
No matter what road legal halogen you use, it'll not look as your xenon. If you can find them the Cool blue Intense will be closer to the xenon look than the warm light of NB Laser. Just keep in mind NB Laser is available only in H4 and H7 fittings. Probably you have H11 on your fog lamps.
So a question on the Night Breaker Laser, do they not come in a 9006 bulb size? I've been looking around for my Honda Accord and cannot find them in that size.
No, they are very weak; they have like half the brightness of a standard halogen, despite the fact they look very nice with a white light. OSRAM Laser light's up 2 times better, but that is does to their yellowish light. it's just something you'll have to deal with.
As always, great video! 😃 If the NB Laser wouldn't be more than twice as expensive (44€) as the NB Unlimited (18€) I would buy them. I'm dissapointed that Osram doesn't offer a performance edition of the Cool Blue lamps, like +100%. I believe that the effect would be much better because the filament burns at a higher temperature so there's less yellow light to be filtered out.
Thank you. I highly appreciate it! It's very true, the prices are off the charts at this moment, most probably because of the typical hype of a new product. Regarding the Cool Blue line, I must take your word for it, because I haven't looked into it. For me the perfect bulb would be a DiamondVision of 1500 lumens, but I guess I'm asking too much. :)
Hi there i need to replace and want to take the best investment in bulb's. Which did you recomend? TOP LASER? or BOTTOM UNLIMITED? I think that unlimited is more bright but i dont know, what do you say? which one had more life time? and which had more bright? Thanks for taking time.
Laser is on top, yes. Unlimited are warmer and less bright, but still very good. Lasers are brighter, but this will decrease their lifespan. After 6 months you can expect at least 1 bulb to burn out. If money is no problem, get the Lasers
@@han436 None of those 2 and no halogen can get close to LEDs. You either get HIKARI ultra LED or philisp WhiteVision halogen and accept the fact they are not like leds not in color or intensity.
@@m3rovingian I couldnt find hikari on aliexpress, can you suggest me any other ? Also I chekc h4 led isnt showing trouble light anymore , is led can damage my cars electricy 2012 skoda yeti car ?
m3rovingian im interested in getting the whitevision, but a seller says that its 4300k for most other sockets but 3700k for H11. Although advertised as 3700k, is it still whitish?
They are the exact same bulb. The 4300k was their ration on the first gen, with the old packaging. Now, with the new package they were re-branded @ 3700k, probably to be closer to their real kelvin color temp. The 4300k was just a bit of marketing. Even if they are stated at 3700k, as long as they are WhiteVision, get them. You won't regret it.
Thx for the info! I used to think whitevision was an old version of crystalvision (not sure why lol), but after your recommendation, i went to look at the actual product specifications. NB unlimited and whitevision are almost the same brightness of 1350lumens for H11 despite the labelling on nb being 110% brighter. With the same brightness, whitevision definitely wins due to its higher color temp.
NB laser or Phillips white light essential vision 100/90w? And also, would 100/90w suck more battery than NB laser 60/55w? Please do help me. And please do let me know what bulbs are to be used in combination to this as fog lights. I am fed up of VW's pathetic stock lights. Regards
Use the wattage of your car, not the racing ones. So NB Laser is the safe way to go. If not you will need heavy duty relays but depending on the size of your headlamp, reflector, you might end up melting something from the heat of burn out a fuse. For fog lights, if you want a stylish look you can get Osram Cool blue intense, because they are cheaper. The best but also the most expensive on the H11 fitting are Philips WhiteVision
they are virtually the same...maybe a slight difference, not justified for the extra $$$ ...I like the unlimited but since my car has projector headlights I'm probably gonna upgrade to hid xenon
There is a slight improvement in the color temp, colder and a bit brighter, but indeed, the OSRAM Night Breaker Unlimited, for the money are the best buy.
Almost all auto-bulb sites have a tool where you select your car and it tells you all your bulbs. Also you could just google the information quite easily.
Hi from Germany, i tried now both ,but in my car with leans headlight it seem that the laser are more yellow in there Color as the unlimited. I think i use better the unlimited again.
Hello there. In the case of headlamps with projectors, if that is what you have, the results will be different, mainly because the lens/projectors are more suitable for LED or xenon bulbs, which are 3 times brighter than any halogen. Still the Lasers should have been a bit colder, because they have 3750K and the Unlimited only 3600k. But all around they are very good performance halogens. Try to keep the LASERS for when the NB unlimited will fade in brightness over time.
I see more whiter reflefction on the traffic shields with the unlimited, the laser doesent do that so good, for my headlight i think the unlimited are better, the blue cutted window on the laser is , lesser and not so blue as on the unlimited . And they are NOT BRIGHTER sorry , you ´need a luxmeter than you can say that correct. Greathings from Germany and thanks for your work ;-)
You should know, that yellow color performs better in foggy and snowy weather. Yellow color not reflects from fog as much as white/blue. So i think that LASER is better decision. I remember when there was R2 bulbs in cars, i had never problems with fog or snow. And one more reason, why rally fog lights have yellow glass :D. You should try!
Thank you for your appreciation. I shall try to take your advice into consideration for my future videos. I just wanted to be as impartial as possible and let the viewers decide. But I will do it next time.
I understand and while this is a great thing it can be hard to tell, from a video, exactly how a light performs - that is better and easier from a "real life" point of view. Kinda like sound, you cant really tell the quality through a youtube video but you can get an idea. Again, not trying to talk your video down cause it is really great and helped me a lot.
Indeed the price gap can be greater from one country to another. Just keep in mind the NB Unlimited will last maximum 1 year, in some cases even less. WhiteVision can go up to 2 years in normal driving conditions
Hi, great video! Really like the laser...but maybe a dumb question ( i am not technical..) my car has H7 halogen but only 1 bulb for normal driving light and for big light...can i use this laser lights in my car? Thx Mike
Hello. As long as you are sure H7 is your fitting, you can use NB Laser without a problem. usually H4 was used as a single bulb for both low and high beams. But you know better. Just make sure it's that fitting and then get the Lasers for that exact one. You can find them in H4 and H7 fitting on the market.
unfortunately it is the same case with Philips RacingVision. They offer a much better visibility and brightness, but after 6 months I had one already burned off.
Philips WhiteVision have the best lifespan, out of all the halogens I tested. Some subscribers had them for over 2 years. So it is a good investment in visibility, from this point of view, After 2 years you would have to change the car bulbs anyway, since they loose out the intensity, over time. So WhiteVision are the perfect choice in this case.
I higly recommend you to read wikipedia article about haĺogen lamps. As every H7 halogen lamp is filled with iodine (a halogen gas) so is the nightbreaker laser. Stop talking BS.

Osram Night Breaker Laser. Alles gute!
@@m3rovingianOsram Night Breaker Laser are nothing special.
I think the Sylvania Silver Star Ultras outperform the Lasers.
@@Dem-yv6qz Maybe so, but both look like they are made by the same company, OSRAM.
It would be alot better if u are matching the video. Both hard to compare when at different places

Thank you as well for your appreciation and support. I really try my best to help you all, especially good people like yourself! All the best and take care!
Bottom one seems brighter, top one *maybe* throws a little farther though..
Indeed, both the Night Breakers are very good. Buy the one you consider worths the money.
Foarte bun video-ul! Keep it up!
Primul bulb s-a ars dupa aprox. Clima si drumurile pot avea un rol important in durata de viata a becurilor dupa parerea mea, (masina condusa in Norvegia - clima rece).
Hello
it seems to me that the new Osram NB Laser seem to produce a little bit more warmer Light in comparison with the NB Unlimited.
Can these be installed on a stock clio? can you just change the bulb? or do you need to do more mods?
Yes. these are the H7 socket ones.

Thank you for your support! The NB Laser have a lifespan of 250h and the NB Unlimited 300h.
hi. which Led is best to my kia forte 2014 low beam and high beam thanks.
HIKARI Ultra. The best lights I tested on my car.
This unless you have them for 2 years or so, when it would be time to change them, because after that period of time all halogens decrease in brightness.
m3rovingian
A whiter light than what the Osram Rallye put out would be nice but ultimately I would prefer to have more light on the road and a bit further too.
SBFan20 Whiter is possible. Philips WhiteVision is for sure, but brighter...there is only one way you can find out :) Buy them and test it yourself
Plus they are not so expensive.
hi there, i couldn't really tell from the video but is the NB Laser or NB Unlimited whiter?
They are very close in color temperature, but the NB Laser ar just a bit whiter because of their extra brightness. They all have a warm light of 3600-3700k max.
would you say the extra brightness is very noticeable compared to the NB Unlimited? Thanks!
Eiran Tan It is by a bit, especially when it comes to the road signs and the lines on the road; they really do pop-out.
great stuff, thanks! am thinking of ordering one but wanna wait for some reviews on the Philips RacingVision +150%...although those seem to be a bit more yellowish in colour.

If the RV disappointed you then you're in for even a bigger bad surprise with the LASERS :)
Or maybe you simply had to much expectations from halogens. RING and any other halogen cannot yet match the build quality and the light of any Philips bulb in the same tier of bulbs.
Have used both the bulbs and want I felt was night breaker shines better than lasers
What's your opinion on that
The Lasers are colder and shine better. The unlimited is much warmer in light but they are also cheaper. The lifespan is about 6 months for both. I would pick the Lasers out of these 2, but my personal favorite remain Philips WHiteVision.
@@m3rovingian what about white vision. And white vision ultra

I would go for the newer Laser at this point. The prices have dropped a lot since they were released. I don't see the use of buying the old NB Unlimited now, since the new ones offer a better performance. It's true they say the lifespan has to suffer because of this, but only time can tell.

The answer is no. Here is the comparisson: ruclips.net/video/zfnNzYT5zz8/видео.html
They at least are brighter than DiamondVision, but still not good enough.
thanks man, i will keep it mind :D

hello, my car came fitted with xenons as standard, but the fog light is halogen.

Yup, there aren't available in that fitting from what I know. But you can get the Cool Blue Intense in H8.

hi, which model u recommend for raining situation. Philips Xrteme / Crystal or Osram Laser / Cool Blue ?

Em.. Philips Crystal with 4300k light not better during raining ? Currently using Osram 64193 60/55W 12. Osram Laser better ?
No, they are very weak; they have like half the brightness of a standard halogen, despite the fact they look very nice with a white light. OSRAM Laser light's up 2 times better, but that is does to their yellowish light. it's just something you'll have to deal with.
What would be the closest original h7 bulb to HiDs/xenon
No halogen can ever get close to a xenon
As always, great video! 😃
If the NB Laser wouldn't be more than twice as expensive (44€) as the NB Unlimited (18€) I would buy them.
The blue tinting reduces amount of light being projected. So it is a trade off. Cannot have blue tint and high output unfortunately.
Gary Willis True that.

Only time will tell.
m3rovingian im interested in getting the whitevision, but a seller says that its 4300k for most other sockets but 3700k for H11.
Indeed. Hope you'll be pleased with them. Thank you as well.

There are too many variety in the market, how would I know if my car fits H1, H4, H7, H11 or HB4? Thanks for the help.
Look on the web
Almost all auto-bulb sites have a tool where you select your car and it tells you all your bulbs. Also you could just google the information quite easily.
Just look at your OEM bulb. The spesification should be shown on the bulb
Check your car manual.

The test was done with low beams. Only when you see high beams in the title it's such

Thank you for your appreciation. I shall try to take your advice into consideration for my future videos. I just wanted to be as impartial as possible and let the viewers decide. But I will do it next time.
I understand and while this is a great thing it can be hard to tell, from a video, exactly how a light performs - that is better and easier from a "real life" point of view. m3rovingian my car only accepts HB4.
Personally i would choose Philisp WhiteVision everytime. Not see what bulbs you can find for that fitting
m3rovingian I fell over when I saw the price of Phillips White Vision for just one bulb. I paid the same price for two Osram NB Unlimited.
Which one is on the top?
Laser
m3rovingian looks like a unlimited id a better
The Lasers are better, but the difference is very hard to distinguish in real life
m3rovingian lasers are better for rainy day too?
yes. For all wather
thanks!!!
you're welcome.
Unlimited vs Philips Xtreme vision
Win?
Philips offers better quality and longer lifespan
at last :) thank's for this test :)
Thank you as well. I'm glad you like it.
Night breaker unlimited is much better, specially on rain and fog..
Then you should get those one!
sorry...what type bulb for bottom video?
NB Unlimited
+m3rovingian osram NBR unlimited or osram NBR Laser recomended?
+m3rovingian osram NB unlimited or osram NB Laser recomended best bulb?
Get the Lasers.
laser
short spanned bulbs, in a year alone you'll need to replace twice, my mechanic does not recommend it.
unfortunately it is the same case with Philips RacingVision. They offer a much better visibility and brightness, but after 6 months I had one already burned off.
Its a small price to pay. They arent that expensive, and are much better interms of light output and colour than regular halogen bulbs
Philips WhiteVision have the best lifespan, out of all the halogens I tested. Some subscribers had them for over 2 years. So it is a good investment in visibility, from this point of view, After 2 years you would have to change the car bulbs anyway, since they loose out the intensity, over time. So WhiteVision are the perfect choice in this case.
poor light
I had my NBU for almost four years before i need to changed it last week, and i changed it to Osram FBR now
Which of these have longer lifespan? Laser or unlimited?
Unlimited in theory. But out of the 2 I would go for the lasers. unlimited we're known to last about 6 months as well in reality.
Sadly the laser arent available as HB4
Get the Unlimited then. they are way better than standard halogens.

almost identical :)
The Lasers are a bit colder
laser up or down???
Up
I higly recommend you to read wikipedia article about haĺogen lamps.
As every H7 halogen lamp is filled with iodine (a halogen gas) so is the nightbreaker laser.
Stop talking BS.
I used the information from the OSRAM website in reviewing these Lasers.
