Dennis Smith did these presentations at my then home church of Wahroonga SDA in November 2011. There is a lot of good sense in what he says about forgiving people and letting go of habitual sin. BUT there is also a dangerous false teaching in his conclusion: Dennis will argue that if you deal with all emotional wounds in your life, forgive everyone, get rid of all habitiual sin etc etc, then you will have authority to command any Satanic attack to leave you alone and the evil spirits must leave. Now there are cases of Jesus and the appstles doing that: SOME cases. However Job went through months of unrelenting suffering and attack all brought on by Satan himself, not for any of Dennis' given reesons, but because God estatblished in Chapter 1 of Job that Job didn't have any of these problems. And in chapter 42 God asks Job to pray for his repentant friends because they did not speak rightly about him throughout the story as Job did. Job's 3 friends specifically got it wrong in saying that Job's sin had brought his troubles on him, contrary to chapter 1. Dennis is effectively doing the same thing. There are times when Satan will have a go at someone for the sake of it, and only God can put a stop to that in his Job Chapter 42 timing, not us by following a set of emotional healing and forgiveness rules as Dennis purports in his presentations. He is setting people up with false expectations and undermining their faith, and in act Dennis is making exactly the same mistake as Eliaphaz, Bildao and Zophar did in what they repeatededly wrongly said to Job.
